Rodgers is excited about the final chapter of his NFL career. He joined the "Pat McAfee Show" recently and opened up about his free agency and the future.
When it came to the Steelers, Rodgers was happy to share exactly why he chose to sign with the team. Two people in particular were the major reasons for his decision.
One of those people is none other than head coach Mike Tomlin.
"Well, I've had conversations with Mike T every single week. And it was really through those conversations that this became a reality," Rodgers said. "So, you know, I think most people who come to the Steelers talk about one of the reasons being Mike T. And I can say that was right at the top. Just the conversations that we had, it felt like you were talking to an old friend, honestly. So I really appreciated those conversations throughout it."
Who was the other person? That would be star wide receiver DK Metcalf.
"DK is a lead by example guy, and he's a big reason that I'm in Pittsburgh, as well, the conversations that we had and just the kind of person that he is," Rodgers said.

Entering the 2025 season, Rodgers has thrown for 62,952 yards, 503 touchdowns, and 116 interceptions. He is coming off of a 2024 season with the New York Jets that saw him complete 63 percent of his passes for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
At 41 years old, Rodgers may not be the dynamic superstar that he once was. However, he is more than capable of being the quarterback that takes Pittsburgh back to being a legitimate Super Bowl contender if the rest of the time plays to its potential around him.
