Suspect charged in Kansas City, Kansas deadly shooting last week
Andrew Holmes was charged in Wyandotte County on Monday with one count of voluntary manslaughter.
Officers with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department responded to a shooting on April 24, just after 5 p.m. at the Terrace Pointe Apartments near South 72nd Street and Kansas Avenue.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a man outside, dead from apparent gunshot wounds. He has been , a resident of KCK.

Holmes made his first appearance in court on Friday morning and is being held in the Wyandotte County jail on a $100,000 bond.

Arson arrest made in connection to recent Mobile fires
MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Officials with Mobile Fire-Rescue say an arrest has been made in connection to recent fires at vacant homes. According to a news release, 31-year-old Justin Jones was booked into Metro Jail Sunday morning and charged with 2nd degree arson. Mobile Police arrested Jones after a vacant home on State Street was destroyed by fire. The news release says he was caught trying to set fire to another vacant home on Old Shell Road. Champaign Police Dept. investigating after garage hit by gunfire
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A garage in Champaign was hit by gunfire several times late last week. Although no injuries were reported, multiple residents, including several minors, were inside the home during the incident. Champaign Police officers responded near the area of N. Market and E. Roper Streets just before 10 p.m. on July 30 after a report that shots had been fired. Champaign Police Dept. announces results of speed awareness campaign Once on the scene, officers learned that a garage had been hit multiple times. The Champaign Police Department told WCIA it is unknown whether the shots were targeting the structure. Residents were home at the time, but no injuries were reported. According to a police media report, a 7-year-old, a 9-year-old, a 15-year-old, and an 18-year-old were present in the home at the time, along with two people in their 30s. The Champaign Police Department's media reports are publicly available incident reports that are taken within city limits. Search on hold for missing fisherman in Susquehanna River
BRIAR CREEK TOWNSHIP, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A search is on hold Saturday night along the Susquehanna River after a fisherman disappeared into the water. Rescue crews rushed to the Berwick-Nescopeck Bridge just before 5:00 p.m. Saturday. Police say a man was fishing when he fell into the river and never resurfaced. Authorities say the man is believed to be in his 30s or 40s, with blonde hair and possibly wearing an orange shirt or none at all with brown shorts. It's unclear when the search will resume.
