Eknath Shinde has no idea, no opinion, whatever BJP says, Shinde has to do: Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Bhaskar Jadhav
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] June 20 (ANI): Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray arrived at Sena Bhawan in Mumbai on Friday to hold a meeting with party leaders. Thackeray has called a crucial meeting with district heads, contact heads, and MLAs of the party.
Speaking about the meeting, Shiv Sena UBT Leader Bhaskar Jadhav informed that the meeting aims to strategise and prepare for potential elections.
' The Supreme Court has given a judgment that elections for local sectors like Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils, District Councils, and Panchayat Committees must be conducted within four months. So, because of that, the party should also be ready for elections. The party must prepare some kind of strategy for the elections. The party should also be ready for the election and should make a strategy, that's why a meeting of the district chief and public representatives has been called', Jadhav told reporters.
Jadhav also criticised Eknath Shinde's recent remarks against Uddhav Thackeray, alleging that Shinde's words seemed to be dictated by the BJP.
'The words used by Eknath Shinde for Uddhav Thackeray ... it seems to me that the mouth is of Eknath Shinde but the words are of BJP, Eknath Shinde has no idea, no opinion, whatever BJP says, Eknath Shinde has to do that. So it seems to me that although Eknath Shinde's face is visible, everything is actually being done by the BJP...' Jadhav alleged.
Earlier, addressing a gathering in Mumbai on Thursday, on the occasion of Shiv Sena Foundation Day, Eknath Shinde slammed Uddhav Thackeray, saying that his 'arrogance' is leading him to 'destruction.' Shinde said that Maharashtra has never seen such a 'treacherous person' and alleged that he betrayed Balasaheb Thackeray's ' ideas.'
'Arrogance is leading them to destruction. Maharashtra is witness to this. We know who committed the sin of tying Congress around their neck. He was helpless for power and tied his head around his waist. He betrayed Balasaheb's ideas. Maharashtra has never seen such a treacherous person', Eknath Shinde added.
Furthermore, Jadhav attacked the BJP stating, 'Which party has the BJP not allied with in this country? Is there any party left that the BJP hasn't formed an alliance with? Did they take a certificate of Hindutva from Ramdas Athawale when they aligned with him? From Chirag Paswan? Did Bihar CM Nitish Kumar ever accept Hindutva? What about Chandrababu Naidu? BJP's Hindutva is only for the sake of power. The real Hindutva lies with Shiv Sena, with Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, and only with Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray.'
On the Mumbai visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Jadhav criticised Home Minister Shah for being selective about which states to visit. Jadhav claimed, 'Understand that the Union Home Minister or the Prime Minister repeatedly visits a state where elections have come in that state. It gives such an indication. When there is an election, they go to the state; when there is no election, they do not go there, do not see anything ...'
Earlier, indicating that an alliance with Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) was on the cards, Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray said he would do what was in the minds of the people of the state.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) President also took a dig at the Mahayuti alliance, saying that the BJP and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena do not want Marathi parties to unite. The former Maharashtra Chief Minister, addressing the party's foundation day event on Thursday, said if the BJP dared to finish Thackeray, then he would 'finish off' the BJP.'... What people want will happen. We will see how it is to be done. The BJP and Shinde Sena do not want Marathi parties to unite. If you try to finish the Thackeray brand, we will finish off the BJP,' Thackeray said.
Uddhav said he would not allow the imposition of Hindi in Maharashtra. He remarked that just ahead of the BMC polls, the imposition of Hindi was nothing but an attempt to create division among Marathis and non-Marathis.'The imposition of Hindi in the state will not be allowed at any cost. The BJP wants to create a divide between Marathi and Hindi speakers on the eve of civic polls,' the Former Maharashtra CM said.
There has been speculation of Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena and Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) coming together ahead of the BMC polls, which are expected to happen in October this year. (ANI)

Jat bodies seek OBC quota for community in 3 dists
1 2 Jaipur: Jat organisations held a rally in Nadbai (Bharatpur) Sunday, demanding the inclusion of Jats from Bharatpur, Dholpur and Deeg in the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category for reservation in central govt jobs. The leaders issued a one-month ultimatum to the Union govt to act on the long-pending demand, warning of an intensified agitation that could include highway and railway blockades. The central govt provides 27% reservation for OBC. The rally was attended by top community leaders, including representatives of the Rajasthan Jat Mahasabha, Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal, and newly elected Bharatpur MP Sanjna Jatav. "If this 25-year-old demand is not met by the double-engine govt—Bhajan Lal Sharma in Rajasthan and Narendra Modi at the Centre—it would mean they are deliberately ignoring the Jat community," said Beniwal. He added that the govt only remembered the Jat community during elections or symbolic appointments. "They made Jats vice-president or governors only after the community showed its political and social strength," he said. Beniwal criticised Jat leaders in the BJP at both state and national levels for their silence on the issue. "The community is watching, and in the coming elections, leaders will be judged based on their commitment to this cause," he warned. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cardiologists Recommend: Eat 1 Teaspoon Tonight – Wake Up With a Flatter Stomach Hollywood News | USA Click Here Undo MP Sanjana Jatav called the exclusion of Jats from the OBC category in the three districts "blatant discrimination." "There's no justifiable reason to deny reservation to Jats in Bharatpur, Dholpur, and Deeg when their socio-economic condition is no different from Jats in other parts of the country," she said. "Even my own community (Scheduled Castes) supports this demand," she added. Jat leaders reiterated that the community is united on the issue and prepared to take their movement forward if no concrete steps are taken by the govt within the given timeframe. In Rajasthan, Jats are included under the 21% reservation for OBC. However, those domiciled in Bharatpur, Dholpur, and Deeg districts are excluded from the central OBC reservation scheme.

