Raven-Symoné has controversially labelled becoming a parent a "narcissistic" act.
The 39-year-old actress, who has been married to Miranda Maday since 2020, doesn't have any children of her own. During a conversation with The Chi creator Lena Waithe on the Tea Time with Raven and Miranda podcast they discussed why anyone would choose to bring children into the world.
Lena asked: "Whenever someone says to me they want to have a baby, or they want to be a parent I think my first question is: 'Why?'
To which Raven responded: "It's a narcissistic act." Lena simply agreed: "True."
In the same discussion the former That's So Raven star was exploring the concepts of labels and communities with Lena.

She said that abandoning "toxic mentalities" to embrace the wider world is the only way to "learn" as an individual.
"When you leave that toxic mentality you're integrating yourself into the world and that's better for me," Raven added.
"I love the fact that we are on a planet with so many types of thought processes and so many different types of cultures. We can learn from every single culture, from every single religion, and if you're just stuck in one group all the time you are never gonna grow.

"I have gotten in trouble a lot with things that I have said but that is ultimately what my brain wants to do. I want to travel to every single country and say: 'Oh, you cook chicken better than me, I'm gonna eat your chicken too.' Yay me! Y'all know who cooks that fried chicken, it's not just black people. This s*** is delicious.
"I do wanna go to Africa and see the beautiful with the red clay on their skin, I wanna go to India and see the beautiful women with yellow clay on their skin.
"There's so many ways and people to learn from and if you just stay in that circle and condemn your people for venturing out then that is toxic."

Why you need to start toy hauls for Christmas today – one savvy shopper shows where to snap up Star Wars figures for 1p
GIVEN we have just hit August, it may seem very early to be thinking about buying Christmas presents. However, a shopper has revealed how they made a huge dent in their shopping list thanks to a toy sale at Sainsbury's - with some items down to 1p. 5 5 Shopper Sam wrote on the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK: 'Thank you to the people that posted about the Sainsbury's sale. 'I have started my Christmas shopping.' They shared the huge haul of presents they walked away with for a discounted price - and they looked like they'd keep kids very happy indeed. The best discount they found was Star Wars figures down to just a penny. The bargain hunter added: 'Everything was marked on the shelf apart from the 1p Star Wars but I was using the scanner so thought I would check.' The shopper also snapped up some Ninja Turtles plush toys, and showed how they had picked up three different characters. These were just £2 in the sale, and could be ideal for stocking fillers. She wrote: 'Gutted they didn't have all four but they had duplicates left.' They also got some Hot Wheels Colour Revealing toys that looked like they would be a big hit for car enthusiasts. These were down to just £3.50 in the supermarket sale - and she had found them in the Cheshire Oaks shop. Home Bargains is selling a 'fantastic aquarium' and rainbow sprinkler for cheap - it's great for the warmer weather 5 CLOTHES SALE We recently shared how Sainsbury's has launched a huge baby clothes sale and some of the products cost just 90. The brand's sale has seen them halve the cost of some of their products and some of them are perfect for summer holidays. Sainsbury's has a massive collection of clothes, available through its fashion brand Tu. Their babywear is particularly popular and the supermarket has slashed the price of many of its products as part of a massive sale. Its collection of bibs - which can read 'I love you mummy' or 'daddy' - now cost just £1.50, after a 50 per cent price reduction. However, some products now cost even less than that. The My First Holiday T-shirt is perfect for vacations with your baby and costs just 90p. Other products in the sale include animal themed leggings, which come in a variety of colours and designs. The blue leggings have elephants printed on them, while the yellow pairs have giraffes included on their design. The leggings, which can also have apple designs on them, cost £1.50. How to save money on Christmas shopping Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping. Limit the amount of presents - buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb. Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you're not having to buy multiple presents. Plan ahead - if you've got the stamina and budget, it's worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales. Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you're not forking out more than you should though. Buy in Boxing Day sales - some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25. Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent. Shop via outlet stores - you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts. They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.

