Netanyahu says his meeting with Trump can 'help advance' Gaza deal
"We are working to achieve this deal that we have discussed, under the conditions that we have agreed to. I have sent a negotiating team (to Doha) with clear instructions," Netanyahu told reporters on the tarmac of Ben Gurion airport before boarding the presidential plane for Washington.
"I think that this meeting with President Trump can definitely help advance this (deal) that we are all hoping for."

Elon Musk's proposed new political party has some hurdles to clear before it becomes a reality. The call for a third political party isn't new, and it's been done before to varying success. But experts agree that it will require a herculean effort from Musk to make the so-called 'America Party' successful. Musk, the richest man in the world, has teased a new political party since taking umbrage with President Trump's signature 'big, beautiful bill,' calling it irresponsible and a negative to America's global power. Trump called Musk a 'train wreck' in response to the idea, and longtime Musk foe Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Musk's companies may not stand for it. Musk would be battling the unsuccessful history of third parties. Musk's battle begins at the state level where ballot access is governed by law. Anderson said Musk would likely target states with tossup elections where races are typically close, like North Carolina and Georgia. North Carolina's current guidelines require new parties to collect petition signatures from voters who cast ballots in the most recent general election for the state's governor and from three different congressional districts in the state. To become a national political party, the FEC would have to approve an advisory opinion request filed by Musk's America Party. By focusing on the states , Musk's party could avoid registering with the FEC. This would allow his party to be recognized as a Section 527 political organization, which must register with the IRS but has 'no dollar or source limitations,' said Brett Kappel, an election lawyer. Outside of the legal requirements, Musk, already a polarizing figure , would need to mobilize media and a grassroots campaign to remind voters of the America Party, experts said. Because of his deep pockets (and because Super PACs can now supercharge grassroots efforts), Musk could stroll through the legal challenges and the campaigning grind.

US Revokes Foreign Terrorist Designation for Syria's HTS
President Donald Trump's administration on Monday revoked the foreign terrorist organization designation for Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, as Washington moves to remove U.S. sanctions on Syria to help the country rebuild following years of a civil war. In December, Islamist rebels led by HTS ousted Syria's former president Bashar al-Assad in a lightning offensive. Then-HTS leader Ahmed al-Sharaa became Syria's president and said he wanted to build an inclusive and democratic Syria. HTS was previously known as al-Nusra Front when it was al-Qaeda's Syria branch. It broke off ties with al-Qaeda in 2016. In May, Sharaa met with Trump in Riyadh where, in a major policy shift, the Republican president unexpectedly announced he would lift U.S. sanctions on Syria, prompting Washington to significantly ease its measures. "This FTO revocation is an important step in fulfilling President Trump's vision of a stable, unified, and peaceful Syria," Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a statement, adding that the revocation will come into effect on Tuesday. Last week, Trump signed an executive order terminating U.S. sanctions program on Syria, a move that aims to end the country's isolation from the international financial system. Syria's foreign ministry told Reuters that the lifting of sanctions on HTS was a "positive step toward correcting a course that previously hindered constructive engagement." The written statement said Syria hoped the move would "contribute to the removal of remaining restrictions that continue to impact Syrian institutions and officials, and open the door to a rational, sovereign-based approach to international cooperation." The ministry also said that Sharaa was planning to attend the upcoming United Nations General Assembly in September. The U.N. Security Council still has sanctions on both HTS and Sharaa himself, which require a Council decision to remove.
