Grammy Awards Reveals Key Dates for 2026 Show, New Categories
The Recording Academy has revealed the key dates, deadlines and rule amendments for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, taking place on Sun, February 1, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with nominations set to be announced on Fri, November 7, 2025.
Following its annual board meeting, it has also announced several new awards and changes to the awards process, effective immediately.
The Grammys also announced a few updates to its rules and categories for this year's awards, with the full list of updates available in the Recording Academy's
rulebook
.
In the country category, there will be a new award for best traditional country album, and the current best country album category will be renamed to best contemporary country album.
In the general field, the Academy has changed a rule for the best new artist category so that artists who were previously featured on a record nominated for album of the year can still be nominated for best new artist if their contributions on the album were 20 percent or less.
In the packaging field, the Academy is introducing a new category for best album cover, while best recording package and best boxed or special limited edition package are being consolidated into one category. And in the classical category, the Academy said 'composers and lyricists/librettists are now eligible for GRAMMY recognition alongside all other key creative personnel including artists, producers, and engineers on winning albums.'
Music released between August 31, 2024 and August 30, 2025 will be eligible for Grammy consideration for the 68th Grammy Awards.
The online entry period will run from July 16 to August 29, The Academy said. The first round of voting will run from October 3 through October 15, with nominations announced November 7, and the final round of Grammy voting runs from December 12 to January 5, 2026.
'The Academy's top priority is to represent the music people that we serve each year,' Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said in a statement. 'That entails listening carefully to our members to make sure our rules and guidelines reflect today's music and allow us to accurately recognize as many deserving creators as possible. As we kick off another exciting Grammy Season, we look forward to celebrating the amazing power of music and its ability to bring so many people together.'

Margot Robbie in Talks to Lead & Produce Tim Burton's "Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman"Remake
Yara Sameh Margot Robbie is in early negotiations to join Tim Burton's remake of 'Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman' for Warner Bros. If the deal closes, Robbie would produce the remake with LuckyChap partners Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara with an eye to star. News broke last February that Burton was working on a reimagining of the 1958 science-fiction horror movie, which follows a wealthy heiress who grows into a giant after an alien encounter and exacts revenge on her cheating husband. 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' creator planned to direct, as well as produce alongside Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper. Kai Dolbashian serves as executive producer. 'Gone Girl' writer Gillian Flynn penned a first draft of the screenplay, but has since exited the project due to other commitments. The producing team is currently searching for a new writer, and Robbie's involvement as the lead actor would depend on the final version. The potential collaboration would be a union between two of Warner Bros.' most successful recent collaborators. The studio was eager to continue doing business with LuckyChap following the success of the Oscar-winning 'Barbie' — the highest-grossing movie of 2023 with $1.45 billion globally, as well as the biggest film in the studio's 100-year history — and signed the company to a multi-year, first-look feature film deal to collaborate on future projects. Robbie, a three-time Oscar nominee, next stars in WB's 'Wuthering Heights,' Emerald Fennell's adaptation of Emily Brontë's classic, which hits theaters next February, and LuckyChap is also developing an 'Ocean's Eleven' movie at the studio, with 'Twisters' director Lee Isaac Chung in talks to direct. Likewise, in 2024, the studio enjoyed big success with Burton's 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,' the long-awaited sequel to his 1988 classic 'Beetlejuice.' Despite debuting nearly 40 years after the original, the poltergeist scared up a strong $452 million at the global box office. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Demi Lovato Releases New Single "Fast," First from Upcoming Album
Yara Sameh Demi Lovato is back and ready for life in the fast lane. The "Child Star" director released her latest single 'Fast' on Thursday night, the first from her upcoming ninth studio album. Lovato teased the track on social media earlier this month before officially announcing its arrival. In one mid-July Instagram video, the singer-actress lip-synced to the lyrics of the track, singing, ''Cause baby honestly / I just wanna feel your hands all over me / Over and over / Right where they wanna be / Even if it's only for tonight.' Lovato released an accompanying music video with the track, where she could be seen amongst a slate of burning cars while singing the chorus: 'I wanna go fast / I wanna go hard / I wanna go anywhere, anywhere you are.' Entitled 'Fast,' the single marks Lovato's return to the pop music genre after she'd previously tapped into rock in her previous record Holy Fvck. Her ninth album will be executive produced by music producer Zhone, who has notably collaborated with Kesha, Troye Sivan and Charli xcx. 'It's been so inspiring working with Demi and experiencing her journey of continued leveling up,' Zhone told Rolling Stone . 'She is such a master in the studio. This album is about letting inhibitions go, and we had so much fun making this music! It really comes across throughout.' The Camp Rock star's most recent release was Revamped, which literally revamped and remixed tracks from her sprawling discography. 'Fast's' arrival comes almost a year after Lovato made her directorial debut with her documentary Child Star, which shed light on 'the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world's most well-known former child stars.' The doc featured interview with Drew Barrymore, JoJo Siwa, Christina Ricci, Kenan Thompson, Raven-Symoné and Alyson Stoner, among others. Lovato, too, recently tied the knot with Jordan 'Jutes' Luts earlier this year.
