As Saiyaara continues to soar at the box office, buzz around
Kartik Aaryan
and
Sreeleela
's upcoming musical drama with
Anurag Basu
has intensified. With the film's release reportedly postponed, speculation is rife about whether Saiyaara's success played a role in the delay.
Anurag Basu sets the record straight
In a recent interaction with India Today, the filmmaker clarified that Saiyaara had no role in the delay. He acknowledged that comparisons were natural since both films revolve around performers but emphasized that the stories are completely different.
He further explained that Kartik was occupied with Karan Johar's film Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, while he himself was tied up with Metro… In Dino promotions.
He assured that shoot will resume soon, with plans to complete the film at the earliest.
Only half the film remains
Earlier this month, Basu told News18 that only half of the film remains to be shot and that filming will resume very soon. He has already set a timeline to wrap up production within a month. While the project is yet to be officially titled, it is widely speculated to be Aashiqui 3.
First look teaser
In February 2025, the makers unveiled the first look of the yet-to-be-titled romantic musical. Shared by Kartik Aaryan, the video opened with a cheering crowd as he performed on stage, playing the guitar and singing Tu Meri Zindagi Hai. Sporting a brooding look with a heavy beard and long hair, Kartik embodied the intense lover. The teaser also offered glimpses of his chemistry with Sreeleela, hinting at a fresh and sizzling on-screen pairing.

In a carousel shared on her Instagram, Michelle Yeoh recounted her time in Paris while attending an event where Italian businessman Diego Della Valle was honored with the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. Among the photos, one particular image caught fans' attention—Yeoh posing with Frédéric Arnault, CEO of Tag Heuer and son of LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault. Saiyaara Box Office Day 11: Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda Film Crosses Rs 250 Cr Mark In India
Last Updated: Saiyaara collected Rs 9.50 crore on second Monday, crossing Rs 250 crore in India and Rs 300 crore globally. Netflix release expected around Diwali. Mohit Suri's Saiyaara continues to impress at the box office, defying expectations with each passing day. The romantic musical drama starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda minted Rs 9.50 crore on its second Monday, as per early estimates by Sacnilk. While this reflects a drop from the weekend numbers, the film is still holding strong, especially considering it has no big stars backing it. With this, Saiyaara has officially crossed Rs 250 crore net in India and over Rs 300 crore worldwide—making it one of the biggest sleeper hits of 2025. The film is now eyeing the Rs 275 crore mark domestically by the end of its second week. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara has been lauded for its emotional storytelling, fresh casting, and soul-stirring soundtrack. It marks Ahaan Panday's acting debut and has also given a massive career boost to actress Aneet Padda. The film also stars Rajesh Kumar, Varun Badola, Alam Khan, Sid Makkar, and Shaan Groverr in supporting roles. According to a report by The Times of India, the makers have closed a deal with Netflix for the OTT release of Saiyaara. However, given its continued box office success, the film's digital debut has now been pushed closer to Diwali. This move is expected to give the film an extended shelf life and cater to festive viewers at home. Released on July 18, 2025, Saiyaara is loosely inspired by the 2004 Korean romantic drama A Moment to Remember. The film follows Krish Kapoor, a disillusioned musician who crosses paths with the introspective poet Vaani Batra. Together, they navigate love, loss, and healing in a story that has struck an emotional chord with audiences. From strong word-of-mouth to chart-topping songs, Saiyaara has become a shining example of how content-driven cinema can still draw crowds in a star-driven industry.
