Nina Dobrev Is ‘Really Proud' of Fiancé Shaun White Following His Brand Whitespace's Fashion Week Debut (Exclusive)
Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE, the actress, 36, opened up about the moment her Olympian fiancé, 38, debuted his brand Whitespace's first high-fashion collaboration with Moncler Grenoble at its fall/winter 2024 show in Switzerland on Feb. 3, 2024, for Fashion Week.
"It was really exciting. I'm really proud of him," the Vampire Diaries alum says, speaking with PEOPLE for her partnership with SC Johnson for the Join Zuzu campaign to spread awareness about the dangers of plastic waste and importance of recycling.
"I mean, to have such a gorgeous collection and collaboration with such an established company like Moncler and have Whitespace work with them and see it on the runway with all these top models carrying the boards was very surreal for all of us and really exciting," Dobrev adds.

White — who popped the question to Dobrev in New York City in late October — founded his snowboarding gear brand in 2022, and the company's collab with Moncler marked one of its first ventures into the world of high fashion.
"Moncler is a very unique brand, and they always do some type of experience, so they didn't disappoint," the Olympic gold medalist told Esquire in February 2024 of the Switzerland fashion show just days prior. "Obviously the clothes were amazing, and it was especially amazing to see somebody take on this technical space and add the fashionable component to it. It's about time."
"I had been in talks with Moncler since the pandemic, and we finally found ourselves in a position where I was making really great snowboards, and they wanted to get into more technical outerwear with the Grenoble line. It's a perfect symmetry because Whitespace definitely aligns with Moncler's fashion-meets-function ideals," he added to the outlet. "I feel like we could give them some credibility in the performance space, and they could give us some cool cred in the fashion world."
White has continued to work with Moncler, and he and Dobrev attended the brand's latest show in Switzerland on March 15.

Elsewhere in her conversation with PEOPLE, Dobrev spoke about advocating for ocean cleanup through SC Johnson's latest campaign — and detailed a vacation she took with White, her longtime BFF Julianne Hough and her The Out-Laws costar Adam Devine — for her 34th birthday two years ago that left her aghast.
"We went on a trip for my birthday to Indonesia, and I had already been to this specific place and I loved it so much that I wanted to bring my friends back there. And when I went back, I was truly stunned in a horrible way at how much the same beach that I'd visited previously — there was no beach left," she recalls.
"As soon as I heard about this initiative that SC Johnson is doing, it made me really happy and inspired and I wanted to get involved right away," she says of their advocacy campaign, which uses a video of Zuzu the hermit crab to spur action.
"I feel like that's why so many people can't get on board is because it's sort of out of sight, out of mind. You don't really see it, but you see it in this film and it really holds you accountable to do something, I think," she adds.

Teen Was Denied Babysitting Payment for Wearing 'Inappropriate' Brandy Melville Tank Top. Then the Internet Rallied Behind Her
A 15-year-old took to Reddit and shared that she was denied her full babysitting payment because of her choice of attire The teenager wore a spaghetti strap Brandy Melville tank top with a cardigan over it for extra coverage during the babysitting job The parents of the children attempted to dock her payment on grounds of her clothes being inappropriateBrandy Melville is popular with tween and teen girls for its girlish take on wardrobe staples, from cropped baby tees to tank tops with lacy trim and dainty satin bows. But one of the brand's core items left one teenager fighting to receive her full babysitting payment. A 15-year-old high school student, Mae, took to Reddit to share the unexpected reaction she received for wearing Brandy Melville's Skylar Stripe Lace Tank Top — a spaghetti strap v neck tank with delicate lace trim — to a routine babysitting job. She added that she wore 'a sweatshirt over my tank top and only took it off after the kids asked me to run around with them.' The teen included snapshots of the texts between her and Marianne, the mother of the two girls she babysat for in April. "I just wanted to reach out because I haven't gotten my payment," she wrote in the messages. "I know you guys celebrate Good Friday and Easter so I totally get that it probably slipped off your radar, but if you could Venmo me when you have the chance, that would be fantastic!" Marianne told the teen over text that her babysitting outfit, which also included tan fleece sweatpants, was inappropriate and noted that her pay for that evening would be docked accordingly. "We do not feel comfortable paying you the full amount after you wore such an inappropriate clothing to our house," the parent texted back. "The kids love you and we are more than happy to give you a second chance, but we cannot pay you more that [than] $50 after you wore that outfit." The teen responded, "I just wanted to be in something flexible to run around in with Sarah and Eliza. $50 honestly does not feel [like] enough money for two kids and seven hours. I understand you do not feel okay paying me full price, but I'd be willing to do half of what I normally charge." In the caption of the post, Mae asked Reddit users if she was overreacting to the situation. She also gave a breakdown of her pricing, noting that she typically charges $20 for two kids and babysat the children between 4 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The response to the teen's messages were overwhelmingly supportive and saw multiple users in the replies praising her for being respectful and well mannered, despite the difficult situation. "[Your mom] should call them and f------SHAME them. Make sure your mom shames them for being predators who lust for teens," one user wrote. "Make sure you tell everyone teen girls are not safe there because they sexualize young women." Another comment read, "If they were uncomfortable with your clothing they could have had a conversation with you. [In my opinion,] it's just shady behavior and an excuse not to pay up. I also agree with what others are saying about them sexualizing you. It's not cool." Mae followed up the next day with an update after getting over 68,000 Upvotes and 4,600 comments on her original post. The teen told her mother about the situation, who sent Marianne an email for attempting to pay her less for the babysitting job. "She never got a response ... ," she wrote. The teen attached additional screenshots of the text exchange of how the situation with Marianne resolved. "While I feel awful that I offended you and Dan, we had never gone over rules about clothing," she wrote in the messages. "I think that it is the best decision for both of us if you pay me in total and we can put this behind us." is now available in the Apple App Store! Download it now for the most binge-worthy celeb content, exclusive video clips, astrology updates and more! Marianne said it was "disheartening" to see Mae "turn into another version of your mother," but ultimately sent the $150 in full. "I do not think we will be using [you] as a sitter anymore," the parent added, to which Mae replied, "I highly doubt I will be recommending you to any of my friends who want to get into babysitting." Kate Middleton opens up about life after cancer. ‘Really, really difficult'
Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, is sharing new details about her ongoing cancer journey. According to People, while spending time at the Colchester Hospital on Wednesday, July 2, Middleton talked about what it has been like since finishing her cancer treatments. 'You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment's done, then it's like, 'I can crack on, get back to normal,' but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult,' Middleton, 43, said, according to People. 'You're not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you're not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to,' Middleton explained. 'And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable.' Middleton was visiting the Colchester Hospital to spend time at a 'specially designed well-being garden that offers a restorative space for patients, NHS staff and visitors,' People reported. 'You have to find your new normal and that takes time,' Middleton continued, 'and it's a rollercoaster, it's not smooth, like you expect it to be. But the reality is you go through hard times.' Since announcing in September that she had completed her cancer treatments and later revealing in January that she was in remission, Middleton has slowly began returning to her public duties as a member of the Royal family. Most recently, Middleton was seen with her husband Prince William and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, at Trooping the Colour in June. In January, Middleton wrote that 'it is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.' Middleton also shared a sweet video in September of her family of five spending time together after she had completed chemotherapy. 'The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown,' she wrote on Instagram, alongside the video. 'The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.' 'This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved,' she continued, adding that 'doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. 'Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.'