Fashion lovers rush to M&S to snap up perfect pumps that are ‘so pretty' for summer – and they come in various colours
IF you are looking for the perfect summer shoe, M&S may have the answer. The retailer has brought out a gorgeous ballet pump that looks ideal for days out or holidays. 4 4 If towering wedges aren't your style, these satin flats could be a more comfortable alternative, and they come in a range of different colours. Shoppers can snap them up in M&S stores in a dusky pink or sage green. The sweet shoes have a bow at the front and ballet-style straps over the top. Marks and Spencer described the £40 pair in their clip as the 'most pretty shoes' - and shoppers rushed to the comments in agreement. One wrote: 'So beautiful.' Another added: 'They're lush.' M&S confirmed that you'll have to head to your local store to pick them up for now, as they aren't online yet. They shared: 'I believe they aren't available online yet but they are definitely in store. 'It's a new line so fingers crossed it will be online soon.' It's not the only M&S item to cause a stir recently. I've found the perfect summer top from M&S, and I'm even more excited now I can finally shop there online again 4 Their denim collection is just as raved about, but there is one pair in particular that has fashionistas in a frenzy. POPULAR PAIR The M&S High Waisted Carrot Leg Ankle Grazer Jeans have been hailed as 'universally flattering.' The carrot leg style is wider on the thighs and slims down towards the calf, creating a curvy silhouette. The ankle-grazer jeans now come in four colours, indigo, bleach-wash, white and black. This stylish wardrobe staple also comes with a forward seam to give it a contemporary look. The £39.50 jeans come in various sizes from a 6 - 24 in lengths short, regular and long. And M&S has just restocked them again, but you'll have to be quick to bag them. Since their release last February, the jeans have repeatedly sold out almost as soon as they were restocked, with shoppers claiming that they are perfect for all body shapes. Why Everyone Is Loving M&S Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale revealed to Fabulous why M&S is the shop of the moment. She explained: 'M&S has really pulled it out of the bag this season, there is so much good product to be excited about. 'A brand once known for its 'frumpy fashion' that notion is long gone with it now being one of the leading high street stores for womenswear. 'Its handbag range in particular is super strong with them selling 170% vs plan, with lots more designer dupes for just a fraction of the price. 'The brand is now also the #1 for style perceptions, compared to the #3 spot it had last year, this comes from a really strong design team focused on modernising the brand, not only taking into consideration how the pieces look, but how easy they are to wear also. 'Price is also a big factor with you being able to get many good quality pieces all for under £30. 'After having a sneak peak of the upcoming collection there are so many more amazing pieces that are dropping over the next few months to keep your eyes on. 'Think leopard print dresses, colourful co-ords, embroidered boho jackets, plus lots of swimwear and amazing accessories, as well as great wardrobe staples that will last year on year.'

Twisted Metal – Season 2 Episode 1 'PRSRPNT' Recap & Review
PRSRPNT Episode 1 of Twisted Metal season 2 kicks off in San Jose, California. We're back in 1998 where we see a young Raven rock up at a graduation party with her friend (see: lover) Kelly. They're teased by the other kids as Raven goes through her tarot cards, which quickly changes the mood of the party entirely. However, the prank the pair have concocted takes a turn for the worst when Kelly hits her head and falls in the pool. When Raven finds out, she races outside but it's too late – her friend is found face-down in the pool. Back in the present, in New San Francisco, John Doe is kept under lock and key. John is forced to practice his driving skills (using an arcade machine playing Twisted Metal!) while continuing to eke out a living as a delivery driver. He amusingly uses the alias of John Dough but John is kept under tight wraps. John is eventually reprimanded by Raven though, as she reminds him that he needs to get his act together. The only way out of this is to drive to survive (no pun intended) and help save Kelly. Meanwhile, Dollface, Quiet, and the other Dolls continue to hit supply lines, desperate to take down the City. They're determined to upset the status quo and set out to destroy the Wall of the City to redistribute wealth to those outside. They way they intend to do this, as Quiet suggests toward the end of the episode, is to compete in a winner-takes-all tournament. The idea of death and survival segues us nicely into Sweet Tooth and Stu, who we catch up with out maiming and killing. Stu is still a student in the academy of Sweet Tooth killing, and hasn't got his degree just yet, but the pair are determined to kill the more fearsome killers and claim that accolade for themselves. On the hunt, the pair learn about the legend of Big Baby, a man who apparently wiped out an entire town in one day and is the most infamous killer in these parts. Sweet Tooth and Stu eventually catch up with this guy, who certainly lives up to his name. He has an umbilical cord with a mace attached on the end, which he use as a weapon. While he fights with Sweet Tooth, Stu and the mum fight together. The pair easily thwart the killers… only to find out there's an even bigger killer out there called the Trash Man. He's the biggest killer this side of the Mississippi. Instead of playing whac-A-Mole and taking these killers out one at a time, Sweet Tooth leaves Stu with a plan to bring all the killers to them. Grounded, John Doe has no choice but to sit down with some quality reading material. That, of course, stems from The Babysitters Club series. When John fails to find Volume 89, he hunts upstairs and finds the volume… carved out and stashing weed inside. John also finds a diary with a secret map that could be his way out of this. One of the guards (who isn't the sharpest tool in the shed) helps John escape too. They switch clothes in order to do so, and John Doe manages to slip out undetected. In the parking lot, he finds an ambulance sporting Kelly inside, who's still alive but comatose and on life support. All of these loose threads are connected together by a special broadcast set out by Calypso. He's hosting a tournament and wants everybody to attend. In a week's time it'll begin with a battle of survival. Whoever wins will get one wish granted, no matter what it may be. As the episode closes out, John is stopped on his way out the city driving the ambulance by the dolls. On the road, they flip the ambulance and Quiet winds up shooting him in the shoulder. John is not happy when he finds out Quiet is the one who's hit the kill shot. However, in a nice little twist, it appears that Dollface may actually be John's sister. Before leaving, he's sure to drop off Kelly and her life-support machine in the parking lot, much to the relief of Raven. Well, until she notices a ripped page from the diary in her hand. The Episode Review So Twisted Metal is back and this crazy comedic drama wastes no time picking up right where the action left off. The familiar comedic beats, mixed in with the gory drama, works just as effectively here as it did the first time around, with everything gearing up for this big tournament. Understanding more about Raven's history is definitely a nice touch, while the show does well to keep things interesting – at the moment anyway – as it's unclear who's going to come out of this in one piece. Twisted Metal has all the ingredients to be just as insane as season 1, so we'll have to wait and see where this one goes next.
