Custom Seahawks Jersey of Reigning Tour de France Champion goes viral on Friday
A custom Seattle Seahawks jersey spotted on the Tour de France's broadcast went semi-viral Friday morning. The jersey spotted was a white away number 10 from the NFL's modern Nike Era adorning the name of the reigning Tour de France Champion Tadej Pogacar. Sleeper Seahawks tweeted a photo of the broadcast early Friday morning which was reshared throughout the fanbase all over social media throughout the final day of the work week. Pogacar, a Slovenian-born 26-year-old, has already won the Tour three times. He won his first in 2020 before going back-to-back in 2021, and has the chance to go back-to-back again in 2025 after picking up his third title last year. He currently leads the Tour overall despite finishing second in yesterday's leg. The fan spotted also appeared to be wearing a yellow football helmet with a massive set of Antlers attached. While fans watching the Tour de France are typical, he also appeared to be running to keep up with the leaders for as long as he could. Fans running to get the best look they can at the riders is also an annual occurrence on the Tour, but this fan's wardrobe choices made him stand out to Seahawks fans around the world, who love nothing more than to see 12s pop up in unexpected places in the world of sports. If you're reading this, Seahawks fan at the Tour de France with antlers- what is your story? The 12s are curious!

Dorrington return 'a big boost' for Aberdeen, says Devlin
Alfie Dorrington's return is "a big boost" for Aberdeen, says fellow defender Nicky Devlin. The Tottenham centre-half has returned to Pittodrie for the 2025-26 campaign following a successful loan spell last term, which culminated in a historic Scottish Cup triumph. "It's good to see him back again," Devlin told Aberdeen's club media. "I thought he was brilliant last season for us, especially for someone coming into his first real exposure to first-team football. And he'll be a big boost for us. "There are a few people who have left, big characters who have left the dressing room this year. "He's good on and off the park, he's a big character, he gets on well with everyone. And he brings a lot of quality to the team, which we'll need throughout the season." Jimmy Thelin's men continued their pre-season preparations with a friendly defeat to English Premier League side Fulham on Saturday. New signing Kusini Yengi gave Aberdeen the lead, but they fell to a 4-1 defeat against the London club, who finished 11th England's top tier last season. "It was difficult, everyone knows they're a top side," said Devlin, who replaced Graeme Shinnie at left-back at half time. "They give a lot of the top teams in England problems as well. There were good parts of it - first half and second half - but obviously lots of stuff we need to work on going into the start of our season." On playing in an unfamiliar left-back position, Devlin continued: "On paper it's the same position, it's just a different side. "I think the manager knows I'm happy to play wherever. If he thinks it's the best for the team, then he knows I'll play anywhere for him."

In our latest look at the Tele's archives, we go back 75 years to tales of superintendents, swimmers, and fights at Port Glasgow dance halls... "SUPER" IS LEAVING Captain G.A.F. Norfolk, RN, who has been superintendent at the Fort Matilda Torpedo Factory for the past two years, is leaving Greenock shortly to take up a sea appointment. (Image: archive) He is to command HMS Black Swan on the China station. This is a new picture of the RNTF Superintendent, Mrs Norfolk, and their dog Rusty. GOUROCK SWIMMER GOES FOR GOLD AROUND 25 entries have now been received from various parts of the country, including England, for the Dunoon to Gourock summer swim. Gourock swimming pool has become a popular training venue for some of the competitors, and yesterday 16 of the would-be "champions" put in a few hours at the pond. At the weekend there were 14 swimmers in the river having a try-out. One of the best performances was given by 15-year-old Audrey Rendell of Broomberry Drive, who swam to the Cowal shore and then back to Gourock. She is considered one of the local favourites for the big event. Mr Neil Gillies, Gourock pond-master, is training a number of the competitors for the swim. PORT PARTY DISTURBANCE FINES of £2 were imposed by Bailie Caldwell at Port-Glasgow Police Court this morning, when six youths pleaded guilty to a charge of conducting themselves in a disorderly manner and committing a breach of peace. Mr D. Main, Depute Fiscal, stated that the incident took place at the entrance of the Hibernians' Hall, Clune Brae, while a dance was in progress. The committee had been troubled by a crowd of hooligans known as the Alley Boys and the accused were barred from dancing in the hall. The doorman alleged that one of the juveniles said: "You are a to put his hand in his pocket, which gave him reason to believe that he had something concealed there. "The dance had been run efficiently, but is was lads like these who 'cause trouble," he commented. These articles were first published on July 19, 1950.
