Call to admit dropouts in schools
A meeting of the district-level awareness monitoring committee was held at the Collectorate here on Thursday on the implementation of 'Nenu Badiki Potha' programme. On the occasion, the collector unveiled posters published by Sarva Shiksha as part of the programme to enrol dropouts in schools.
Speaking on the occasion, Vetriselvi said that it is a social responsibility to complete the student enrolment programme 100 per cent in the district. Village, mandal and division level committees have been formed to get school dropouts back into school. In the meeting, the importance of education and the various facilities provided by the government in government schools should be informed to the parents and steps should be taken to enrol their children in school. The differences between the enrolment of children last year and this year should be identified and dropouts should be admitted to school accordingly. A door-to-door awareness programme should be organised at the field level for the next 15 days.
Similarly, efforts should be made to visit the area to identify where most children are not attending and enrol them.
The top 10 mandals with dropouts should be identified and the district authorities should adopt them and take measures to prevent dropouts.
In particular, efforts should be made to keep the district a dropout-free district in coordination with the education, medical, ICDS, labour, revenue and welfare departments. All school-age children should be enrolled in schools and the relevant officials should submit a resolution declaring that there should be no out-of-school children at the level of secretariat, village, mandal and division. Special monitoring should be done to ensure that the enrolment of students in all welfare hostels under the Social Welfare, BC, Minority and ITDA areas of the district is 100 per cent. A helpline number 9533399981 has been set up to provide information regarding dropouts. To make the district a dropout-free district under the 'Nenu Badiki Potha' programme, the committee will have the RDO as Chairman, Deputy DEO as Convenor, DLDO and CDPO as members at the district level and the division level.
Similarly, at the mandal level, the MPDO as Chairman, MEO as Convenor, Tahsildar, Anganwadi Supervisor, School Complex Head Master, Panchayat Secretary, Cluster Resource Person, SHG Member and Parents as members. The village and ward level enrolment committees will have welfare and education assistant as convenor, Anganwadi worker, ASHA, ANM, VRO, school headmaster as members. These enrolment committees will be responsible for 100 per cent enrolment, zero dropouts, and door-to-door awareness programmes.

Mass tree plantation drive As part of the programme, a mass tree plantation drive will be undertaken. The Forest Department has prepared 1,64,170 saplings, which will be distributed to schools through nearby nurseries. Students will plant these saplings on their respective school premises. The Collector also instructed private school managements to conduct the event with equal enthusiasm and to organise preparatory meetings. A special control room will be set up to monitor the arrangements. All event-related activities—including preparations and real-time execution—must be documented and updated on the LEAP App. Health check-ups Meanwhile, the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) informed that health check-ups have already been completed for 1,54,113 students in government schools, while screenings for junior college students will conclude within two days. Health cards are being prepared for distribution.

Eluru Collector Vetriselvi launches intensive drive to achieve 100% school enrolment in district
Elur district Collector K. Vetriselvi has called for coordinated efforts from parents, teachers, and government officials to ensure that all children aged six to 14 in the district are enrolled in schools. Speaking at the District-Level Awareness and Monitoring Committee meeting on the 'Nenu Badiki Potha' (I Will Go to School) campaign on Thursday, the Collector emphasised that achieving 100% school enrolment is a collective social responsibility. To this end, committees have already been formed at the village, mandal, and division levels, which will spearhead the 15-day awareness campaign through door-to-door outreach, identifying dropout children and motivating their families to re-enrol them. The Collector instructed schools to conduct Parent Committee meetings over two days to highlight the benefits of education and the wide range of facilities provided by government schools. 'Only through field-level engagement and visits to areas with high absenteeism can we bridge enrolment gaps,' she said. The Collector directed all departments to coordinate their efforts — particularly Education, Health, ICDS, Labour, Revenue, and Welfare—to eliminate dropouts. The top 10 mandals with the highest dropout rates are to be 'adopted' by senior district officials who will take focused action to reintegrate children into the education system. Helpline As part of the campaign, a helpline (No. 9533399981) has been set up to report dropout-related information. Special monitoring will also be undertaken in Social Welfare, BC Welfare, Minority, and ITDA-run hostels to ensure full enrolment. The meeting marked the official launch of a wall poster under the 'Nenu Badiki Potha' campaign by Samagra Shiksha, aimed at bringing school dropouts back to school. The Collector stressed that the objective is not just enrolment but ensuring zero dropouts across all villages, mandals, and divisions of the district. .
