Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The event is expected to draw over 2 crore participants, including nearly 75 lakh students, 3.32 lakh teachers, and 1.49 crore parents, donors, and other stakeholders across more than 61,000 educational institutions. When a similar Mega PTM was held in Dec 2024 for the last academic year, 25.46 lakh parents, 27,395 alumni, 22,200 donors, and 36,918 public representatives participated across 44,956 schools. In addition to the regular parent-teacher-student interactions, local MLAs, ministers, and district collectors visited several schools during the event. They engaged with parents, teachers, and students to inspire pupils towards achieving excellence. Schools, decorated for the occasion, hosted a range of activities that brought joy and excitement to students. On the strength of last year's success, the education department is planning to expand the reach of this year's PTM. Samagra Shiksha state project director, B Srinivasa Rao, said that the state govt is undertaking this initiative to ensure quality education for all children and to promote holistic development across the state. "This goal can be achieved through a strong partnership between the school education department and the wider community. The role of parents is particularly crucial in the context of the RTE Act and the NEP, 2020, both of which emphasise public participation in educational progress," said Rao. "PTMs help parents understand their children's academic progress, behaviour, and social issues, while also enabling teachers to seek parents' cooperation for the benefit of students. To promote this collaborative effort, the govt has decided to organise mega PTM as celebratory events across all govt and private schools on the same day,"Rao added.
