Auburn baseball lands Belmont transfer pitcher Ethan Harden
The Auburn Tigers baseball season may have only ended a few short weeks ago, but head coach Butch Thompson and his staff are already busy seeking reinforcements in the transfer portal. One of those fresh faces officially committed this week, with former Belmont pitcher Ethan Harden set to join the Tigers next season.
The redshirt sophomore will join Butch Thompson's Tigers following a highly successful 2025 campaign as a Bruin. Standing at an even six-feet tall, the left handed reliever struck out 32 batters over 29 2/3 innings of work last season. Harden managed no earned runs across the final 6 innings of his campaign against eventual College World Series participant Murray State.
Auburn's newest relief pitching weapon also faired well against SEC competition in 2025. The incoming junior saw just one batter above the minimum in 2 scoreless frames against Kentucky early in the season before striking out 2 Vanderbilt Commodores in an inning he allowed a solo home run.
While predicting where the newest member of the Tigers' bullpen will fit in is difficult this far out into the season, Thompson's eagerness to capture Harden's talents in the portal this early in the offseason display how big of a piece he could be to Auburn's success in 2026.
Auburn will continue adding talent in hopes of reaching the College World Series for the first time since 2022 next season.

Within the ACC, only two other teams besides Clemson were ranked: the Miami Hurricanes at No. 10 and the SMU Mustangs at No. 15. The Tigers were ranked No. 14 in last year's preseason poll. With Cade Klubnik having a stellar junior season at quarterback (3,639 passing yards, 36 touchdowns), Clemson went 10-4 overall and won their record 22nd ACC championship in school history to earn a trip to the first 12-team College Football Playoff. Popular college football podcast picks Spartans to exceed expectations in 2025
It's predictions season, and one popular college football podcast likes Michigan State to exceed expectations in 2025. Michigan State comes into this season looking to snap a three-year bowl drought, with the Spartans again pegged to be right around the bowl eligibility cutline. But for one popular college football podcast, Michigan State will easily surpass the six win threshold in 2025. The Undergrad CFB podcast released their game-by-game predictions for Michigan State next season and have the Spartans finishing 8-4 overall and 5-4 in Big Ten play. The popular podcast has the Spartans picking up notable wins over Boston College, UCLA, Indiana, Michigan and Iowa this season. I personally have some similar game-by-game predictions that I'll be releasing in the coming weeks ahead of the season. Texas A&M Safety Preview-Can A&M's safety group take a step forward in 2025?
The 2025 football season is coming up fast, and there's plenty of excitement surrounding year two under Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko. One of the most scrutinized position groups this season will be the secondary, especially the safeties. Unless you were living under a rock after the bowl game loss to USC, you heard Elko make it immediately clear: he was furious about the team's poor pass coverage and promised significant changes. Unlike the cornerback position coach Elko the only player added to the safety room was true freshman Rashad Johnson Jr. This shows the amount of faith the staff with the player on the roster to improve. This unit won't just hold the line, it'll bait, confuse, and punish if they can put it all together. Final Thoughts There's upside here, but it's all speculative. Ratcliffe adds versatility, and Anderson brings needed stability. Beyond that, Brooks hasn't anchored a full season, Kerr's the only proven depth, and communication issues still hang over the room. If the vets lock in and the younger guys come on fast, this unit could help A&M turn a corner. But for now, the talent's intriguing, the cohesion isn't.
