Steelers tease big announcement with another cryptic social media post
On July 14 at 6:00 PM EST, the Steelers dropped a new tease on social media — with another July 21 announcement date.
This "Defined by Legacy" teaser matches last week's cryptic social media post on the Steelers' X — the "Forged in Pittsburgh" message, also featuring the July 21 announcement date.
The cat's likely out of the bag, though, as SportsLogos.Net previously reported that the Steelers are set to unveil their new throwback uniforms on this same date — uniforms that supposedly mirror the 2007–2011 throwback design.
Previously, Steelers President Art Rooney II announced new throwback jerseys would be worn against the Green Bay Packers — later confirmed to be in Week 8 on Sunday Night Football.
Here's to hoping that the reports on these jerseys are true — as the gold helmets with all-gold lettering on the black jerseys were some of the best uniform combinations in NFL history.

ESPN unimpressed with Steelers roster changes this offseason in rankings
2025 has been an unprecedented offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh took a hyper-aggressive approach to roster building, including some huge free-agent additions and two blockbuster trades. This is all in an attempt to finally get the Steelers over the hump and actually win a playoff game. ESPN ranked every NFL roster and despite all the moves, they seem underwhelmed by the Steelers. They have Pittsburgh ranked at No. 19 overall. The identified edge rusher as the roster's biggest strength. While we agree that the foursome of T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, Nick Herbig and Jack Sawyer are probably the best in the AFC, this group (minus Sawyer) hasn't been great the last three seasons. Pittsburgh only had 40 sacks last season and hasn't had more than 47 since 2021. As far as the biggest weakness, ESPN went with offensive tackle. This is absolutely a fair point. Broderick Jones has moved to left tackle after taking a step back in his second season and new right tackle Troy Fautanu is coming off of a serious knee injury and is a completely unknown. The Blaire White Project 'I was born there, so it is home for better or for worse,' the transgender social media star told her 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube. I want to be someone who doesn't run from problems,' White said. 'I moved to Texas in the middle of Covid. So I moved to Texas in crisis. The lockdowns weren't ending, so much trauma from that, so much craziness, so it was kind of like an evacuation.' 3 White, 31, announced this week that she'll be returning to Los Angeles after living in Austin in hopes of being part of 'the solution.' Facebook / Blaire White White also said that Los Angeles has now become 'ghetto and downtrodden,' but when she returns, she may seek political office in the future to help change the direction the city and state are heading in. NFL Fans Trashing Steelers' New Uniforms For 2025 Season
NFL Fans Trashing Steelers' New Uniforms For 2025 Season originally appeared on The Spun. After scrapping their Bumblebee uniforms back in 2018, the Pittsburgh Steelers are now reaching back to a similar era with their new throwbacks set to debut this year. On Monday, the team officially unveiled the first look at its 1933-inspired threads that call back to the beginning days of the franchise with gold helmets, gold jerseys with black stripes and large block lettering; along with the City of Pittsburgh crest on the left shoulder and beige pants. The uniforms will reportedly be worn in the team's "Sunday Night Football" matchup vs. the Green Bay Packers this October after last making an appearance in the mid-'90s. It didn't take long for fans to give their (mostly negative) opinions online. "I am issuing a full apology to the Chargers yellow jerseys, it could always be worse," a user said. "Are these the jerseys from Batman?" another person asked. "Ngl this is hideous," a fan commented. "🗑️" "maybe the worst thing ive ever seen," Zach Frydenlund posted. "So cool of the Steelers to pay tribute to the Gotham City Rogues." "This is ….. something," a Chiefs account replied. "these are so incredibly ugly I cannot believe any person with a functioning brain signed off on these," another user admitted. "These should be illegal." There haven't been a lot of changes to the Steelers uniforms over the years. So when they do decide to throw it back, it's usually to a bygone era like the 1930s when the team's look was more... colorful. Should Pittsburgh have brought these back? Or are these ones that could've stayed in the archives?NFL Fans Trashing Steelers' New Uniforms For 2025 Season first appeared on The Spun on Jul 21, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 21, 2025, where it first appeared.
