Former Texas A&M tennis star Carson Branstine has qualified for the Wimbledon Ladies' Singles Main Draw after defeating Raluca Serban in a three-set thriller.
Branstine was battle-tested, having fought through three grueling matches at the French Open. The two-time All-American claimed a trio of three-set victories, including a win over 2019 U.S. Open champion Bianca Andreescu.

This will be her first appearance at the Championships, scheduled for June 30–July 12 in London, England. She drew a tough opening-round matchup for her Grand Slam debut—World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. Branstine even joked about the draw in a lighthearted post on X.
Following her final qualifying win, Branstine reflected on her breakthrough week:
"I'm so tired right now. I don't know how I pulled that out of myself all my matches this week I would argue i had the most difficult draw out of anyone......I had three long three-set matches that where are equally physical in their own ways..."
"I'm just really proud of myself that I found an extra layer of energy"
Branstine was a key member of the 2024 Texas A&M women's tennis team that captured the national title over Georgia. Now, she'll carry that momentum overseas as she heads to England for Wimbledon.

Tennis Star Carson Branstine Turns Heads With Swimsuit Photo Ahead Of Wimbledon

Tennis Star Carson Branstine Turns Heads With Swimsuit Photo Ahead Of Wimbledon originally appeared on The Spun. Don't look now, but Carson Branstine is taking the tennis world by storm just in time for the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. Advertisement Branstine earned a spot in the main draw at Wimbledon by going on an impressive run during qualifiers. She started off her week by defeating French Open semifinalist Lois Boisson in a three-set thriller. That positive moment carried over into her next match against former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu. Though it's not much of a surprise, Branstine had another three-set thriller in her final qualifying match. This time around, she defeated Raluca Serban. If Branstine wants to make a run at Wimbledon, she'll have to take down the No. 1 player in the world on Monday. She's set to face Aryna Sabalenka in the opening around. The Canadian couldn't help but joke about their upcoming match. "Maybe one day I'll get a good draw LOL," Branstine wrote on X. Advertisement While defeating Sabalenka may seem unlikely, plenty of fans will be on her side. (Photo by Marleen Fouchier/)For starters, Branstine has become somewhat of a star on social media. Back in May, the 24-year-old from California shared a few swimsuit photos that grabbed everyone's attention. "Stunning," one fan said after seeing these photos of Branstine. "So good," another fan wrote. "A bombshell has entered the villa," an Instagram user commented. Another reason Branstine will have fan support on Monday is because Sabalenka made some questionable remarks after her loss to Coco Gauff in the French Open final. Advertisement "I think it was more windy. Also I think I was over emotional. Today I didn't handle myself quite well mentally. Basically that's it," Sabalenka told reporters. "I was just making unforced errors. I don't know. I have to check the statistics. I think she won the match not because she played incredible. Just because I made all of those mistakes, if you look from the outside, from kind of easy balls." We'll see if Branstine can shock the world and defeat Sabalenka at Wimbledon. Tennis Reporter Gets Ripped For 'Unprofessional' Emma Raducanu Question

Tennis Reporter Gets Ripped For 'Unprofessional' Emma Raducanu Question originally appeared on The Spun. Emma Raducanu has taken a very calm approach to her career on and off the court, but that hasn't stopped the tennis community from speculating about her personal life. Advertisement It was announced this month that Raducanu will team up with Carlos Alcaraz for mixed doubles at the US Open later this summer. They actually practiced together at Wimbledon earlier this week. Raducanu confirmed that her practice session with Alcaraz was in partnership with Evian. They're both ambassadors for the company. That hasn't stopped people from speculating about their friendship. During a media session this Saturday afternoon, Raducanu was asked about her dynamic with Alcaraz. There have been some rumors about them dating, but that hasn't been confirmed. "There's been lots of chatter online about your friendship with Carlos," a reporter asked. "Is there any truth behind the rumors?" Advertisement Raducanu replied, "We're just good friends." That ended up being the last question she faced for the day. "Extremely unprofessional to ask," one fan said. "Tennis reporter should not ask such questions," a social media user wrote. "Honestly .. what passes for journalists these days," another fan asked. "This is so cringe, like for this to move into mainstream media is ugh. Leave it alone because you're making everyone uncomfortable," one person commented. Advertisement The reporter who asked Raducanu this question has not yet revealed themselves. As for Raducanu, she's hoping to silence all the outside noise and make a run at Wimbledon. She made it to the fourth round of the tournament last year before losing to Lulu Sun. On Monday afternoon, Raducanu will kick off her quest for a Wimbledon title against Mingge Xu. Tennis Fans Want Reporter Fired For 'Tacky' Carlos Alcaraz Question

Tennis Fans Want Reporter Fired For 'Tacky' Carlos Alcaraz Question originally appeared on The Spun. With the 2025 Wimbledon Championships on the horizon, Carlos Alcaraz is trending because of his life off the court. Advertisement Earlier this month, Alcaraz asked Emma Raducanu to be his partner for mixed doubles at the US Open. She was more than willing to accept his offer. Once their partnership for the final Grand Slam tournament of the year was confirmed, fans started speculating about their connection. That speculation only grew louder when Alcaraz and Raducanu were spotted practicing together at Wimbledon. Raducanu later revealed they were working on something with Evian since they're both ambassadors for the brand. Despite their best efforts to keep the focus on tennis, Alcaraz and Raducanu haven't been able to dodge questions from the public. On Saturday afternoon, Raducanu was asked about her dynamic with Alcaraz. An unidentified reporter was wondering if there's a potential romance brewing behind the scenes. (Photo by AELTC/Joe Toth via Getty Images)Handout/Getty Images Raducanu handled this interaction with class, make no mistake about it. That doesn't change the fact that it was a ridiculous question. In fact, some fans want this reporter to face consequences for this question. "Tennis reporters should not ask such questions," one fan said. "This is getting ridiculous," a second fan wrote. "It is none of our business, leave them alone," a third fan commented. "Tennis reporters are so unprofessional. Some reporters, especially those from the UK. It is yet another example of the circuits, particularly the @wta failing to monitor the press conferences and protect their players," an Instagram user wrote. Advertisement "Leave them alone and let it happen organically if you do like them as a couple. Tacky otherwise, but it's the media so what else is new," another social media user said. As of now, the reporter hasn't apologized for their question about Alcaraz and Raducanu. Hopefully, this bizarre situation doesn't become the top story at Wimbledon this upcoming week.
