Hampton Beach shooting injures 3; suspect arrested after police pursuit in New Hampshire
A shooting at Hampton Beach in New Hampshire injured three people Tuesday evening. Police said 18-year-old suspect Divaris Ruiz was arrested after a car chase later that night that ended in Deerfield.
The shooting happened at about 8:30 p.m. in the area of Ocean Boulevard and Church Street, prompting all officers and New Hampshire State Police troopers in the area to respond to the popular summer destination, police said. Authorities asked people to stay away from the scene while they investigated.
Witnesses told police that they saw a "rowdy" group near the north bath houses, then someone fired multiple shots from a black sports car while it was moving.
The injuries to the three victims were not considered life-threatening, police said. Three cars in the area were also hit by bullets.

Police pursuit ends in Deerfield
Just before 10:30 p.m., investigators said State Police along with officers from Brentwood and Epping pursued the suspect vehicle in a chase that ended in Deerfield. The driver of the Ford Mustang, later identified as Ruiz, tried to run but was soon found and taken into custody, police said.
A 9mm semi-automatic Glock style gun was found in the car, according to police. The car also had a broken rear window that had damage consistent with a gunshot, police said.
Ruiz had a juvenile passenger in the car, police said. That boy's mother came to get her son at the police station, and told officers that Ruiz had picked him up so they could go to Hampton Beach, police said.
Ruiz, who lives in Manchester, is charged with multiple counts of first degree assault with a firearm and reckless conduct. He is set to appear in Hampton District Court on Wednesday.

Man flown to Boston hospital after fiery crash on I-93 in New Hampshire
A man was flown to a Boston hospital with serious injuries after he was pulled from a burning car on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire late Thursday night, officials announced Friday. Phoenix newborn found 'clinging to life' at home near dead mother
A welfare check in Phoenix revealed a woman who was possibly dead for several days and her newborn baby near her, still alive but in critical condition, according to police. Officers went to the woman's home near Central Avenue and Illini Street on May 14 after a neighbor hadn't seen or heard from a mother and her newborn in several days. Inside the home, officers discovered the mother had died, but her baby was still alive, "dehydrated and clinging to life," Phoenix police said. Officers opened a window to the apartment and saw the woman motionless on the floor and an infant lying on the bed visibly emaciated, according to police. Bodycam footage of the incident showed police entering the home, finding the infant, and removing the baby from the home to be evaluated by Phoenix fire officials. The newborn was taken to a hospital to recover. Police said the infant's condition greatly improved, and the newborn was expected to survive. Police said detectives took over the investigation, while the Department of Child Safety was working with investigators and family. The Office of the Medical Examiner is investigating the cause and manner of death of the baby's mother. Police have not released the woman's name. Ex-Salesian standout Deommodore Lenoir, now with 49ers, arrested for resisting peace officer
San Francisco 49ers defensive back Deommodore Lenoir was arrested Thursday afternoon in South Los Angeles. He was charged with delaying and resisting a peace officer, a misdemeanor. Another man, apparently a companion of Lenoir's, was arrested for possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle, which is a felony. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on the 4500 block of South Wilton Place. Officers spotted 25-year-old Marcus Cunningham 'frantically reaching' into a gray Cadillac Escalade. He then 'locked the vehicle and walked away, appearing to conceal contraband.' Cunningham threw the keys behind a gate when approached by officers, the LAPD told The Times via email, then 'Lenoir retrieved the keys, refused to give them back, and passed them to an unknown male who fled.' After additional officers located the keys on a nearby porch, the police opened the car and found 'a loaded semi-automatic firearm in the center compartment, a loaded Glock in an open compartment and narcotics,' the LAPD said. According to the L.A. County Sheriff Department's inmate information center, Lenoir was released on his own recognizance at 1:18 a.m. Friday and is due to appear in L.A. Superior Court on July 25. No release or court information was available for Cunningham. The 49ers released a statement Friday saying that they're aware of the matter and 'are in the process of gathering further information.' Lenoir, a former standout at Los Angeles Salesian High who played four seasons at Oregon, was selected by the 49ers in the fifth round of the 2021 draft. He signed a five-year, $88-million contract extension before the 2024 season.
