P. Ramlee Honoured as Symbol of Unity at Tribute Event
She said P. Ramlee's lifetime creative works transcended racial and religious boundaries, depicting the lives of ordinary people with profound humanity, including love, mutual respect, looking out for one another and a strong sense of family.
'I believe messages of unity reflected in the works of P. Ramlee, whose real name was Teuku Zakaria Teuku Nyak Puteh, will continue to be remembered, remain relevant and serve as a beacon for the harmony of Malaysia MADANI.
'This aligns with the government's aspiration to foster a united MADANI society that is respectful of one another, regardless of race, culture, or religion. P. Ramlee has left us with a timeless legacy through his creative works and brilliant ideas,' she said when officiating the closing ceremony of Minggu Kenangan P. Ramlee: 'Satu Dalam Sejuta' and the music forum 'Kisah Di Sebalik Lagu' here today.
According to her, messages of harmony, unity, cooperation, and mutual respect were brilliantly captured and highlighted in the artiste's works.
Also present were National Archives director-general Datuk Jaafar Sidek Abdul Rahman, Penang P.Ramle Fan Club president Tan Sri Yussof Latiff and renowned lyricist Datuk Habsah Hassan.
Various programmes were lined up throughout the event, including a lecture by preacher Datuk Mohamad Kazim Elias, better known as Ustaz Kazim, titled 'Sedangkan Lidah Lagi Tergigit' on May 24 and the 'Satu Dalam Sejuta' run on May 25 at Padang Kota Lama.
Saraswathy elaborated that the programme aligns well with the aspirations of Ikhtiar 4 under the National Unity Ministry's 2025 Strategic Plan, particularly within the Socio-Cultural Community Cluster: Semarak Perpaduan, which aims to deepen appreciation for national heritage, instil pride in cultural identity and strengthen bonds among Malaysia's multiracial communities through the arts and shared history.
'Besides that, collaboration and partnership in organising such programmes are crucial in efforts to preserve the nation's cultural heritage. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage government agencies, non-governmental organisations, and corporate bodies to collaborate in forming similar partnerships for the benefit of society and the nation.
'May the National Archives' aspiration to disseminate information and strengthen public understanding of unity through the messages conveyed in P. Ramlee's works be successfully realised. It is hoped that through these efforts, the spirit of cohesion and harmony among the Malaysia MADANI society can be preserved,' she added.

MYTV Mana-Mana offers premium TV content ‘priced for Malaysians'
Malaysians can now look forward to even more local and international content with the launch of MYTV Mana-Mana Premium, at an affordable RM6.90 a month. This upgrade comes two years after the introduction of the local over-the-top (OTT) streaming platform that provides free digital content across a range of genres including news, entertainment, lifestyle and education. With the premium option now available, MYTV Broadcasting – the company behind the platform – offers not just 22 live TV channels and 22 live radio stations, but also video-on-demand content and MYTV original shows. And importantly, the premium version comes without advertisements, providing viewers an uninterrupted experience. At the official launch of the service in Kuala Lumpur recently, group chief executive officer of MYTV Broadcasting, Mohamad Helmi Harith, stressed that the introduction of the premium model does not mean the end of the free service. 'Yes, today we're launching MYTV Mana-Mana Premium – but I want to make one thing very clear – the free version, which is already available, is still here and will continue to be here for everyone to enjoy,' he said. 'That remains our commitment because MYTV Mana-Mana was created for all Malaysians, from every walk of life.' He added: 'Now, for those who want more – more choices, more live TV channels, more original content and more on-demand shows – we're unlocking the next level. 'MyTV Mana-Mana Premium is our way of offering a richer experience at an affordable price.' 'Priced for Malaysians' Proudly stating that the platform is 'made for Malaysians and priced for Malaysians', it offers three subscription plans, all of which allow access across four devices. Users can opt to pay RM6.90 for one month, RM19.90 for three months or RM74.90 for a full year. An additional premium package is also available, priced slightly higher with more features, at RM9.90 monthly, RM28.90 for three months and RM106.90 annually. 'Premium entertainment doesn't have to come with a premium price,' said Syaffandi Shahrom, acting chief operating officer of MYTV Broadcasting. 'MYTV Mana-Mana Premium is built for families, students and individuals alike whether you watch on your mobile, tablet or big screen via Google TV. 'With this low entry rate, we truly hope that everyone from urban areas to rural communities can all enjoy the full offerings of MYTV Mana-Mana Premium.' The platform features a mix of channels that includes KCM, Rock Action, Rock Entertainment, Aniplus, One, Arirang, Global Trekker, CNA, Suke TV and RTM's TV1 and TV2, to name a few. The content spans Hollywood films, local and international dramas, sports, anime, cartoons, travel programmes and documentaries. Check out K-dramas such as 'Oh My Ghost Clients' on the platfrom. Photo: Handout In addition to its live and licensed content, MYTV is investing in original programming under its MYTV Originals banner. Several projects are currently in production, with plans to launch in the coming months. Actor-producer Datuk Rosyam Nor, who is partnering with MYTV through his production company to develop two drama series, welcomed the new platform as a much-needed addition to Malaysia's creative ecosystem. 