NPP can become NE's unified political voice: Conrad
Kohima: Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma asserted that NPP can become the voice the northeast has waited for if party workers remain rooted, practical and connected. He lamented that the region has long lacked a unified political voice and is often under-represented in national decision-making. The NPP president also emphasised that while his party holds a national status, its core strength and commitment remain rooted in the northeast. Addressing Nagaland NPP leaders and functionaries, the party national president reiterated his long-term vision of building the party's presence in the state, noting that shifting political scenarios in the region could open up new opportunities. "There's a shift happening in northeast politics. If we stay rooted, practical, and connected, NPP can become the voice the region has waited for," he said. Later, during an interaction with journalists, Conrad reiterated that the party's foundation rested on representing the voice of the indigenous and tribal communities. "While NPP is a national party, its strength is rooted in the region," he said. He emphasised that NPP will continue to take a strong stand on issues affecting the region, such as citizenship, identity and development. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 《皇者天下》女力集結直播不斷電!6/28~7/4活動服【三馬同槽】限時開啟,快來應援你最愛的女神,為女神打天下! 皇者天下 閱讀更多 Undo Highlighting the party's growing footprint, Conrad cited significant gains in states like Manipur — where NPP increased its vote share from 6% in 2017 to nearly 17% in 2022 — and in Nagaland, where the party grew from two to five MLAs in the 2023 elections. Emphasising the importance of building a strong, grassroots-based political platform that can represent the unique needs and aspirations of the region, the Meghalaya CM reflected on the journey of NPP. "Building a political party is no easy task, especially in the northeast, where local dynamics are deeply complex. But through perseverance and staying focused on regional issues, we've grown from a local platform to one of the six national parties in India," he said. Asked for his comment on Union home minister Amit Shah's comments suggesting a preference for Indian languages over English, Conrad clarified that while promoting regional languages is important, English remained indispensable in Meghalaya, Nagaland and much of the northeast. pti

Demolitions: Kejriwal Slams BJP
New Delhi: AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday urged slum dwellers to protest against the BJP-led govt's demolition drives and reject both the BJP and Congress in future elections. Addressing a protest at Jantar Mantar, Kejriwal said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi said 'Jahan Jhuggi, Wahan Makan', but what he meant was 'Jahan Jhuggi, Wahan Maidan'. His promises are false, and I urge you not to fall for them in future." He alleged that the Rekha Gupta-led Delhi govt has "ruined" the city in just five months. "We left a perfectly fine Delhi. But these people ruined it. There are long power cuts, school fees have been hiked, and their ministers and MLAs are busy looting Delhi," he charged. Calling for unity among slum dwellers, Kejriwal said, "There are 40 lakh slum dwellers. If you take to the roads, they will be forced to stop the demolitions." He added, "The Anna movement started from Jantar Mantar and removed the Congress from power. From here, a new movement will begin, and BJP's hold on power will also be shaken." "They lodged FIRs against Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, and Saurabh Bharadwaj. Stop this game of FIRs and work for the people," he said. Sisodia and Jain are facing an anti-corruption branch (ACB) probe into alleged irregularities in classroom construction, while Bharadwaj and Jain were recently booked for delays in hospital projects. He said the BJP has a "10-engine govt" controlling various agencies, yet worsened Delhi's condition in five months. "I told you they will break your jhuggis, you didn't believe… didn't they break your jhuggis? Wait for some time, they will stop your free electricity as well," he said. "In our 10 years, we never displaced slum dwellers. This govt didn't even wait a year—within five months, they started evictions," he added. "People who cook in homes, drivers, security guards, the milkman, autowallahs come from jhuggis... if you will destroy their homes, then Delhi would not run even for a day," he added. AAP leader Atishi said, "This govt promised homes, but is instead evicting people from settlements it used for seeking votes." Bharadwaj added, "Whenever slums are demolished or colonies labelled illegal, it is AAP that stands with the people."
