Anurag Basu sets the record straight In a recent interaction with India Today, the filmmaker clarified that Saiyaara had no role in the delay. He acknowledged that comparisons were natural since both films revolve around performers but emphasized that the stories are completely different. He further explained that Kartik was occupied with Karan Johar's film Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, while he himself was tied up with Metro… In Dino promotions. He assured that shoot will resume soon, with plans to complete the film at the earliest. Only half the film remains Earlier this month, Basu told News18 that only half of the film remains to be shot and that filming will resume very soon. He has already set a timeline to wrap up production within a month. While the project is yet to be officially titled, it is widely speculated to be Aashiqui 3. Saiyaara Full Movie Collection: 'Saiyaara' box office collection day 4 (LIVE): The Ahaan Panday, Aneet Padda film expected to remain steady on Monday after making Rs 83 crore on opening weekend
'Saiyaara' starring and has broken all records as the highest opening weekend film with newcomers. The film had a historic weekend and crossed the Rs 80 crore mark just within its first three days. As the film continues to woo the audience, it is expected that 'Saiyaara' will remain steady even on Monday and that will be a huge factor in deciding the upcoming week trend of the film. While on Saturday, it made Rs 25 crore, the number on day 3 which is Sunday saw a growth further. The movie made Rs 35.75 crore on day 3. Now on Monday, up till afternoon, the movie has made Rs 5.62 crore. Thus, the total collection now stands at Rs 88.87 crore, according to Sacnilk. This is a historic run for a movie with newcomers. If the film remains steady on Monday even in the night shows, it may end up crossing Rs 100 crore on day 4 which will be another feat. There's just positive word of mouth surrounding the movie and as per Box Office India, it has done an unthinkable business in some mass centres of North, Bihar, West Bengal and Rajasthan and CI. Usually, it's only movies which do well in multiplex and single screens both, which manage to get those numbers and shockingly, 'Saiyaara' isn't just appealing to the youth at multiplexes in big cities but also small centres. That perhaps has got to do with the film's music and the ' ' nostalgia which the film is bringing. Many are also feeling that this one could just be 'Aashiqui 3'.
