Airport prepares to welcome 250,000 passengers this summer
This summer, passengers can enjoy non-stop international flights to popular sun and city break destinations including Alicante, Amsterdam, Bergen, Corfu, Dalaman, Dublin, Faro, Gdansk, Krakow, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Reus, and Stavanger.

The airport's preparations come on the heels of a major accolade, having recently been named Airport of the Year at the prestigious Scottish Transport Awards, recognising its commitment to service, innovation, and operational excellence.
Mark Beveridge, Managing Director of Aberdeen International Airport, said: 'We're always delighted to be the gateway to summer for so many, and this year, the City and Shire have many great events to enjoy, including the Festival of the Sea and The Tall Ships Races. We look forward to welcoming as many inbound passengers as possible who may be experiencing our region for the first time.

Stirling train conductor wins top accolade for exceptional service at awards ceremony
Lorna Hunter, who has been a member of ScotRail's on-train crew at Stirling since 2011, was named Frontline Employee of the Year at the Scottish Transport Awards. A rail conductor from Stirling has been crowned with a prestigious accolade at the Scottish Transport Awards 2025. ScotRail conductor, Lorna Hunter, earned national recognition after being named Frontline Employee of the Year at the prestigious ceremony held atthe Radisson Blu Hotel, in Glasgow, last week. Lorna, who has been a member of ScotRail's on-train crew at Stirling since 2011, was commended for her outstanding commitment to passenger safety and customer service. In 2024, she was named as ScotRail's Employee of the Month following her courageous handling of a potentially dangerous situation involving an unruly passenger on a late-night train. Her swift and level-headed actions were instrumental in safeguarding a vulnerable female passenger, leading to the offender's subsequent capture by British Transport Police. Her professionalism and natural empathy shine through in her daily interactions with customers, and Lorna is regularly mentioned on social media by customers who share positive stories and praise her thoughtful approach. Celebrating its 22nd anniversary, the Scottish Transport Awards were hosted by Transport Times and are dedicated to acknowledging the outstanding contributions made within Scotland's transport sector, whether through public service or private initiative, shining a spotlight on transformative ventures and pivotal individuals. Upon receiving the honour, Lorna expressed her gratitude, saying: "I'm absolutely honoured to receive this award. It means a lot to be recognised in this way. "I just try to treat every customer the way I'd want my own family to be treated, and I'm lucky to work with such a supportive team. There are so many brilliant people working on the railway every day, so to be singled out feels really special." First Bus scores big win at Scottish Transport Awards 2025
The achievement, which First Bus were presented with at the Scottish Transport Awards in Glasgow, celebrates the performance of First Bus across Greater Glasgow and Aberdeen over the last year. The award was open to Scottish bus, rail, tram and ferry operators. Its investment in zero-emission buses and infrastructure was also commended as the operator continues its commitment to running a fully zero-emission fleet by 2035 with over 270 zero-emission buses in operation across Greater Glasgow and Aberdeen. The operator also collected a second award on the night for Excellence in Technology and Innovation, receiving recognition for its use of AI-driven timetables to improve reliability for customers on its services across Scotland. First Bus used the new timetables on over 60 services in the last 12 months to improve their performance, which led to several routes experiencing improvements in punctuality by over 30% as a result.
