Leak claims to reveal color options for the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL
It's hard to believe that the Pixel 10 line will be released this year. For the first time, the phones will be powered by an application processor (AP) designed by Google from the ground up. The Tensor G5 will no longer be made up of bits and pieces from Samsung and its Exynos chipsets. For example, the Samsung 5G modems used on past Tensor chips will be replaced with a MediaTek modem. Instead of being manufactured by Samsung Foundry using its 4nm node like the Tensor G4 was, the G5 will be built by leading foundry TSMC using its third-generation 3nm process node (N3P). There are quite a few reasons why Pixel fans should upgrade to one of the new Pixel 10 models . These are the same reasons why Galaxy S and iPhone users should consider giving the Pixel a shot this year.

Many consider the new Tensor G5 a good reason for switching since Google will have more of a say in the AP's creation which in theory means that it can add custom features to the Pixel 10 line.

Since the line will feature Android 16 pre-installed, it will receive updates up to and including Android 23. Rumors call for the Pixel 10 to start at the same $799 price as the Pixel 9. The Pixel 9 Pro was priced at $999 and up and the Pixel Pro XL started at $1,099. The Pixel 10 Pro is expected to keep the same pricing while the Pixel 10 Pro XL could start $100 higher at $1,199. If there is any great news about pricing for the upcoming Pixel 10 series, it would be the big price cut said to be coming to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold which is rumored to cost $1,599 and up down from the $1,799 and up price for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

EU country asks Apple and Google to remove AI app from their app storefronts
Back in January, the AI world was buzzing about China's DeepSeek AI. The Large Language Model (LLM) was trained for a comparatively low cost of $5.6 million using approximately 2,000 Nvidia H800 GPUs. That is a small percentage of the amount of money spent by OpenAI and Google to develop their LLM models like ChatGPT and Gemini, respectively. For a brief period of time, DeepSeek became the number one free app in the U.S. App Store surpassing the previous leader, AI LLM app ChatGPT. However, it soon become known that answers were regulated by the Chinese government especially if the response to a query could make China and its government look bad. Additionally, DeepSeek's own privacy policy revealed that DeepSeek keeps user's personal data, including user prompts and uploaded files, on servers in China. The country's intelligence laws allow the government to access these files. Today, Germany's top data protection regulator demanded that Apple and Google remove the DeepSeek app from the App Store and Google Play Store respectively. Meike Kamp, Germany's data protection commissioner, said that she made the request to Apple and Google because DeepSeek transfers users' personal data to China illegally. -Meike Kamp, Germany's data protection commissioner Italy and South Korea have already had the DeepSeek app removed from local app stores and in the Netherlands the app has been removed from government devices. But what happens next in Germany? Apple and Google will review the request from Kamp's team and decide whether they should remove the app from the German App Store or Play Store. T-Mobile-owned MVNO reminds its iPhone subscribers to update in order to use RCS
Before Apple released iOS 18.4 in late March, only iPhone handsets connected to major U.S. carriers offered Rich Communication Services (RCS) as a messaging option for iOS users. For those unaware, RCS is the messaging platform that gives Android users many of the same features that iPhone users get when chatting with fellow iOS users with the Messages app. That means RCS brings to Android users: The ability to send longer messages. High-resolution photos and videos. Typing Indicators. Read Receipts. Ability to share larger files. Wi-Fi and Data connectivity. Of course, Apple being Apple, at first it wouldn't allow iPhone users to use RCS when messaging Android users on the RCS platform. Despite Google constantly attacking Apple asking it to support RCS, it took the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA) legislation to make Apple feel as though it had no choice but to support RCS. As we noted, originally only the three major stateside carriers offered iPhone users the ability to use RCS when chatting with Android owners. Once Apple released iOS 18 .4, several T-Mobile MVNOs started hooking up their iPhone users with RCS compatibility, and one of these firms, Mint Mobile, has begun sending emails to its subscribers urging them to make sure that their iPhones are running at least iOS 18 .4. One important feature of RCS not available yet for cross-platform RCS messaging is end-to-end encryption. Currently, in-transit encryption is available for all messages sent over RCS including cross-platform chats. This means that your chats are encrypted as they travel over the internet between your device and RCS servers preventing your messages from getting intercepted by someone "listening in" on the network.
