Singer Chris Brown pleads not guilty in London assault case

Chris Brown
pleaded not guilty Friday to a charge related to the serious beating of a music producer with a bottle in a London nightclub in 2023.
Brown, 36, pleaded not guilty in Southwark Crown Court to one count of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
Brown's friend and fellow musician Omololu Akinlolu, 38, who performs under the name "Hoody Baby," pleaded not guilty to the same charge.
Prosecutors said Brown and Akinlolu assaulted producer Abe Diaw at a bar in the Tape nightclub in the swanky Mayfair neighborhood in February 2023. Brown allegedly launched an unprovoked attack on Diaw and hit him several times with a bottle and then punched and kicked him.
The attack was caught on surveillance camera in front of a club full of people, prosecutors said.
Brown was released last month on 5 million-pound ($6.75 million) bail, which allowed him to start his world tour earlier this month.
Brown, who burst onto the music scene as a teen in 2005, won his first Grammy for best R&B album in 2011 for "F.A.M.E." and then earned his second in the same category for "11:11 (Deluxe)" earlier this year.
His hits include songs such as "Run It," "Kiss Kiss" and "Without You."
His tour is due to kick off June 8 in Amsterdam before starting North America shows in July.

I had a feeling…yes.' The video quickly went viral and generated backlash from Jewish advocacy groups, retailers, and social media users. In the past, Kattan has accused Jews of organ harvesting and running global pedophile rings, the report added. TikTok stated that they do not allow any misinformation that could cause significant harm to individuals or society, regardless of intent." Kattan and Huda Beauty, however, have not responded to media requests for comment. A manager previously listed as a representative for the entrepreneur told CNN they no longer represent her. How X users reacted to Huda Kattan's comments The comments ignited a storm on social media. One X (formerly Twitter) user asked why Sephora was still carrying Huda Beauty's products. Another said they would boycott the brand. Some people did come out in the beauty mogul's support. Jewish groups call comments 'dangerous' The BBC report stated that the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and American Jewish Committee (AJC) issued sharp rebukes and called Kattan's statements antisemitic conspiracy theories and 'centuries-old hate repackaged'. The AJC was quoted in the report saying, 'This is not criticism of Israel. It is vile antisemitic rhetoric.' Meanwhile, ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt added that spreading vile myths about Jews to millions is 'dangerous'. 'Huda Kattan built a brand around beauty but these antisemitic conspiracy theories are nothing short of ugly hate,' said Greenblatt. The CNN report added that Jewish groups and customers are urging retailers like Sephora to sever ties with Huda Beauty. Despite the controversy, Sephora has not yet commented on whether it will continue to stock the brand, added CNN. Kattan previously faced boycott threats for her vocal support of Palestine, including a viral response last October when she told an Israeli critic, 'I don't want blood money.' NASA Astronaut Back In Orbit 20 Years After Bihu Dance On International Space Station
NASA astronaut Mike Fincke is currently aboard the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the newly launched SpaceX Crew-11 mission. This isn't his first time in orbit. His return to space brings back a special memory of the time he danced Bihu in zero gravity. Mr Fincke had famously performed the traditional Assamese dance during a previous expedition to the ISS in 2004. Wearing a red-and-white gamusa (an Assamese scarf) around his neck, Mr Fincke floated in microgravity, executing the traditional steps. What's #RongaliBihu without song and dance. There should be somebody from you to dance Bihu in space." Now, over two decades later, he is once again orbiting Earth, this time alongside fellow NASA astronaut Zena Cardman, JAXA astronaut Kimiya Yui, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov. The crew lifted off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on August 1 and will spend the next six months on board the ISS conducting research that supports future missions to the Moon and Mars. After the members of Crew-11 enter the @Space_Station, the full station crew takes part in a welcome ceremony, marking the beginning of Crew-11's mission aboard the orbital outpost. — NASA (@NASA) August 2, 2025 The Dragon capsule docked with the ISS early Saturday, August 2, and the crew was welcomed aboard shortly after.
