PODCAST: Josh Sweat makes Top 100, comeback stats for Kurt Warner, Kyler Murray
In a new episode of the podcast, cohost Seth Cox and I have some offseason Arizona Cardinals topics to discuss. New linebacker Josh Sweat, signed to a four-year, $76.4 million contract as a free agent this offseason, was named the No. 95 player in this year's edition of the "NFL Top 100."
Additionally, we discussed a pair of articles I wrote that originated from a tweet about quarterbacks and comebacks from second-half deficits of more than one score.
Hall of Famer Kurt Warner, a Cardinals legend, in 40 such games, never brought his teams back to win.
Kyler Murray has had 42 such games in his career so far and has led the Cardinals to six wins and a tie.

St. Louis Cardinals caught in massive MLB scandal?

The situation with Ortiz comes just a year after a betting scandal struck baseball's top star Shohei Ohtani during his first year with the Los Angeles Dodgers, which turned out to be a massive theft scheme at the hands of his interpreter, who was promptly fired. Advertisement The MLB gambling policy strictly prohibits players, coaches, umpires, club and league officials, and other employees from betting on baseball games, and the penalties can be very severe. After all, that is the whole reason that the all-time hits leader in the game isn't enshrined in Cooperstown as of now.

Could Cardinals former MVP candidate be heading to the Dodgers?
One of the Cardinals corner infielders could be heading (back) to the National League West to relieve the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers of some injury issues that have been plaguing the team as of late. Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy suffered a bone bruise and will miss some time in the field for the Boys in Blue, but a well-known major league name looks like a prime suspect to fill that void, that name being Cardinals hot corner Nolan Arenado. Advertisement Arenado's name was brought up multiple times during the offseason as almost a guaranteed trade prospect for the struggling Cardinals team, especially after first baseman Paul Goldschmidt left the Red Birds to sign with the New York Yankees. But now as the Cardinals sit at 47-40, still fully in the fight for a playoff spot in the NL, there really is no guarantee at this point. However, if the champs were to go after Arenado and bring him back home to his Southern California roots, it would be a significant boost in the defense game, Arenado owning 10 Gold Gloves to his name, and even a slight boost in offense, even though Nolan's 40-homer seasons are much in the past. Nolan grew up in Lake Forest, CA and is an alumnus of El Toro High School, where he was teammates with fellow stellar defensive third baseman Matt Chapman. After 80 games played in the 2025 season, Arenado currently holds a .247 batting average with 10 home runs and 41 runs batted in.
