Arnold Schwarzenegger Still Wants a Sequel to His Iconic Fantasy Epic CONAN THE BARBARIAN — GeekTyrant
Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't ready to let Conan the Barbarian fade into the past. Over 40 years after he first swung that badass broadsword on the big screen, the action legend is still holding out hope for a return to Robert E. Howard's brutal fantasy world. While promoting FUBAR Season 2 on Netflix, Schwarzenegger reflected on his career and admitted there are some roles he'd love to revisit… starting with Conan. 'Sometimes I wish that we could do more Conan sequels, because I think that if you have the right director and the right writing, there could be a really, really good franchise to continue King Conan and stuff like that,' Schwarzenegger said in an interview with Collider. 'So I mean, there's a lot of movies that have done that could have a sequel.' The original Conan the Barbarian hit theaters in 1982, directed by John Milius and co-written by Oliver Stone. It made Schwarzenegger a household name, leading to a sequel in 1984, Conan the Destroyer . A third film, Conan the Conqueror , was planned but ultimately morphed into the 1997 flop Kull the Conqueror . The franchise didn't die, though. Conan returned in comics, novels, games, two animated shows, and even a short-lived live-action TV series in the '90s. Jason Momoa tried his hand at the role in 2011, but the reboot wasn't that good. In 2020, Netflix and Prime Video both flirted with fresh adaptations, but those talks seem to have stalled. There was a moment in 2012 when the stars almost aligned for Schwarzenegger's comeback as an older, battle-hardened Conan. The project, titled The Legend of Conan , was set to follow the King Conan storyline, with Chris Morgan and Frederick Malmberg producing and Andrea Berloff writing the script. Schwarzenegger hyped it for years, but by 2017, Morgan confirmed Universal had killed the film. Morgan previously teased how the movie would open: 'It opens with this [hand on the chin]. It's where you have to. It's the sequel that we were promised and never got. I'm 11 when my father took me to see Conan the Barbarian which you should never take an 11-year-old kid to. 'It was a life changing thing. It's an unbelievable movie. It comes back to [director John] Milius, right? There's nobody better and it's a real movie. It's a truthful movie. Chris and I from the very beginning said there's no reason to do it unless it's a worthy sequel to Milius's Conan and I think we've got that. I really do.' Morgan also previously described his version of Conan , which is initially what got me super excited for this project: "I want the warrior whose joints have started to fuse together, who has to crack the cartilage so he can pick up a sword again. I want the guy who's not necessarily lost a step, but there's some rust he has to shake off. I want to embrace that. It makes it a greater hero story. "Conan needs to be faced with challenges. The greatest challenge to him isn't the armies that are set before him. It's, on some level, self-doubt, a little bit of slowing down and forcing yourself to be heroic beyond what people expect of you. What I don't want is for him to step back in and look the same. That would defeat the purpose of our story." Could it still happen? If Schwarzenegger's passion is any indication, fans shouldn't give up hope just yet. Until then, you can catch the Austrian Oak in FUBAR Season 2, now streaming on Netflix. Would you want to see Arnold return as Conan for one last adventure? Or should the barbarian's saga stay in the past?

Jelly Roll puts Logan Paul through a table in wild ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live' brawl ahead of WWE SummerSlam clash
Jelly Roll's debut as a late-night talk show host was one for the ages. The country singer, rapper and, now a WWE wrestler, started his stint as the substitute host of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' on Wednesday the way you'd expect — cracking jokes behind a desk and interviewing a guest, pro wrestler Randy Orton. Ten minutes later, he was chokeslamming Logan Paul through the desk. The segment featured Jelly Roll, Orton, Paul and Drew McIntyre to promote their upcoming SummerSlam match, which will pit Orton and Jelly Roll against Paul and McIntyre. Things spiraled out of control when McIntyre emerged from backstage and started talking trash. 'You're screwed at SummerSlam, but I'm bringing some positivity,' McIntyre said. 'This man Jelly Roll lost over 200 pounds working his arse off. You truly are an inspiration to trailer trash all across the world. 'I just want to know, after you lost all that weight, how did it feel to see your little tootsie roll for the first time in 20 years?' 3 Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton tussled during Wednesday's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' show. Jimmy Kimmel Live/YouTube Orton got up from his seat and responded: 'Drew, nobody flew here to see you act like a prick. Wrong time, wrong place, why don't you back the f–k up?' Orton and McIntyre grappled their way offstage from there, until Paul emerged to a chorus of boos from the audience. 'You, my friend, are a greasy, redneck, prison rat,' Paul jabbed, before shoving Jelly Roll. 'Congrats, it's Logan Paul's show now. A real superstar.' 3 Jelly Roll after slamming Logan Paul through a desk on Wednesday's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' show. Jimmy Kimmel Live/YouTube That prompted Jelly Roll to grab Paul by the collar, hoist him into the air and slam him through the wooden desk, which splintered into pieces. The stunt comes after the same quartet sparred during Saturday Night's Main Event on July 12, with Paul beating up Orton, Jelly Roll punching Paul and McIntyre laying out Jelly Roll with a Claymore kick. 3 Jelly Roll, who is a rapper and singer, performing during CMA Fest 2025 on June 6. FilmMagic SummerSlam is slated for Aug. 2-3 at MetLife Stadium.

After raising over $3M, popular VC-backed beauty brand Ami Colé is shuttering
Diarrha N'Diaye-Mbaye, one of the first among the small number of Black women to raise more than $1 million in venture capital, announced on Thursday the closure of her award-winning beauty startup Ami Colé. Ami Colé creates makeup for those with darker skin colors, as those consumers often struggle to find makeup that matches their skin tone. It launched in 2021, sold through Sephora, and became a celeb favorite among the likes of singer Kelly Rowland and actress Mindy Kaling. But the four-year-old company will now officially shutter in September. N'Diaye-Mbaye wrote about her decision to close the company in 'The Cut,' saying that 'after looking at every option, it became clear that continuing in this current market wasn't sustainable.' Her company had raised more than $3 million in venture capital, according to Pitchbook, with backing from the likes of G9 Ventures, Gretcroft, and angel investors Hannah Bronfman and 'The Cut' Editor-in-Chief Lindsay Peoples-Wagner. Ami Colé did not immediately respond to our request for comment. Ami Colé, like many Black startups launched after the murder of George Floyd, rode the waves of excitement from investors and corporations looking to pour money into backing more products and initiatives that touched upon diversity, equity, and inclusion. N'Diaye-Mbaye hinted that one of the problems was tension between her and investors' expectations of a consumer retail business. While she had loyal customers, her fast nationwide growth meant pressure from investors. But her brand struggled to compete with bigger companies with deeper pockets, despite pouring a sizeable chunk of its budget into marketing. Ami Colé faced the ups and downs of production vs sales in retail: one week selling straight through, and another not moving a unit. 'Instead of focusing on the healthy, sustainable future of the company and meeting the needs of our loyal fan base, I rode a temperamental wave of appraising investors — some of whom seemed to have an attitude toward equity and 'betting big on inclusivity' that changed its tune a lot, to my ears, from what it sounded like in 2020,' she wrote. N'Diaye-Mbaye ended her announcement by saying that though this chapter in her life was ending, her work was not done. 'I still believe in beauty — at every level — and I'm looking forward to discovering what comes next,' she said.
