Footage released since the shocking attack shows three masked men trying to force a mother into a white Chronopost van in broad daylight.
The attackers can be seen struggling to pull the victim into the van, but to little avail.
The violent struggle took place on Rue Pache in the 11th Arrondissement.
But the woman owes her safety thanks to the intervention of the child's father, Le Parisien reported.
He completely covered her, taking hits and punches - as well as what looks like a stab to his upper back.
The man intervened to try and stop the attackers - who quickly dash back into the van and flee the scene after a few tense moments.
A man can be seen hurling what looks like a fire extinguisher at the van as it leaves.
However, other passersby were reportedly afraid to intervene despite the screams of the victim.
The 34-year-old unnamed victim was accompanied by her two-year-old child at the time of the attack, police say.

It is not clear how the infant escaped being kidnapped.
The mother is the daughter of cryptocurrency CEO, according to Le Parisien reports.
The shocking daylight attack was over in a matter of moments, as the assailants left the van open and ready to escape quickly.
After the vehicle drives away, a few bystanders can be seen appearing to check in on the victim's welfare.
One of the attackers reportedly lost a handgun in the attack, although it is unclear whether the firearm was real.
After the attackers fled the scene, the van was found on a street in the same borough.
The paper added that the Paris prosecutor's office has called on the anti-banditry brigade to conduct the investigation.

French minister and fugitive tycoon face trial over ‘corruption pact'
Rachida Dati, France's ambitious culture minister, and Carlos Ghosn, the fugitive car tycoon, have been sent for trial over an alleged €900,000 corruption pact. The move will cast a shadow over Dati's campaign to become mayor of Paris next year and add to the legal woes besetting Ghosn, the former chief executive of Renault and Nissan who fled to Lebanon in 2019 after being charged with financial misconduct in Japan. Both deny wrongdoing. Prosecutors allege that when Ghosn, 71, headed the Renault-Nissan alliance, he paid Dati, 59, then an MEP, €900,000 to carry out lobbying work on the companies' behalf in the European parliament between 2010 and 2012. MEPs are not allowed to engage in such lobbying work. However, Dati and Ghosn say the payments were consultancy fees to help with the group's expansion in the Middle East and north Africa, which was legal. The 175-page indictment says investigators could find no trace of Dati's consultancy activities, however. Dati has been charged with corruption, influence peddling, breach of trust and receiving the proceeds of abuse of power. Ghosn is accused of breach of trust, abuse of power, corruption and influence peddling. Le Monde said a preliminary hearing was due in September and the trial is likely to be scheduled next year, after March's council elections. The timing leaves Dati facing the prospect of having to campaign in the mayoral race against a background of corruption allegations. Polls suggest that the centre-right minister is an overwhelming favourite to succeed Anne Hidalgo, the socialist incumbent, who is her longtime rival. A political street fighter, Dati will almost certainly seek to shrug off the case, but internal opponents are waiting to pounce if her campaign is derailed. Foremost among them is Michel Barnier, the EU's former Brexit negotiator who was a short-lived prime minister last year. • The fugitive CEO Carlos Ghosn on how he escaped jail in Japan Although, like Dati, a member of the centre-right Republicans, Barnier wants to stand in a by-election in the wealthy Paris constituency that is her backyard. His initiative, seen as a stepping stone to the mayoral race, has infuriated Dati, who has indicated that she will run against him. The trial is a fresh setback for President Macron, who lured Dati into his centrist government in January 2024 although she had previously been critical of him. With her tough-talking style she is one of the few ministers well known to voters in what is otherwise widely viewed as a weak, ramshackle cabinet.

Ukraine's military loses first French Mirage fighter jet in crash
July 22 (Reuters) - A Mirage 2000 fighter jet supplied to Ukraine from France crashed on Tuesday after experiencing equipment failure during an assignment, with the pilot ejecting safely, Ukraine's military said. It was the first loss of a Mirage jet since Ukraine's military started receiving them earlier this year. "Equipment failure occurred, which the pilot reported to the flight controller," a military statement said on Telegram. "The pilot then acted competently, as is expected in crisis situations, and successfully ejected. A rescue crew found the pilot in a stable condition. There were no casualties on the ground." Ukrainian news reports said the incident occurred in the northwestern Volyn region. Ukraine's military announced the arrival of the first batch of Mirage aircraft in February. U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets began arriving last year from different countries as Ukraine's Western allies sought to help Kyiv upgrade its largely Soviet-era air force fleet.

We are taking REAL steps to tackle illegal migration that WILL deliver results & ensure fairness for Brits
WE will stop at nothing to tackle illegal migration. So this week we have delivered a world first: a new sanctions regime to target the vile people-smuggling gangs. The first sanctions are hitting these criminals today. 2 2 We will go after the gang leaders, those supplying boats and fake passports, and the moneymen. Their assets will be frozen. Their bank accounts will be closed. And they will be banned from the UK. For too long, governments have offered nothing but expensive gimmicks – like the Rwanda scheme which achieved precisely zero. Instead, we're taking real, practical steps that will deliver results. We've already returned 35,000 people with no right to be here – way up on the year before. We're working with Germany to close a legal loophole in their system, allowing police to seize small boats being stored and transported in their country. By working with France, we have agreed to a totally unprecedented returns pilot. Now, for the first time, migrants arriving by small boat can be sent back to France. Other governments tried to do this and failed. We're also taking a zero-tolerance approach to the illegal jobs which gangs promise – and which undercut honest businesses. Under our nationwide crackdown, raids and arrests are already up 50%. The Sun has rightly put the spotlight on migrants working illegally as food delivery riders. And we're tackling the problem. A new agreement announced today will see us share asylum accommodation locations with Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats. If a rider is staying at this accommodation, the companies will know and can close down the rider's account. Our message to the gangs is clear. We will be more aggressive than ever to smash your business model and hold you to account. We will do what it takes to uphold the law and to ensure fairness for the British people.
