Party ‘insiders' behind the unpalatable comments against me, says TRS MLC Kavitha
'I have authentic information that those comments were made with the support of some insiders in the party, and the way BRS 'brothers' remained silent even after Telangana society reacted strongly further gave credence to my information,' she said at a press conference at her residence on Sunday (August 3, 2025).
Ms. Kavitha claimed a big leader from the BRS was behind those comments, and that is why the BRS leaders remained silent. 'I am aware of how low they have stooped to encourage such comments against me. Your efforts to sideline me and make me lonely will be paid back as I believe in Karma,' she said hinting at some seniors in the party.
Attacking a senior leader from Nalgonda district, whom she did not name but gave enough hints to assume that it was Suryapet MLA G Jagadish Reddy, she objected to certain comments made against her by him. 'The leader who survives only in KCR's shadow, destroyed BRS in Nalgonda,' she stated.
Ms Kavitha objected to the reported comments by him, asking about her position, recognition and deviation from the party, and said everyone in the party got recognition due to Mr. KCR. 'Another small leader who joined the party later is also questioning my credibility. Telangana society will not spare such leaders.'
Responding to BJP leader CM Ramesh's comments on BRS-BJP merger, she said his comments were taken out of her leaked letter written to Mr KCR. 'I know Mr. Ramesh, but have not met him in the last five years. But his comments surely have connection with my leaked letter.'
BC dharna permission yet to come
Ms. Kavitha said the government is yet to give permission on her BC dharna but hoped that the High Court would protect her rights. 'Our petition is being allowed during the lunch motion tomorrow (August 4) and I am hopeful that the government gives permission.'
The 72-hour hunger strike from Monday (August 4, 2025) demanding 42% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) will follow the Gandhian path of peaceful resistance without food or water. She said there were approximately 112 BC castes in Telangana, and the idea behind the 72-hour dharna is to give 40 castes every day an opportunity to express their problems.
Ms. Kavitha also criticised the BJP for its indecisiveness on the proposed ordinance for BC reservations. 'Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi haven't even raised their voices in Parliament on this matter. If they genuinely care, they should at least seek an appointment with the President,' she said.

He added that what the Congress government failed to achieve in 60 years, KCR accomplished in just three years by completing the Kaleshwaram Project and bringing water to drought-hit fields. 'No amount of fake documentation can erase this truth,' he emphasized. Transport workers' stir triggers political slugfest between CM and LoP in Karnataka
The Tuesday protest by the public transport employees triggered a slugfest between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) R. Ashok, with the latter blaming the former for the situation. The Chief Minister launched a counterattack, blaming Mr. Ashok, who earlier handled the transport portfolio in the erstwhile BJP government, for failing to resolve the problems of transport workers back then. It all began with Mr. Ashok blaming the 'misrule' of the Chief Minister and the State's 'financial bankruptcy' as the reasons for the transport workers going on a strike, and demanding the Chief Minister's resignation. 'Save Karnataka and allow Kannadigas to live in peace by tendering resignation to your post,' Mr. Ashok said in a social media post. This Chief Minister shot back, saying it was when Mr. Ashok was the Transport Minister that the transport staff had gone on a 15-day strike as they were not being paid their salaries fully then. Unlike the Congress government that had implemented a pay hike with retrospective effect, the erstwhile BJP government had resorted to prospective revision for them, he said. He further alleged that the recruitment of staff and purchase of new buses had been stopped during the BJP rule, while a financial burden of ₹5,900 crore towards various expenses, including pending diesel bills, had been passed on to the next government. However, the Congress that came to power had appointed 10,000 staff and included 5,200 new buses to the fleet, he said. He alleged that the BJP dispensation had borrowed ₹2,000 crore to pay for diesel bills and Provident Fund of the staff, but left the loan repayment to the Congress government. Mr. Siddaramaiah urged Mr. Ashok to remember the 'injustice' done by the BJP dispensation to transport workers before pointing an accusing finger at the Congress government.

Reservation agitation reaches Delhi; CM to lead dharna at Jantar Mantar today
The fight for BC reservations has now reached the national capital and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is all set to lead a massive protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Wednesday, demanding the passage of bills ensuring 42% reservations for Backward Classes in local body elections, education and employment sectors. The Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues reached New Delhi on Tuesday evening while a special train left from Cherlapally station on Monday morning. The CM and the Ministers were welcomed with banners and posters hung across Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi and also at several places in the national capital. To intensify pressure on the Centre, CM Revanth Reddy will be staging a dharna today at Jantar Mantar. He will be joined by Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, several ministers, MLAs, MLCs, corporation chairpersons and leaders from BC communities. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is expected to attend the protest and extend his solidarity. Leaders from INDIA Bloc parties, including the Samajwadi Party, DMK, Left parties, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP), will also take part and express their support for the ongoing struggle under the leadership of CM Revanth Reddy. Inspired by the slogan 'Jitni Aabadi, Utna Hissedari' (Equal share for equal population) coined by Mr. Rahul Gandhi, the Congress-led Telangana government conducted the Social, Economic, Educational, Employment and Political Caste Survey (SEEEPC) within 18 months of coming to power. Based on its findings, the State passed bills in the Legislative Assembly to provide 42% reservations to BCs. These now await approval from the Central government. Congress leaders say that BJP leaders who had supported these bills in the Telangana Assembly are now backtracking and using Muslims as an excuse to derail BC reservations by indulging in emotional politics. The Chief Minister will be in New Delhi for three days and has also sought an appointment with the President of India. The Telangana delegation will also meet leaders of other parties during their stay.
