Hybe to host Asia-wide music film festival in July
Under the title 'Hybe Cine Fest in Asia,' a series of concert films and a music visual featuring its four artists will come to cinemas, a joint effort with global distributor Trafalgar Releasing.
Viewers will be able to sing along the reedited versions of concert films: 'Map of the Soul On:E' from BTS, 'Be the Sun – Seoul' from Seventeen, 'Act : Sweet Mirage Finale' from Tomorrow X Together, and 'Fate in Seoul' from Enhypen.
A mash-up of 22 music videos from ten artists, including the aforementioned four as well as Le Sserafim, &Team, Boynextdoor, TWS, Illit and Katseye, will also be available on large screens with Romanized subtitles.
The fest will kick off on July 10 and will run for four days in nine regions — Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong and Taiwan — and until Aug. 7 in Japan.
At least one theater in each region will operate as a 'special location' where visitors can enjoy a range of experiences and purchase merchandises.
The event was first held last year in 11 countries in Latin America and drew over 260,000 fans.

Jungkook becomes first Asian soloist to hit 100m Spotify streams on every original track
Jungkook proves enduring global impact with milestone achievement Jungkook, who is both loved as a talented soloist and as the youngest member of global sensation BTS, has set another historic global record on Spotify. According to the World Music Awards, on Monday, Jungkook became the first Asian solo artist in history to surpass 100 million streams on every original track released via his Spotify account. Among the 47 tracks registered under his profile, 18 are original songs, excluding remixes. The World Music Awards honor the world's bestselling music artists. Jungkook is also one of only three artists in the world ― alongside Billie Eilish and Harry Styles ― to achieve 100 million streams on every original solo track on Spotify, according to international outlet Oneily Vibe. Jungkook's most-streamed track is 'Seven,' which had amassed 2.4 billion streams as of Monday. It is followed by 'Standing Next to You' with 1.2 billion streams and a collaboration track with Charlie Puth, 'Left and Right,' which has garnered over 1.1 billion streams. "Seven" holds records both for racking up streams the fastest and achieving the highest number ever for a song by an Asian artist on the platform, which was founded in 2006. Jungkook has continued to hit milestone after milestone as a soloist. In 2023, he was recognized by the Guinness World Records for becoming the fastest artist in history to reach 1 billion Spotify streams, achieving the feat in only 409 days with just three solo tracks. Moreover, his total Spotify streams have now surpassed 9.2 billion, making him not only the fastest Asian act to reach that mark, but also the first K-pop soloist to do so. Jungkook completed his mandatory military service on June 11 and is currently gearing up for the full unit comeback of BTS. Early this month, the group announced plans for a new album and world tour, aiming for a release in spring next year.

Fourth studio album delivers message of unity through dynamic performances, first solo tracks
Tomorrow X Together has returned with a fourth studio album, 'The Star Chapter: Together,' concluding the boy band's long-running conceptual series with a record that deepens the group's artistic identity. The five-member group under Big Hit Music, the same agency behind BTS, held a media showcase Monday at Kyung Hee University in Seoul to mark the album's release. This is the band's first studio album since 'The Name Chapter: Freefall,' which came out in October 2023. 'The Star Chapter: Together' serves as the final installment in the 'The Star Chapter' series, following the seventh EP 'Sanctuary,' and places emphasis on the true meaning of 'together' — a word that also appears in the group's name. The new album explores themes of unity and shared experience across eight tracks, including 'Upside Down Kiss,' 'Beautiful Strangers,' 'Ghost Girl,' 'Sunday Driver,' 'Dance With You,' 'Take My Half' and 'Bird of Night.' Each song presents a different interpretation of what it means to be together. The lead single, 'Beautiful Strangers,' is a trap-based hip-hop track that blends dreamy piano lines with bold synthesizers. It contrasts ethereal melodies with explosive instrumentals, matching TXT's dynamic choreography with emotional storytelling. Yeonjun contributed to the track's performance direction, marking his first official involvement in choreographing a lead single. 'I worked on the dance break and chorus sections in particular," Yeonjun said. "When I first heard the song, I had a clear vision of how it could look. It only took me about two days to organize my ideas and send a proposal to the company and it was approved surprisingly smoothly." He also noted that the choreography includes 'three distinct dance breaks,' asking fans to pay attention to how this performance differs from the group's previous routines. For the first time in their career, TXT's group album includes solo songs by each bandmate. 'As we come to the end of one overarching narrative as a team, it felt meaningful to show our individual colors through solo tracks,' said group leader Soobin. Beomgyu added, 'I even got to film my first solo music video. It was a fresh and exciting experience.' The group recently drew attention when the boy band 'Saja Boys' of hit Netflix animated film 'KPop Demon Hunters' was revealed to have been inspired by TXT. 'The film was a huge success and helped raise global awareness of K-pop,' said Yeonjun. 'I was honored that they based the character Romance on me.' Having already topped the Billboard 200 albums chart, TXT now has sights set on the Hot 100 singles chart ― a tougher benchmark that reflects radio airplay and streaming numbers in the US. 'Over the past six or seven years, we've reached some goals and missed others,' said Taehyun. 'But I believe the bigger the dream, the bigger the pieces when it breaks ― so I'm going to dream big. I want to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.' The group also shared encouragement from BTS. 'They (BTS) told us to keep working hard,' said Beomgyu. 'They've always looked out for us, and that makes me want to become a good senior for our juniors in the future.' Regarding their upcoming contract renewal, Soobin offered a positive outlook. 'We're currently in discussions, and all five of us are on the same page. We're happiest when we're together and we want to stay on stage for a long time. I'm confident we'll have good news to share,' Soobin said. Huening Kai reached out to bring comfort to MOA, the band's fan group, saying, 'MOA shouldn't worry too much. The five of us still love making music and sharing our unique color — that hasn't changed.'

Hybe announced Saturday that more than 30 million fans have now joined the boy band's community on Weverse, a platform designed to facilitate direct interaction between artists and their followers. Through the service, fans can watch live broadcasts, chat with BTS members in real time and purchase concert tickets and official merchandise. Weverse recorded 10 million monthly active users in the first quarter of this year. Since its launch in June 2019, no artist other than BTS has reached this scale of following. The platform hosts not only Hybe-affiliated acts but also artists from other K-pop agencies, along with actors, musical theater performers and international pop stars including Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa. To mark the milestone, BTS member Jin left a brief message on the platform, writing, 'I was told to post something brag-worthy, so here it is.'
