Sigrid is trying to not take herself "too seriously".
The 28-year-old star is "having fun again" on her new single Jellyfish, confessing that she "really wanted to be taken seriously" earlier in her career.
She told The Independent: "I'm so thankful for all of it, obviously, but it's kind of going through a washing machine. And I think on the second album [How To Let Go] , I really wanted to be taken seriously and I put a lot of heavy pressure on myself to write serious songs."
Sigrid admits that she adopted a much more relaxed attitude while making Jellyfish.
She said: "I think you can hear it in the song. I'm not trying to sing perfectly."
The music star - who released her debut album, Sucker Punch, back in 2019 - is actually happy to laugh at herself at this stage of her career.
She explained: "I take the p*** out of myself a bit with the new music as well. I'm trying to not take myself too seriously and allow myself to not always be the hero in a situation."
Sigrid actually considers herself to be "a bit of a word-of-mouth artist".
But the singer guarantees that fans will have a "good time" whenever she performs live.
She said: "I'm a bit of a word of mouth artist but when you go to a show of mine, you know you're going to have a good time."
Meanwhile, Sigrid previously admitted to suffering a crisis of confidence during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The music star's meteoric rise was suddenly halted by the global health crisis, and Sigrid admits that she struggled to cope at the time.
She told the Guardian newspaper: "With the success, I had that feeling that maybe I was cool. Then … boom! Isolation. Back home with my parents, in my childhood bedroom, remembering cringe moments of being 14.
"I got a bit scared of how quickly I adapted to this completely alternative life, where I was waking up in the morning, having breakfast with my parents, going for a hike and skiing.
"Like, the whole day was about getting to the peak of a mountain, skiing down and then coming home to talk about how the snow was while having dinner. There were no emails. There was no stress. I had this serene, alternative life, but there was this really scary thing going on at the same time."

Dolly Parton is putting new music 'on hold' as she grieves husband Carl Dean

Dolly Parton is putting new music "on hold" following the death of her husband Carl Dean. The 9 to 5 hitmaker finds it too "emotional" penning lyrics as she grieves her spouse of almost 59 years, who died aged 82 in March. Appearing on Khloe Kardashians' Khloe in Wonder Land podcast, on Wednesday (09.07.25), she said: '[There are] several things I have wanted to start, but I can't do it. 'I will later. I'm just coming up with such wonderful beautiful ideas, but I think I won't finish it. I can't do it right now, because I got so many other things.' The 79-year-old country music icon added: 'I can't afford the luxury of, you know, getting that emotional right now. There are times like that, things like that, that will stall you a little bit. But I'll write something else though, if it comes. … I'm just putting that all on hold.' Dolly's faith has helped her to cope with the heart-breaking loss. She recently told The Independent: "I am a person of faith, and I truly believe that I'm going to see him again someday. "And I see him every day in my memories and in my heart, and in all the things that we used to do and all the things that we've built together. You just kind of have to learn to kind of make new plans – but that's the hardest part." Dolly has felt lonely since losing her husband but is relieved he's "not suffering anymore" after being ill "for quite a while". She shared: "I really feel his presence. I just try to go on, because I know I have to. And he was ill for quite a while, and part of me was at peace that he was at peace and not suffering anymore. But that still doesn't make up for the loss and the loneliness of it." Carl was always "very proud" of the chart-topping country music star, and Dolly is determined to throw her "energy" into new projects. The Jolene hitmaker said: "When I did lose him, I just thought, well, I'm going to take all of that energy, and I'm just going to put that back into other things, and I'll keep him ever-present in everything that I do." Dolly described herself as a "workhorse that looks like a show horse". The singer - who has an autobiographical musical in the works - said: "My husband always said, 'If anybody was ever born to be a star, it's you.' Because he sees me loving to do all the things and playing and stuff – it's play time for me. But I take it very serious." Carl made a concerted effort to keep a low profile during his life, and Dolly previously admitted that they were "completely opposite" characters. She told People in 2015: "They say that opposites attract, and it's true. We're completely opposite, but that's what makes it fun."
