Kurnool: In view of the Chief Minister's scheduled visit to the erstwhile Kurnool district on July 17, District Collector P Ranjith Basha has instructed officials to make elaborate arrangements at the Kurnool Airport and other key locations.
Addressing district officials through a teleconference on Tuesday evening, the Collector emphasised the need for seamless coordination among departments to ensure the success of the high-level visit.
The Collector informed that the Chief Minister is expected to arrive at Kurnool Airport from New Delhi at around 11 am on July 17. Following his arrival, he will proceed to Malyala in Nandyal district to inaugurate the water release from the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) project and will later address a public meeting. After concluding the event, the Chief Minister will return to Kurnool Airport and depart for Vijayawada. The Collector noted that these are the tentative details of the tour. To ensure smooth execution, the Collector directed the Additional SP to oversee security arrangements at the airport. He also instructed the DRO, Kurnool RDO and Orvakal tahsildar to follow protocol-related responsibilities.
Medical teams, ambulances and a designated safe room should be kept ready at the airport, as per instructions to the in-charge DMHO andGGH Superintendent.
The Fire Department was directed to station fire engines on standby, while the DTC was asked to coordinate with the police department for convoy management. The teleconference was attended by officials including Additional SP Hussain Peera, DRO C Venkata Narayanamma, Kurnool RDO Sandeep Kumar, Dr Bhaskar Raju and DTC Shanta Kumari.

Kurnool: As part of the NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme, a total of Rs.102.89 crore is being disbursed to 2,36,640 eligible pensioners across the district for the month of July, District Collector P Ranjith Basha announced on Tuesday. Launching the distribution drive in Nannur village of Orvakal mandal, Collector Basha, along with Panyam MLA Gowru Charitha Reddy, personally visited the homes of beneficiaries to hand over the pensions. Among the recipients were Lakshmamma, Sunkanna, Masamma, Satyam, and Venkataswamy, who received old-age pensions; Lakshmidevi, Kusumakumari, and Venkatalakshmi, who were granted widow pensions; and Hanumanna and Maddaiah, who received disability pensions. During the distribution, the Collector interacted with the beneficiaries to inquire about their well-being and whether they were receiving their pensions on time every month. He also asked whether they lived in their own houses or rented accommodations. For those living in rented homes, the Collector advised them to immediately apply for house site pattas. He further reviewed with the secretariat staff the number of applications received so far under the house site scheme. Locals also brought certain civic issues to the Collector's notice, including the need for proper drainage systems. The Collector assured them that appropriate action would be taken.

Kurnool: Kurnool District Collector P Ranjith Basha on Tuesday felicitated 19 students who emerged victorious in the district-level YogAndhra competitions, at his camp office. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life and encouraged students to make it a regular practice. He announced the establishment of a dedicated yoga center for students and directed the concerned officials to initiate the process. The Collector appreciated the impressive performances showcased by children during the month-long Yog Andhra events. He lauded the students for their outstanding participation in various competitions at the district level, which led to their selection and commendable performance at the state-level contests held in Vijayawada. He expressed hope that the same spirit would help them achieve even more accolades in the future. As part of the event, national-level Yoga Bhushan awardees and yoga instructors Avinash Shetty and Dr S Mumtaz Begum from Kurnool were also felicitated by the Collector under the guidance of Setkur CEO Dr Venu Gopal and ZP CEO Naser Reddy. The programme saw participation from several key dignitaries including State Yoga Association Secretary Avinash Shetty, Dr Prasad, Muni Swamy, and District Yoga Association member Ganesh.