'I'm grateful that we now have another local platform. This creates more opportunities for Malaysia's creative industry to showcase its content,' he said. His company is preparing two 30-episode dramas, titled Semanis Warda and Musnah Itu Janji. Rosyam Nor says having another platform is good for the creative industry. Photo:KK SHAM/The StarHe shared more information on Musnah Itu Janji at the event. 'It tells the story of a woman who is devastated to learn that she is, unknowingly, a second wife. 'Her heartbreak deepens when she's told that one of her newborn twins has died. 'The truth is the baby was secretly given to the first wife, who cannot conceive,' Rosyam said. Another series in the works under the Originals umbrella is Suri Hati Mr Parlimen, said to be inspired by the real-life relationship between singer-actress Bella Astillah and Muar MP Syed Saddiq. The platform is also developing Cinta A.I., a 20-episode series based on a webtoon about a man who uses artificial intelligence to win the heart of his dream girl. Also on the slate are Dua Dunia, which explores the life of a man with two personalities, and Biar Hati Berbicara, a moving drama about a mute girl who is betrayed by her boyfriend. (Video) Local Man Wakes Up From 5-Day Coma After Hearing Voice Note From Siti Nurhaliza
They say a singer's voice can heal the soul, but Biduanita Negara Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza's voice seems to transcend even that. Her singing has long brought joy and hope to Malaysians, but it turns out that even her speaking voice may hold extraordinary power, enough to awaken someone from a coma. A man named Aimi Nasruddin recently went viral after regaining consciousness upon hearing a voice note from the iconic singer. How did he fall into a coma, and how did Siti come to learn of his condition? Here's the full story: In an interview with mStar, Aimi Nasruddin shared that he had suffered a heart attack while on holiday in Australia with friends earlier this month. He collapsed suddenly at a beach and was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital by ambulance. Although he received immediate medical attention, he tragically slipped into a coma for 5 days. His loved ones did everything they could to get a response, but nothing seemed to work. On the 5th day, Aimi's father reached out to his son's friends, who may be an associate of Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza's team, knowing how much Aimi is a fan and that he attended the singer's concert prior to this trip to Australia. The father's efforts were not in vain, as he received a voice note from the legend herself. 'My dad told me that he got the voice note from Siti just one hour after reaching out to one of my friends,' Aimi wrote in his IG story, recalling the day he woke up. In the viral video he posted, Siti's voice can be heard offering words of comfort and prayers for her fan to wake up soon. Remarkably, while the voice note was playing, Aimi showed a physical response; his arm moved slightly upon hearing her voice. It was understood that he regained consciousness not long after. In another interview with ERA FM, Aimi shared that he has no recollection of the incident when he collapsed and only learned the whole story from his friends who were with him. It has now been over 20 days since Aimi fell into a coma, and he has since made a full recovery and is gradually returning to normal life. We're glad to hear that his health is improving, and there's no doubt his loved ones are deeply grateful that Siti Nurhaliza played a role in his remarkable recovery. #NSTviral: Brothers crash wedding and leave with full hearts [WATCH]
KUALA LUMPUR: What began as an impromptu stop turned into a heartwarming reminder of Malaysian warmth and unity, when two brothers were welcomed as guests at a stranger's wedding. While en route to Seremban, Negri Sembilan, brothers Devaraj David and Devadass David noticed a Malay wedding taking place nearby and decided to stop to have a look. Without an invitation and knowing no one at the event, they stood tentatively at the entrance. To their surprise, a man stationed at the gate welcomed them without hesitation and invited them to join the feast. A relative of the bride and groom later approached the brothers and asked if they were related to anyone at the celebration. "We actually don't know anyone here. We were just passing by and saw the celebration," Devaraj replied. The relative then asked why they weren't eating, to which the brothers laughed, saying that the warm welcome had already filled their hearts. "I came in uninvited, and yet everyone welcomed us. That alone made us feel full," said Devaraj. In the video, he also admitted he had initially been worried they would be asked to leave the wedding. "I thought someone might punch me. But instead, everyone welcomed us with open arms," he said. Before departing, the brothers met the bride and groom, offered their blessings, and even requested a Tamil song to be played in honour of the couple. "The song is a wish for them to live happily together for a hundred years. "We came uninvited, but we left with full hearts, feeling loved and like part of the family." The touching encounter has resonated deeply with Malaysians online, with the video garnering over 1.3 million views and 101,800 likes on TikTok at the time of writing. Netizens described the moment as a beautiful reflection of unity in diversity, and a testament to the everyday kindness that continues to define the Malaysian spirit.
