EastEnders legend puts in a bid to secure the Vic as he lords it over everyone
With the pub now on the market, an unexpected potential buyer enters the frame next week – but they won't exactly make for a popular new owner.
As the week begins, current landlady Linda informs Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) of a change in strategy to sell The Vic, revealing it is set to go to auction.
This news soon reaches local entrepreneur Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), whose business brain is sent into overdrive.
He then tells mum Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and her partner Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) that he wants to rebuild the Beale empire and is going to bid for The Vic.
Of course, with this being Ian Beale we're talking about, the idea of becoming the pub's new landlord goes straight to his head, and he wastes no time in lording this over Kat and her cousin Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).
Stacey's mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) soon starts to worry about losing her cleaning job at The Vic if the Beales take over, given her recent history with Kathy over her affair with Jean's ex Harvey.
This prompts Kat and Stacey to come up with a plan, and Stacey later tells a furious Ian she has won £100k on a scratchcard and will be bidding for The Vic too.
But is everything about Stacey's windfall really as it seems?
Either way, it looks like it will be Kat who will win the bidding war, as reports have already claimed she will be The Vic's new Queen.
She previously ran the pub between 2010 and 2013 with husband Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), before Linda and husband Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) took over following their arrival in Walford.
Ian has also enjoyed a stint behind the bar too, as he lived in the boozer with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) in 2020, after the Carters temporarily sold the place to Sharon.

A bizarre turn of events saw longtime best friends Sharon and Ian get married, but Ian had no idea that she had been plotting revenge against him after finding out he had inadvertently been responsible for the death of her son Dennis Rickman (Bleu Landau). More Trending
High-camp scenes saw Sharon try to kill Ian with a poisoned Christmas pudding, but she soon had second thoughts and revealed the truth, before eventually forcing Ian to leave Walford.
Meanwhile, the pub was eventually sold back to the Carters in 2021, and Linda now owns it with her mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), following Mick's presumed drowning in 2022.

Diane Morgan says Mandy season four will bring ‘more violence and catastrophe'
The 49-year old, who created and wrote the show, will reprise her role in the comedy series to play the chaotic and jobless Mandy Carter whose adventures typically end in disaster. The fourth season, which is expected to air on July 21, will see more of Mandy's misadventures. Speaking about the new season, Morgan said audiences can expect: 'More of the same Mandy madness really, with perhaps less gurning but more sheer bloody violence and catastrophe. 'Mandy is still being forced to do jobs that she doesn't like and isn't any good at. Which I think everyone can relate to. 'She hasn't evolved at all, that's what makes her charming. She's learned nothing. Just keeps making the same mistakes, like all of us.' Speaking about the inspiration for the obscure situations Mandy finds herself in, Morgan added: 'They're all based on absolute fact. A lot of them are inspired by things that have happened to me. 'I've had a number of jobs that I've been fired from. Some I haven't even lasted an hour in. Acting's about the only job I've lasted more than a week in. So I have to stick with it. Morgan also said the make-up products used throughout production was entirely 'cruelty free'. She said: 'We decided to use only cruelty-free make-up products that haven't been tested on animals. We warned all the actors what we were doing and none of them had a problem with it. 'I think there should be a special logo at the end of the show to prove it. Most of the actors were amazed that some products aren't cruelty-fee. Some, well-known brands still test on animals and most people aren't aware of that.' The pilot episode aired in 2019 and was followed by its first season which consisted of six episodes plus a Christmas special which was transmitted in 2020. Speaking about how audiences received the show, Morgan added: 'It's complete surprise to me. I think it would just be a pilot that would disappear without trace… Some viewers have reacted to it in unusual ways. 'I've heard that at least four of them have turned vegetarian after watching an episode of the last series where Mandy gets a job in an abattoir, so that's good. Especially for cows.' Morgan is also best known for starring in BBC series Motherland and the mockumentary show, Cunk On Earth where she plays the ill-informed investigative reporter, Philomena Cunk – a character who was originated from Charlie Brooker's television review programme Weekly Wipe. In the series, Philomena is joined by experts who answer her questions about the progression of society as she tries to uncover humankind's greatest achievements and discover how humans came to be. The first episode of the new season of Mandy will air on BBC Two at 10pm.

Emmerdale confirms another death as killer John strikes again
Emmerdale's latest killer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) really is a tortured soul, isn't he? Unlike your average psychopath he doesn't get any pleasure from killing. In fact what he'd rather do would be to save lives all day long and bask in the admiration of others. Unfortunately, with one mess rapidly leading to another, he's ended up having blood on his hands on numerous occasions – and he's about to add another victim to the list. Since the body of Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) was found in the lake, John has been pained to see various villagers accusing each other of Nate's murder, because he knows he was the one responsible after accidentally killing Nate while trying to save his life after the barn fire. Nate's widow, Tracy (Amy Walsh), immediately blamed Cain (Jeff Hordley), who had beaten his son up shortly before Nate disappeared because he thought something was going on between him and Moira (Natalie J Robb). Cain blamed Tracy, and this seemed to have been confirmed when Nate's phone was found at Tracy's house, having been used during Nate's absence when Cain thought he was ringing his son. John had had the phone all along and planted it at Tracy's. As Nate's funeral looms in coming episodes, John is wracked with guilt that the two people who loved Nate the most are being torn apart by accusations and recriminations. So when an opportunity presents itself to put someone altogether different in the frame for the murder, John decides he can fix things, John style. By killing someone else. He's surprised when a man called Owen comes for an appointment with him at the surgery, because Owen is none other than the man John caught spiking Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley)'s drink. He throws Owen out of the surgery and this is witnessed by Robert, who thanks him for standing up for him – though Robert is still obviously wary of John generally. Later, Liam (Jonny McPherson) makes a house call to Owen, but he can't get an answer. Concerned for his patient's wellbeing, he calls the police, who break into the house and find Owen dead. More Trending And on the dead man's laptop is a written confession, saying that Owen was responsible for murdering Nate Robinson. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Cain and Tracy are soon informed of this development, and Liam gives the news to John back at the surgery. John manages to look suitably shocked, but is inwardly pleased that his plan has worked. But has it? One man who isn't taken in by this turn of events is Robert Sugden, who is suspicious about the coincidence that he saw John with Owen earlier. When the police start digging into Owen's background by investigating his medical history, Robert tries to find out more and Claudette (Flo Wilson) lets slip that John visited Owen's house shortly before his death.
