PS Plus Essential July 2025 games release time, when you can download them
More PS Plus games are on the horizon for Essential subscribers, with Diablo 4 leading the pack for a fresh dose of dark adventure.
A new batch of PS Plus games has been officially announced. It's welcome news for subscribers, particularly as this month's lineup is notably robust for Essential subscribers.
The early unveiling of the PS Plus Essential July 2025 games was quite a surprise, with Diablo 4 being revealed as the service's main attraction, arriving just as the Season 8 end date appears and ushers in a new wave of live service content.
The game will be featured alongside The King of Fighters 9 and rising indie title Jusant, making for an impressive month of complimentary games for subscribers. This should help soften the blow for players who must continue to pay for their online services, while PC gamers largely avoid this cost.
The timing is also fortuitous, especially given that excitement for FBC: Firebreak from the PS Plus Extra and Premium June 2025 games waned disappointingly quickly upon its release, despite its distinct Remedy feel. Fortunately, players now have a new online title to delve into with their mates. However, before we can dive into the new games, they need to be released. It's important to remember that this will push out the previous games from the service, so there's a collection of games to grab before they disappear.
Here's what you need to know about the PS Plus Essential July 2025 games release time.

A true Glasto legend, Smith's band are tied with Coldplay for the most headline appearances with four - their latest coming in 2019. And the frontman showed he still has what it takes to command the biggest festival of them all, a year on from The Cure's latest release - the dark, brooding, five-star Songs of a Lost World. If Rodrigo's audience weren't quite familiar with him at first, it wasn't long before they were singing along to his genius. Those at home revelled in the unlikely collab, with one writing on X: "As if Olivia Rodrigo's brought out Robert Smith ffs. Heaven!!" Another said: "Robert Smith still has one of the most magical voices ever, incredible musician." A third wrote: "Robert Smith on with Olivia Rodrigo. Now that's a proper moment." A fourth said: "I didn't have Robert Smith on my Olivia bingo card!!" The duo finished their partnership with another Cure track: Just Like Heaven. It was an accomplished headlining debut for Rodrigo. Surrounded by quality young musicians who know how to rock, she belted out her catchy hits and commanded the stage like a much more experienced performer. Incredible moment Olivia Rodrigo brings out Ed Sheeran at huge sold out BST gig ahead of Glastonbury For her encore, Rodrigo returned to the stage in a pair of sparkling Union Jack hotpants and launched into a raucous Brutal followed by All-American B*tch. While eyebrows were raised when she was unveiled as the second youngest headliner in Glasto history, behind Billie Eilish, the signs were there that it was an inspired choice. Her headline performance at BST on Friday night left no doubt that she was ready to perform on the iconic stage. During her set at London's Hyde Park she invited Ed Sheeran to the stage to perform his track The A Team, with the Brit troubadour another of her A-list fans. But the sell-out show belonged to her and she signed off with her anthems Good 4 U and Got Him Back! Tonight, as inflatable balls were released into the crowd, Rodrigo truly arrived as a global headline force.

Dave Grohl 'spotted' at Glastonbury as anticipation builds for Neil Young's set
Glastonbury 2025 has kicked off this week and music enthusiasts can expect to see some of their favourite musicians across the festival All eyes will be on Neil Young tonight as he headlines the Pyramid stage - and speculation is raging if the rocker will bring out any special guests. Rumours are sweeping the festival - especially after unconfirmed reports Dave Grohl was spotted on site. The Foo Fighters front man is a massive Young fan and credits the rocker as inspiring his previous band Nirvana. Grohl has said previously: "Not only is Neil a hero today because he's always walked it like he's talked it, and he has the history and integrity of a real legend, he's amazing, but, he's an incredible songwriter." Could anyone else take to the stage with Neil? Well some fans wonder whether Jon Bon Jovi could make an appearance after spotting him at Queen's Club for the tennis last week. The star has covered Young's song Rockin in the Free World before, and like Grohl, is a huge fan of the Canadian legend. Bon Jovi has form for duets - he was due to join Bruce Springsteen on stage at his BST Hyde Park show in London in 2023, but had to pull out after recovering from vocal surgery. Of course, Neil is playing BST too in two weeks - so could any potential Glastonbury duet be a warm-up to that too. While the BBC iPlayer is geared up to stream live from the main five stages, Neil Young's act was not expected to air – but that has since changed. A BBC spokesperson previously said: "On Saturday on BBC iPlayer, our Glastonbury Channel and five streams for the main stages will bring a range of live performances to audiences." They added: "At the artist's request, we won't be livestreaming Neil Young's set. Our plans, including those for our TV highlights shows and on-demand coverage, continue to be finalised right up to and during the festival." But, the star later had a change of heart as a BBC spokesperson later told the Mirror: "We are delighted to confirm that Neil Young's headline set from Glastonbury on Saturday will be broadcast live to audiences across the UK on the BBC." BBC iPlayer is due to offer over 90 hours of performances over the festival with live streams from the five main stages - Pyramid, Other, West Holts, Woodsies and The Park. This means that viewers are able to create their own list of must-see acts and plan their weekend watching schedule. Sets from the Pyramid Stage will be available to stream live in Ultra High Definition and in British Sign Language. While those who prefer to listen on the radio can tune into BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds. Saturday's line-up has a mystery act listed as 'Patchwork' performing from 6.15pm to 7.15pm on the Pyramid Stages. Speculation is rife that it could be anyone from Haim to Pulp to Chappell Roan but no one has been confirmed yet.
