One of Notre Dame's top remaining ‘26 targets, S Nick Reddish, will commit later this week

USA Todaya day ago
This past weekend was another big one for Notre Dame football recruiting, as it added three new commitments to its 2026 class.
While there isn't much room left in the group, as it stands with 25 verbals, the Irish won't turn away a prospect that they believe can help the team. One of those players is North Carolina safety Nick Reddish, who will make his commitment on July 11th at his high school.
Notre Dame is one of three finalists along with Indiana and Wisconsin for the 5-foot, 11-inch and 185-pound star. Reddish is ranked as the No. 681 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite, and it is looking like he is leaning towards picking the Irish.
There are three 247Sports crystal ball projections logged for him, and each of them believes that the is going to pick Notre Dame. In just a few days, we will find out if they are correct, as the Irish could be adding another top player to its already impressive collection of committed members of the secondary.

Michigan football gains ground on 4-star DT Deuce Geralds, who sets Aug. 2 commitment date

Michigan football recruiting was on an absolute tear in the month of June and the start of July, but now, many of the remaining top targets are slowing things down as they decide if they want to play in Ann Arbor or elsewhere. One of the prospects that the Wolverines hosted for an official visit was 2026 Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill four-star defensive tackle Deuce Geralds, who took a midweek visit just before Victors Weekend. It had appeared as if the maize and blue weren't in the best position for Geralds, but after his trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan appears to have surged. But will it be enough? Geralds teased a big announcement on Wednesday and it turned out it was his commitment date (and not a commitment). With five schools in contention, Geralds will announce his school of choice on August 2. While Ohio State, LSU, and Ole Miss all made the cut, this appears to be a Michigan vs. Oregon battle. Given that he's not deciding today, that's perhaps good news for Lou Esposito and the Wolverines, as the Ducks probably have a slight lead at the moment. Michigan does have something of a logjam along the defensive line at the moment, with two defensive tackles (four-stars Alister Vallejo and Titan Davis) and four edge rushers (five-star Carter Meadows, four-stars McHale Blade and Julian Walker, and three-star Tariq Boney) all pledged. Geralds is rated the No. 73 player in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Caitlin Clark's much-anticipated return falls flat as Fever suffer blowout loss to Valkyries

Caitlin Clark made her long-awaited return to the court on Wednesday afternoon, but the Indiana Fever did not fare well against the Golden State Valkyries. The Fever were blown out by the Valkyries, 80-61, in a game where Clark went just 4-of-12 from the field for 10 points with six assists and five rebounds. Heading into the game, it was interesting to see how head coach Stephanie White would deploy Clark, who noted she doesn't necessarily like being on a minute restriction. Clark made 25 minutes, while averaging 33.3 over her first nine games. However, her time on the court may have been down due to the score late in the game. Golden State went into the fourth quarter owning a strong 64-51 lead, a big portion of that due to a 20-9 second quarter that created a large halftime deficit for Indiana. When the Fever weren't able to get back into the game, Clark was taken out with minutes still left to play, and she never saw the court again. Either way, it wasn't the best game overall for the Fever, as Kelsey Mitchell, Clark's guard counterpart, went just 3-for-13 from the field. And she wasn't the only one to struggle, as the Fever shot just 30.9% (21-for-68) from the field as a team. The Valkyries weren't much better, going just 26-for-70 from floor, but Veronica Burton and All-Star Kayla Thornton did well to cash in when it mattered most. Burton led the game with 21 points, while hauling in eight rebounds and dishing out six assists. She was cash from beyond the arc, hitting all but one of her six three-point attempts. Thornton didn't have the best shooting game (4-for-15), but she was able to notch 18 points thanks to four made three-pointers and six free throws. The Fever will look to get back in the win column against a tough opponent in the Atlanta Dream on Friday night at home. The Dream are 12-7 on the year, while Indiana fell to 9-10. 4-star DL Deuce Geralds announces commitment date with Oregon Ducks among top schools

Some speculation among Oregon Duck fans was sparked on Tuesday night when 4-star defensive line target Deuce Geralds teased a recruiting announcement for Wednesday. There were questions about whether a commitment was on the horizon, or an announcement of top schools and a commitment date instead. On Wednesday, we got our answer. Geralds announced that he is down to five schools: the Oregon Ducks, Michigan Wolverines, and Ohio State Buckeyes, LSU Tigers, and Ole Miss Rebels. More than that, Geralds announced that he will make his commitment official on August 2. Geralds is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 73 overall player and No. 9 DL in the 2026 class. While the Buckeyes were thought to be in the lead for a while, the Ducks have seemingly grabbed some momentum in his recruitment. After a recent run of commitments from the likes of 5-star Immanuel Iheanacho, 4-star Jalen Lott, and 4-star Tommy Tofi, Oregon climbed back into the top 10 of the national recruiting rankings. If they can add Geralds later this summer, it would keep them among the best in the nation for this cycle.
