New Delhi [India], June 25 (ANI): The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the Revised Jharia Master Plan (JMP) for addressing issues related to fire, land subsidence, and the rehabilitation of affected families in the Jharia Coalfield. The total financial outlay for the implementation of the revised plan is Rs 5,940.47 crore,a release said.
The phase wise approach shall ensure that handling of fire and subsidence and rehabilitation of the affected families will be done on priority basis from the most vulnerable sites.
The revised JMP lays a much stronger emphasis on sustainable livelihood generation for families being resettled under the plan. Targeted skill development programmes are to be undertaken and income-generating opportunities will be created to ensure economic self-reliance of the rehabilitated families.
Furthermore, a Livelihood Grant of Rs 1 Lakh and access to credit support of up to Rs 3 Lakh through an institutional credit pipeline will be extended to both Legal Title Holder (LTH) families and Non-Legal Title Holder (Non-LTH) families.
In addition, comprehensive infrastructure and essential amenities--such as roads, electricity, water supply, sewerage, schools, hospitals, skill development centres, community halls, and other common facilities--are to be developed at the resettlement sites. These provisions will be implemented as per the recommendations of the Committee for Implementation of the Revised Jharia Master Plan, ensuring a holistic and humane rehabilitation approach.
As part of the livelihood support measures, a dedicated Jharia Alternative Livelihoods Rehabilitation Fund is to be established to promote livelihood-related activities. Skill development initiatives will also be carried out in collaboration with Multi-Skill Development Institutes operating in the region. (ANI)

"PM Modi always on tour...should've country tourism ambassadors," says Sanjay Raut

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 2 (ANI): Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said he is always on tour and should have a tour and travel ministry. Speaking to reporters, Raut said, 'PM Modi is always on tour, he should have a tour and travel ministry, and should have country tourism ambassadors and should tell in Mann ki Baat what to eat in which country to go...' Raut also criticised the Modi government over Pakistan's growing influence at international forums. He said, 'Ever since PM Modi came, Jaishankar came, Amit Shah came, we could not prove this and today an important post was given to Pakistan in the United Nations. The Army Chief was invited to dinner at the White House.' He questioned the government for ignoring serious domestic issues, including farmers' suicides and recent terror attacks, saying, 'Does Modi Ji know that 1000 farmers died by suicide in Maharashtra in three months? Till now, they have been unable to find the killers in the Pahalgam attack. Air India is finished. They are not able to find out what happened to the plane that crashed in Ahmedabad, and Modi Ji is roaming abroad; this is the condition of the country.' Meanwhile, on the relationship between the RSS and BJP, Raut said, 'RSS and BJP are brothers. If RSS wants, then it can teach the BJP a lesson. The BJP that is seen today is based on the strength of RSS workers.' He further demanded that Prime Minister Modi question US President Donald Trump over his stance towards India. 'Prime Minister Modi should ask Trump what kind of drama you are doing with India. There is no one in the United Nations who can raise our voice. The way President Trump is trying to give power to Pakistan is a danger for India in the near future,' he added. (ANI)

Ajoy Kumar's

New Delhi [India], July 2 (ANI): The Sikkim unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday strongly opposed the 'outrageous and ignorant' statement made by Indian National Congress (INC) leader Ajoy Kumar, in which he referred to Sikkim as a 'neighbouring country' during a press conference at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters. In a post on social media X, the BJP Sikkim unit wrote, 'The BJP Sikkim unit vehemently denounces the outrageous and ignorant statement made by INC leader Ajoy Kumar, who shockingly referred to Sikkim as a 'neighbouring country' during his press conference at AICC headquarters today.' The party further in their post wrote that it was 'utterly deplorable' for a former IPS officer and Member of Parliament to display such an 'appalling disregard' for India's history and geography. The BJP condemned the remarks and, in its post, further wrote that Congress should 'educate' its leaders to prevent such disgraceful blunders. 'It is utterly deplorable that a former IPS officer and Member of Parliament displays such appalling disregard for India's history and geography. The Congress party must immediately educate its leaders to prevent such disgraceful blunders. This shameful remark deserves the strongest possible condemnation,' the post further read. Meanwhile, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla also criticised Congress on the remarks made by Ajoy Kumar and stated that the party was following the 'footsteps of Jinnah.' Poonawalla further stated that the Congress party wanted 'tukde tukde' of Bharat, stating that the remarks made by Kumar were an insult to the entire Northeast India. 'Congress is following the footsteps of Jinnah. It is a 'Jinnahwadi' party. Just like Jinnah wanted that there should be an Islamic state and division of India, the Congress party advocates for a Sharia Islamic state in some parts, and it wants the 'tukde tukde' of Bharat... Today, the statement made by Ajoy Kumar that Sikkim is not an integral part of India and is, in fact, a neighbouring nation, shows how he has insulted not just Sikkim but the entire northeast. Congress has always been against the Northeast,' Poonawalla told ANI. (ANI)

"Stepmotherly treatment": Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge slams Central government over pending relief funds to Himachal Pradesh

New Delhi [India], July 2 (ANI): Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday slammed the central government on the pending relief amount for Himachal Pradesh required during landslides and rainfall. In a post on social media X, Kharge wrote that the Himachal government had demanded a total relief package of Rs 9,000 crore. He further wrote that in 2023, the Congress had announced a total of Rs 4,500 crore to the state, while the Modi government only provided Rs 433 crore to the state, and called it a 'stepmotherly' treatment. 'Even before this year's rainfall, the Himachal government had demanded a total relief package of 9000 crore from the centre. In the 2023 tragedy, the Congress state government had released special assistance of 4500 crore, whereas the Modi government at the centre provided only 433 crore to the state,' he said 'Now, the Modi government has recently announced 2000 crore for 2023 in a hurry, and the BJP is busy taking credit for it, but the relief amount is still pending. This is the stepmotherly treatment of the BJP towards Himachal!! It is hoped that this time, instead of taking credit, the BJP will take action to provide help for the losses,' the post read. Kharge, in his post, demanded that the Central government release the pending disaster relief funds for Himachal Pradesh. He also expressed grief at the loss of lives in the state due to the heavy rainfall and landslides, stating that they were 'extremely distressing.' 'The news of loss of life and property due to heavy rainfall and landslides in Himachal Pradesh for the past several days is extremely distressing. The government and administration are engaged in relief and rescue operations on a war footing. My deepest condolences to the families of the victims. I appeal to Congress leaders and workers to provide every possible assistance to the public. We demand from the central government that the disaster relief funds pending for Himachal Pradesh for the past few years be released with immediate effect,' the post read. A total of 51 people have died while 22 others have been missing due to the torrential rains, flash floods and landslides in Himachal Pradesh, according to the latest official data. (ANI)
