ITV GMB viewers outraged over baby news as they reel 'enough with this'
Entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold teased an exclusive scoop for ITV audiences, reflecting on the recent revelation that Mummy Pig from Peppa Pig was expecting again.
On the latest show, he excitedly announced: "Now we have another treat for you, straight from Peppatown, in their first TV interview as a family of five, it's Daddy Pig on FaceTime!"
The screen then cut to the cartoon character who said: "Let me just pop out of the room! We've just got the little one to down."
But the quirky segment didn't sit well with viewers, who blasted the interview with the fictional character as 'nonsense', reports Bristol Live.
ITV GMB viewers outraged over baby news as they reel 'enough with this'
Disgruntled fans took to social media to voice their dismay, with one viewer venting: "But Peppa Pig takes more of a headline [sic] Complaining to Ofcom".
Another expressed frustration: "With absolutely everything that's f***ed up and going wrong with this country, one of your top 3 headliners is about an imaginary pig?!! Seriously , #GMB producers Need to get outside and speak to everyday folk-".
A third was equally unimpressed, remarking: "W*f is with all these pepper pig stories? It's a f*****g news show yet we have stories about a cartoon as if it's real life."
Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig and the new addition to their family, Evie
And another simply put it: "Enough with this Peppa Pig nonsense."
Someone else wrote: "Dickie Arnold and Peppa Pig's new sibling. I'm almost lost for words. Is that how much you think of your viewers? As someone once said, THAT is a disgrace!"
Expressing disappointment, another person posted: "And this is what British news has come to.."
During the segment where Richard interviewed Daddy Pig, the ITV presenter extended his congratulations regarding the family's new addition, showcasing a baby grow adorned with the Good Morning Britain logo.
People were unimpressed with the interview about Peppa Pig's new sibling
The rest of the family, including Mummy Pig, Peppa Pig, George, and Evie, all made an appearance on the show to chat with the GMB team.
Mummy Pig revealed that they chose the baby's name as a tribute to her great aunt, which came after Peppa had suggested naming her new brother or sister 'baby'.
As the feature concluded, Susanna and Richard reiterated their good wishes.
Good Morning Britain is available to watch on ITVX.

EastEnders star who played Michael Moon unrecognisable in new ITV drama
A former EastEnders star looks completely unrecognisable in a new ITV drama. Stephen Shepherd played the role of Michael Moon in the BBC One soap from 2010-2013. He was the cousin of Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), and also the biological father of Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall). Michael Moon was a dark and manipulative character. He began a relationship with Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) and married her in 2012. Janine gave birth to their daughter Scarlett, but left Michael not long after once she realised he had no intention of committing properly to their relationship and being a dad. Michael was killed in 2013 following a showdown between him, Janine and Alice Branning. Alice found Michael attempting to strangle Janine and stabbed him. This didn't kill Michael, as he then got up and tried to attack Janine again. It was in this moment that Janine stabbed him, which ultimately led to his death. Stephen, who is 51, can now be seen in the second series of Karen Pirie on ITV. The star plays Karen's superior DCS Lees, who often finds it difficult to trust his colleague. The actor looks worlds away from his role as Michael Moon in this, as he is often seen wearing glasses and also doesn't have any hair! 'Michael Moon back on the telly! #KarenPirie', one user of X said recently, expressing their surprise. Echoing the shock this person said: 'Another great series. Great cast, love Pirie's character….and finally worked out why her boss sounded familiar. Michael Moon!! More please!'. More Trending Another added: 'I've finally sat down to watch #KarenPirie from the beginning as I didn't see it the first time, and imagine my surprise when I see Michael Moon from Eastenders pop up!'. Crime drama Karen Pirie is based on Val McDermid's Inspector Karen Pirie novels. View More » Karen is played by Laurel Lyle. Baggs asked: "What was it like amongst the cast, because obviously you're seen as more of a stand out then? "Did anyone have a problem, because all the cast get jealous of things...?" Freddie answered: "You'll see a lot of it unfold." Ella confirmed: "You'll see." Freddie admitted: "Normally we wouldn't be allowed to mention Big Brother and other shows but they let us do it." Ella, 25, agreed: "It was so weird. I was going, 'When I was in my experience' and they were like, 'Ella, you can say when you was in the Big Brother house." Speaking about the dramas set to erupt, she said: "I'm really excited. Normally, I'm not really that excited." And it's not just fans who avidly watch the show. Ella said: "We put it on in the morning, don't we, so we can see what's going to unfold so we know what to expect from the viewers. Watch moment Towie's Ella Rae Wise takes savage swipe at ex Dan Edgar as he moves on with new girl "We watch it on the ITV hub and tune it at night." She gushed: "I'm actually buzzing." The blonde bombshell has recently spoken out against her ex-boyfriend Dan Edgar, accusing him of not "treating her with much respect." The former Towie couple called it quits 18 months after getting together, just days before her stint on Celebrity Big Brother in April. Now, Ella has spoken out about her experience with Dan, especially in the aftermath of their break-up and promised fans would get to see why they ended things on the upcoming season of Towie. The reality TV star was also quizzed about whispers that Dan already has a new girlfriend, but she refused to partake in gossip. Last month, Dan, 35, caused a stir on a Jet2 flight from London Stansted to Faro in Portugal after making a bold move on a woman mid-journey as Ella watched on. CBB ex Ella was accused of shooting 'death stares' to Dan during the entire conversation as Love Island: All Stars couple Sammy Root and Elma Pazar watched on. Dan's potential new romance comes as the Towie cast jetted off to Portugal to kick off filming for the long-running ITV reality series' 15th anniversary. The ITV2 show has splashed out on a cast getaway to celebrate the milestone occasion. The cast flew out to film scenes in June and stayed at a five-star resort in the Algarve for a two-week trip. 5 The infamous reality TV show is on its way back for its 15th anniversary Credit: ITV 5 Ella starred on Celebrity Big Brother and feathers have been ruffled Credit: Rex
