4-star DL Deuce Geralds announces commitment date with Oregon Ducks among top schools
On Wednesday, we got our answer. Geralds announced that he is down to five schools: the Oregon Ducks, Michigan Wolverines, and Ohio State Buckeyes, LSU Tigers, and Ole Miss Rebels.
More than that, Geralds announced that he will make his commitment official on August 2.
Geralds is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 73 overall player and No. 9 DL in the 2026 class. While the Buckeyes were thought to be in the lead for a while, the Ducks have seemingly grabbed some momentum in his recruitment.
After a recent run of commitments from the likes of 5-star Immanuel Iheanacho, 4-star Jalen Lott, and 4-star Tommy Tofi, Oregon climbed back into the top 10 of the national recruiting rankings. If they can add Geralds later this summer, it would keep them among the best in the nation for this cycle.

Notre Dame football stays hot recruiting adding 2026 3-star safety Nick Reddish
It seems like every time Notre Dame is a finalist for an uncommitted prospect, they're winning out the battle and the trend continued on Friday with 2026 safety Nick Reddish. The 5-foot, 11-inch and 185-pound North Carolina star picked the Irish over Wisconsin, Indiana and Virginia Tech. Notre Dame's 2026 recruiting class now is up to 26 verbals, and there isn't much room left to add any other prospects. Reddish is the third safety in the class joining two elite others in Joey O'Brien and Ayden Pouncey. He's a bit smaller than his future teammates, as both of them have the size and frames to outgrow the position. As the No. 681 overall player in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports Composite. He's set to join an absolutely loaded position group, as Adon Shuler is expected to be a starter, while Luke Talich, JaDon Blair, Ben Minich and others battle out for the opposite starting job. That's not including either of the two transfers in Devonta Smith and Jalen Stroman, as the Irish possess one of the deepest units in the country. Reddish is a great addition to the room, as Notre Dame's class continues to impress.

Michigan Fans Question EA Sports College Football 26 Over Bryce Underwood's Ranking Among Freshmen
Michigan Fans Question EA Sports College Football 26 Over Bryce Underwood's Ranking Among Freshmen originally appeared on Athlon Sports. There's a lot of excitement surrounding the Michigan Wolverines and true freshman Bryce Underwood, who On3, 247Sports and ESPN rank as a five-star recruit and No. 1 player in the nation as part of the 2025 recruiting class. Advertisement Even before playing at the collegiate level, Underwood earned some exciting honors, including being the only incoming freshman to feature on the Deluxe Cover edition of EA Sports College Football 26. On Thursday, the standard edition of the game became available to users, meaning that Michigan fans can now go in and officially take over their team to compete for national championships with their freshman phenom. However, on Thursday, On3's Pete Nakos put together a list showcasing the top-50 freshmen in the game, sorted by overall ratings, with Underwood earning an 81, tying him for the sixth-highest. Advertisement The list quickly caught the attention of many Michigan fans, who questioned on social media why Underwood didn't earn a better overall. "Makes no sense why Underwood wouldn't be the highest freshman," said one fan. "How do they even come up with the stats to produce overalls for freshmen? No hate just a question, how is DK a 84 but Bryce is a 81?" Said another. "How is the consensus #1 recruit who is also a QB not the highest rated freshman? Not only that but tied for 6th lol," a fan said. A fan said, "Funny how the #1 recruit is not the highest rated but ok…" "Why is the number 1 recruit not the number 1 freshman?" A fan questioned. Advertisement "So the #1 ranked player in high school on all ranking sites isn't #1 in the game even though none of them have played an official college game yet," said another. Michigan Wolverines quarterback Bryce Underwood is an 81 overall on EA Sports College Football Han / USA TODAY Network via Imagn Images Underwood has the chance to quickly prove these ratings wrong as he fights to be the starter for Michigan's Week 1 game against the New Mexico Lobos on Aug. 30. The Lobos are favored in that game by 34.5 points, per ESPN BET. Coincidence? Baylor football has four 'Jamarion' commits in 2026 recruiting class
Baylor football has assembled quite the recruiting class for the 2026 season: The class not only has talented players, but also a weird coincidence. The Bears gained a commitment from high-end four-star defensive lineman Jamarion Carlton on Thursday, July 10, which in of itself seems like a normal occurrence in the recruiting calendar. However, with his commitment, it marked the fourth player whose first name is "Jamarion" to join Baylor's 2026 recruiting class. REQUIRED READING: Kansas State thinking College Football Playoff after Avery Johnson declined NIL offers Carlton joins four-star cornerback Jamarion Vincent, three-star linebacker Jamarion Phillips and three-star cornerback Jamarion Richardson, all of whom hail from Texas. There also aren't many instances of players named Jamarion in the sports world, outside of Alabama running back Jamarion "Jam" Miller, or NBA G-Leaguer Jamarion Sharp, who played collegiately at Western Kentucky. There are only eight players named Jamarion in 247Sports' database for 2026, seven of whom have reported scholarship offers and two of whom aren't rated on the star system. The only other player named Jamarion who has publicly committed is four-star edge rusher Jamarion Matthews, who committed to Alabama. According to the Social Security Administration, the name Jamarion peaked as the 418th-most popular male name in 2005. Jamarion didn't rank within the top 1,000 for any year after 2020 in terms of popularity. In short, the chances of the coincidence are incredibly slim. who wants to add to the Jamarion gauntlet? #JamarionU Carlton became the school's fourth highest-rated recruit ever upon his commitment, as he ranks as the nation's No. 39 overall player, according to 247Sports' Composite rankings. He's also the No. 4 defensive lineman and No. 5 player in Texas. Vincent is also a top-end recruit, tabbed as the No. 189 player in the country and No. 18 cornerback. He's the No. 11-ranked player in Baylor history. Here's a look at how each of the Baylor commits ranks, according to 247Sports Composite: It's not the first time there has been a glitch-in-the-matrix type roster coincidence. The Dallas Mavericks of the NBA had three players (J.J. Barea, Deron Williams, Raymond Felton) with the same birthday of June 26, 1984. They were also all point guards. Baylor's 2026 recruiting class, which ranks 39th nationally with 15 commits, might just be defined by how the Jamarions perform in their college careers.
