His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Labour, inaugurated the Career Day exhibition organised by the Arab Open University (AOU).
Present were Ali Abdulhussain Al Asfoor, Governor of the Northern Governorate, and Sakeena Naser Ali, Assistant President for Administrative and Financial Affairs.

The Career Day aims to introduce AOU students to employment opportunities and career paths offered by participating private sector institutions and companies. Shura panel reviews proposal to set cap on work permits

The Services Committee, headed by Dr Jameela Mohammed Redha Al Salman, held talks with representatives from the Labour Ministry and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), including its chief Nibras Mohammed Talib. At the centre of the draft law is a shift from allowing discretion to requiring the Labour Ministry to state the highest number of permits the authority can issue within a certain period. Northern Governorate Explores New Partnership to Empower Youth and Support Micro-Enterprises
Northern Governor Ali Abdulhussain Al-Asfoor welcomed a delegation from Beit Al-Usra for Microfinance to discuss collaborative efforts aimed at supporting small-scale projects and boosting economic empowerment among low-income groups. The visiting delegation included CEO Mr. Adel Abdulmalik, Senior Manager Mr. Abdullah Saleh, Credit and Risk Manager Ms. Shereen Hussain, and Operations Manager Ms. Sanaa Saleem. Also present was the Director of the Information Systems and Monitoring Department. The discussions centered on expanding access to microfinance solutions to uplift aspiring entrepreneurs and promote self-initiated business ventures. The Governor emphasized the importance of enabling economic participation across all social groups, particularly through innovative and inclusive financial support mechanisms.
