He was a major player in the main event feud between John Cena and Cody Rhodes in the weeks before.
However, the 52-year-old was missing from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
He was nowhere be seen as Cena defeated his rival to win a historic 17th WWE world title.
Fans in the arena and viewers at home were left disappointed with the People's Champion not there.
The Rock had appeared at the Elimination Chamber last month.
He was the catalyst for Cena turning heel for the first time in 22 years.
At the time, he was joined by Travis Scott.
The rapper also appeared and intervened in the main event at Mania on Sunday.
But The Rock was absent, leaving fans upset around the world.
They took to social media to vent their frustration.
"No Rock? hey Dwayne, you're in or you're out. And when you're out," one raged.
"Stay away unless you're committing."
Another added: "Anyone else find that very anticlimactic? Like what???
"Why did Travis Scott have a 5 minute entrance in the middle of the match and WHERE IS THE ROCK????

"Happy for Cena, but WHAT????"
A third said: "'Did they even need The Rock for this heel turn?
"Not a single appearance? Not a single explanation? Come on."
During the main event, Scott took a Cross Rhodes finisher from Cody.
That allowed Cena to get the upper hand and win the title.
He now has the most world championships in the history of the company.
The Rock's latest social media post is of him driving in Hawaii, but it is not known when the image was taken.
It is also not known whether his WrestleMania 41 absence was planned or he pulled out.
Cena is advertised for Monday Night Raw, where he could still show up.

Hulk Hogan 'begged for forgiveness' in tearful final conversation with daughter Brooke before his death at 71

In the days before his passing from a heart attack at age 71, WWE superstar Hulk Hogan was able to reconcile with his estranged daughter, Brooke. After years of no contact between the father and daughter, the 37-year-old Brooke was able to reach out to her dad. According to the National Enquirer, the two shared a short but heartfelt conversation on July 25. Five days later, Hogan passed away at his home in Florida. 'It was a tearful conversation, albeit a short one,' an insider told the outlet. 'Brooke told her dad how much she loved him, how much she missed him. Hulk said he loved her, and he was sorry. 'That was huge for Brooke to hear. Everyone knew how stubborn Hulk could be, but his fading health obviously softened him up. He knew he was dying and begged her forgiveness.' Five days after the news of Hogan's death was announced, Brooke posted a long message on Instagram clarifying their relationship. 'My father and I never 'fought,' she wrote. 'It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand.' Brooke revealed she had felt her father starting to pull away - saying he no longer wanted support or advice from her, despite his health issues. Hogan revealed he had 25 surgeries in the last decade - including 10 back operations, replacements on his knee and hip, and procedures on both shoulders. 'We'd been through almost 25 surgeries together, and all of a sudden he didn't want me at surgeries,' Brooke said. 'But even when they weren't speaking, she cared about him and worried about him,' a source told the outlet. 'The important thing is, when he passed away, they were okay again.' 'Brooke can't help the current state her family is in right now, but she can go on knowing her dad loved her and there was peace between them before he died.'

Russell Wilson left stunned as sold-out crowd BOO him at MetLife ahead of his first season with the Giants

Russell Wilson is the new face of the New York Giants but the veteran NFL quarterback was given a brutal reception by the crowd at MetLife Stadium on Sunday night. The 36-year-old and his family were among the crowd at WWE SummerSlam, which took place at his new home stadium over the weekend. Russell even brought a specially-designed Giants championship belt. But when he appeared on the jumbotron, many inside MetLife booed the quarterback. The 82,000-seater stadium is, of course, also the home of the Giants' rivals, the Jets, with the two New York teams meeting at MetLife for a preseason game on August 16. Wilson is a 10-time Pro Bowler and a Super Bowl winner who spent last season at the Pittsburgh Steelers. The veteran quarterback joined New York in March after agreeing a one-year deal worth up to $21million with the Giants. The Giants also signed Jameis Winston and drafted Jaxson Dart but Wilson was recently named the starter for 2025. Brian Daboll's team will begin the season at the Washington Commanders before travelling to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. Wilson's first chance to wow the crowd at MetLife will come on September 21, when the Kansas City Chiefs are in town. On Sunday night, he watched from the front row as Brock Lesnar controversially returned to WWE after two years in exile due to his alleged involvement in the Vince McMahon lawsuit Lesnar last appeared for the company at SummerSlam in 2023 and was written off television despite being one of the company's biggest stars at the time allegedly due to his ties to the McMahon litigation.

Newmains man who drove to London to chase dream of being a professional wrestler is tearing it up in America

Luke Scouler, better known as Crixus, is a rising star in the USA. A Newmains man who packed in his job and drove to London to enrol in a wrestling academy run by a former WWE star could be on his way to superstardom in the United States. ‌ Luke Scouler, better known to wrestling fans as Crixus, had previously been a fitness instructor before working in residential care with young people at Inspire Scotland, a social care organisation that supports children and young people. ‌ The 33-year-old said: 'I really loved that job. But it was tough emotionally. I've always had a bit of a Batman complex - I thought I was going to save everybody. ‌ 'I was in a bad place with it. I knew it wasn't for me and I was burned out. Let's go.' Scots have made it big in this business – why couldn't I?' ‌ That night, he drove to London accompanied by his dog Odin to enrol in a wrestling academy run by former WWE star Al Snow, who has shared a ring with the likes of legendary wrestling royalty such as the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. 'I drove through the night with no plan and no place to stay,' Luke admitted. 'Me and the dog slept in the car for a bit. Eventually the guy who ran it asked if I was serious. I told him I'd already quit my job and left my house. That was it. We moved into the gym and didn't go back.' ‌ He first landed a place at OVW in 2019, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) – the cult American brand featured in the hit Netflix documentary Wrestlers – after placing first at a 300-person wrestling combine. OVW is the wrestling promotion that launched the careers of John Cena and Batista. However, just as things were taking off for Luke, the Covid pandemic hit and he ended up stuck in the UK for two years. ‌ Now based in Louisville, Kentucky, he became the first ever Scottish OVW champion and is now one of their biggest stars – something which he thinks his upbringing in Scotland prepared him well for. He said: 'We've got thicker skin. You're battle-ready by the time you leave primary school, so wrestling comes naturally to us. ‌ 'I'm a smartass cheeky b******, and the accent helps too. Over here in the States, people already think we're mental which helps. I just turned my personality up to 11. 'I wasn't pretending to be someone else – just the version of me you probably wouldn't want to sit next to in a pub. I get to act like an a*** and they still love me. They boo you, but they're cheering underneath.' ‌ The rise of Crixus comes in the wake of the success of fellow Scots such as Drew McIntyre, an OVW alumnus who became Scotland's first WWE Champion in 2020, and Edinburgh's Joe Hendry who made his WrestleMania debut this year. Portrayed by Zac Efron in the Hollywood movie The Iron Claw, former WWE Hardcore and European champion Al Snow, OVW's head trainer, said: 'With Crixus, we may have another superstar on our hands. His dedication has been incredible. "To make it in this business, you have to sacrifice and do things out of the ordinary. And that's why I think he's got what it takes.' * Don't miss the latest headlines from around Lanarkshire. Sign up to our newsletters here. And did you know Lanarkshire Live is on Facebook?
