Man, 19, charged with murder in fatal shooting at Kitchener tiny home community

Two people have been charged this week in connection to a fatal shooting in Kitchener last November at the tiny home community A Better Tent City in Kitchener.
A 39-year-old male was found with gunshot wounds on the afternoon of Nov. 30 around 4 p.m. at a location on Ardelt Avenue, in the area of Ottawa Street N. and Homer Watson Boulevard. He was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
On Tuesday, Waterloo regional police arrested and charged a 19-year-old from Waterloo with first-degree murder.
On Wednesday, a 22-year-old from Ottawa was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
Both the accused remain in custody.
At the time, police believed it was a targeted shooting and released a security camera photo of the suspect they believed was involved.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service worked with a number of other police services across the province, including Ottawa Police and the Provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) unit as part of the investigation.

A London man has been arrested after police say he sexually assaulted a woman last week. The incident occurred on Aug. 1 when a woman was reportedly walking on Dundas Street between Adelaide and Lyle streets between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. According to police, she was approached by a man in a vehicle, and after a conversation, she got in. Police said the man drove to a parking lot in the area of Dundas Street and Kathleen Avenue, where he allegedly sexually assaulted the woman, stole her clothing and belongings and fled the area. A citizen found the woman and called police, who transported her to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 27-year-old male was charged with sexual assault and theft under $5,000. He's in custody and scheduled to appear in court today.

Police are investigating a shooting at an apartment building near Danforth Road and Midland Avenue that left one person with serious injuries. Police are investigating after a 20-year-old man was found shot inside an apartment building in Scarborough on Tuesday afternoon. The incident happened in the Scarborough Junction neighbourhood, near Danforth Road and Midland Avenue. Toronto police say they were called to that area just after 2:45 p.m. for reports of a shooting inside an apartment building. Investigators said officers at the scene located a male victim who had been shot. Toronto paramedics told CTV News Toronto that they transported one person to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries. Police later confirmed that the victim's injuries are non-life-threatening. They said that the suspect fled before officers arrived at the scene. He is described as a Black male who is approximately five-foot-ten with a slim build. He was last seen wearing black clothing.
