Emmerdale fans 'work out' secret murder - but John's not the killer
There's a new murder theory being shared by Emmerdale fans, after a recent death on the ITV soap.
A character named Owen was recently killed off on the show, left to die by killer John Sugden who then framed him for Nate Robinson's murder. Owen was later found dead with his 'confession' believed by the police.
It comes months on from fans finding out John had accidentally killed Nate back in September before dumping his body in the lake. After the body was found a few months ago, John took action to cover his tracks before recently setting up Owen as the killer.
Robert Sugden, John's brother, was surprised to find out Owen's guilt given weeks ago the newcomer drugged him on a date. So when he realised John had been at Owen's home the day before he was found dead it set off alarm bells.
Owen's sudden death and the confession all happening just after the spiking too left Robert suspicious. The John connection has now left him convinced he is to blame and has framed Owen, cos Robert knows for a fact that Owen didn't kill Nate.
Robert knows this because he met with Owen's brother Steve, and found out Owen had an alibi for the night Nate left the village, or was believed to have. So the day Nate died, his 'killer' Owen was with Steve committing a crime.
Steve told Robert the pair had been doing something illegal, which is why he had not come forward. He had no intention of clearing his brother's name, even threatening Robert despite it being proof Owen was not the killer.
But some fans think there's even more to the tale, and that there's a different reason why Steve wants to stay quiet. Seeing his dark behaviour and some of the comments he made about Owen to Robert, fans think he might have caused Owen's death and made it look like an accident.
Fans are speculating that something happened with the crime they were committing, and maybe Owen went to spill the beans or Steve got greedy with whatever payment there may have been. Taking to social media one fan said: "I think Steve killed Owen. No other logical reason for him to threaten Robert and say 'stop digging.'
"If the police realise Owen didn't commit suicide, then they will question the validity of the suicide note and start listening to Robert." Another fan said: "Interesting theory! We have been shown that Steve was grossed out by Owen's sexual orientation, that dislike could very well go much deeper."

A third fan commented: "Maybe they got a lot of money from a dodgy job but Steve didn't want to split it with Owen so he killed him so he'd keep all the money, and also because they were related maybe Owen's death would lead to Steve inheriting all of Owen's stuff."
Another fan said: "Maybe Owen threatened to tell someone what they'd done and his brother had to silence him. Something just feels off - WHY would you let your brother be framed for murder if you KNOW he can't have done it?"

Lorraine Stanley, who played Karen Taylor in EastEnders, has opened up about her 6.5st weight loss EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley has become almost unrecognisable from her character Karen Taylor, the endearing yet perpetually scruffy mum she portrayed on the BBC soap from 2017 to 2024. The 49-year-old actress has shed an impressive six and a half stone over two years and next month will walk down the aisle after a two-year engagement to her fiancé Mark Perez, with whom she shares daughter, Nancy, nine. But transforming her body hasn't all been plain sailing. As well as expressing her excitement about her upcoming wedding, Lorraine has revealed the secrets behind her remarkable weight loss, which was aided by jabs. "I'm 50 next year and I'm feeling great," Lorraine told the Mirror. "I looked 20 years older when I was bigger. I certainly felt it anyway... I've lost 6½st. I weigh 8st now. "If you look at my little wrists and ankles, this is the weight I should have been. I should be a thin person. And I always was, until I hit my late twenties. "I'm not going to lie, nor am I promoting it, but I had weight-loss surgery two years ago. I had a gastric sleeve. I went to Harley Street. I didn't go to a clinic in Turkey or anything. "In saying that, I've had friends who've gone to Turkey and had great experiences, but I didn't trust that process. So, yeah, I went to a London clinic, paid an awful lot of money and had it done. "It's hands-down the best thing I've ever done – both for me and for my family." Lorraine said she was "missing out on so much" due to her size. She "so big" that she couldn't chase her daughter up the road or play football with her outside, until the weight loss surgery "changed everything". Lorraine said the "lightbulb moment" was when she was watching an episode of EastEnders she was in and she could "barely look at herself". "The person on screen was unrecognisable to me," she said, before explaining her experience with weight-loss injections. "I'd tried Wegovy before opting for surgery," the soap star admitted. "I have friends on different weight-loss jabs and they work for them. I'm not against them, but for whatever reason I feel like I got immune to them. "It got to the point where I was injecting myself and eating at the same time. I was thinking, 'What the hell are you doing?' So I decided that was it, time to get this surgery booked." Lorraine said she is "healthier, fitter, and [surgery has] changed her mindset for the better". "It has been hard, though," she noted. "You've got to work at your portions. Seeking guidance on Reddit, the woman shared that when she confronted her neighbours about the issue, they labelled her "unreasonable" and insisted they should be able to send their kids over without checking first. She explained that she has invested "a lot of time and effort" into creating a "peaceful oasis" in her garden for her family's enjoyment. Despite this, her neighbours, who have three young children, seem to think it's acceptable to let their kids use her garden as their playground without seeking consent. The woman recounted how the neighbours "claim that it's just harmless fun, and the kids enjoy our garden." She noted that while she isn't opposed to sharing her space on occasion, she would much prefer it if they asked for permission beforehand. In her Reddit post, the user said: "My next-door neighbours have three young children who are always full of energy. Lately, they've been letting their kids play in our backyard without asking for our permission. They claim that it's just harmless fun, and the kids enjoy our garden," reports the Mirror. "Here's the thing: I don't mind sharing our space occasionally, but they've been doing this without any notice or asking for our consent. It's become a frequent occurrence, and it's starting to disrupt our peace and damage some of our plants and decorations." Her neighbours "seemed offended" and said she was "being unreasonable." She added: "They argued that it's a shared space since our yards are adjacent." Concluding the post, she wrote: "I just want to maintain some control over my own space and ensure it's respected. Or am I overreacting, and should I be more lenient with the neighbour kids?" The post garnered thousands of responses, with many siding with the woman's desire to keep her garden private. Suggestions poured in about erecting fences to limit access, while others pondered how the neighbours would react if the roles were reversed. Amongst the feedback, concerns were voiced regarding potential injuries to the children on the woman's property. One person said: "If one of those kids gets injured on your property while playing without proper supervision, you could be held liable." Another added: "I'm not a lawyer, but I'd be concerned if one of the kids hurt themselves and any liability you may have, especially if you're not home. What if they break something, will they replace it. "No and each time you see them playing without permission tell them to leave or escort them home. You may need to get a fence."
