Sources familiar with the situation informed the New York Post that the country music legend was just not available to come in at the same time because of his commitments on his US tour.
New York Times' source explained that, "Keith was unable to be in Portugal for this appointment as he is currently on tour in the U.S. and it is mandatory for applicants to be physically present in order to apply for the visa," as quoted by Blast.
However, he is supposed to file his application at a future date once his itinerary permits, as the source said, "He is scheduled to submit his application at a later date that works with his tour schedule. While Nicole and Keith own a home in Portugal, their primary residence will continue to be in Nashville," as quoted by Blast.
Keith Urban Ends Interview After Being Asked About Nicole Kidman
The buzz around Kidman's solo residency application comes shortly after Keith made headlines when he abruptly hung up during a live radio interview, according to the report.
The Grammy winner was recently interviewed in Mix 102.3's "Hayley & Max in the Morning," where hosts Hayley Peterson and Max Burford asked him a "very tricky … deeply personal question," as per Blast. The host asked him, "What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV?" as quoted by Blast.
However, Urban did not reply to the question, and then a producer informed that the singer and his team had "disconnected from Zoom," according to the report. Reacting to the singer's sudden exit, the producer said, "I think his team hung up on us because they didn't want us to ask that question," as quoted in the report.
Peterson agreed, saying "100 percent what happened" as she "knew" it would, exclaiming, "He's gone!" and added, "He doesn't like talking about his wife," as quoted by Blast.
