Arrow McLaren driver Nolan Siegel missed race two at Iowa Speedway after not getting medically cleared to compete.
Siegel was involved in a crash on Saturday, which left the driver unable to race on Sunday.
McLaren released a statement regarding his status:
"Following an on-track incident on lap 248 of yesterday's race at Iowa Speedway, Nolan Siegel has not been cleared to compete by the indyCar Medical team," McLaren's statement read.

Nolan Siegel, driver of the #6 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet, looks on during the Carb Day practice prior to the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 23, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana. More"The team has made the decision to not run the No.6 NTT Data Arrow McLaren Chevrolet without its team driver in today's race.
"Nolan will continue to be evaluated and we will stay in close contact with the medical team as he recovers."
During race one on Saturday, Siegel suffered a massive collision with the wall as he spun and lost control of his McLaren. He managed to get out of his car, but he looked compromised.
Siegel misses out on an opportunity to get a solid haul of points. He qualified in fifth position, and the 20-year-old looked poised for a solid result.

Instead, he watched from the sidelines.
"There's no place I'd rather be than out there driving today, especially from P5; one of my best starting positions of the season" Siegel said in a team statement.
"I know I'm in good hands with the INDYCAR Medical Team and thank them for the great care they provide us drivers.
"Most of all, I feel for the 6 car crew. They gave me a rocket this weekend and put in a ton of work last night with hopes we'd be racing today. They deserve to be out there fighting for podium, and we'll be back soon to do just that."
McLaren team principal Tony Kanaan shared his sympathy for Siegel, who was forced to miss the race.
"I've been there, I know how Nolan feels not racing today," he said.
"It's the worst feeling in the world. The most important thing, though, is that he's fit to race, and unfortunately, that's not the case today.
"It was a tough decision to park the car, but we've been through this before. We just found out this morning he's not cleared, and we decided the best thing for the team is to not rush into switching drivers this weekend. It's too much of a shuffle and unnecessary stress when we're right back to racing in Toronto in a week. After today, we'll have to make a contingency plan in case Nolan's not cleared to race in Toronto, but today, this is the best for the team."
Siegel currently sits in P21 in the standings and places as the lowest Arrow McLaren driver. His teammates, Pato O'Ward and Christian Lundgaard, are both in the top five.
His status for next week's race in Toronto remains up in the air.

Jordan Spieth Makes Personal Statement amid Scottish Open MIA

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Jordan Spieth's summer has been like a roller coaster ride on the golf course. The 3-time major winner withdrew mid-round from the Travelers Championship last month due to a sudden neck injury. That continued pain also forced him to skip the Genesis Scottish Open, which announced Chris Gotterup as the winner on Sunday. The Travelers setback marked the 13-time PGA Tour winner's first career withdrawal in 297 PGA Tour starts. But not all news is grim! While Rory McIlroy was battling Clark and Gotterup at the Renaissance Club, Spieth shared a personal milestone that lit up social media. "We added a new member to the foursome – Sully Spieth! Everyone is doing great," he posted on Instagram, announcing the birth of his third child. The photo featured newborn Sully, joining siblings Sammy and Sophie, and wife Annie Spieth. Congrats to @JordanSpieth and his family on their newest addition 💙 — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) July 13, 2025 Known for his warmth around kids and family-first approach, Spieth's bond with his children has often been visible, whether walking the Par-3 contest at Augusta or sharing quiet moments off the course. With Sully's arrival, that connection deepens. "I've got a couple little kids, another one on the way, and, you know, so obviously perspectives change, what priorities change in the course of life. "I get to have my son and daughter out on the par-three tomorrow... it's just forever till I have kids out here," Jordan said earlier this season when asked about balancing golf and fatherhood. Now, Sully is officially part of the foursome. Earlier this week, Spieth confirmed he'll be a "late arrival" but is "back to full strength" and has "no restrictions" heading into the final major of the season. His history at The Open holds a strong stat, including the 2017 win at Royal Birkdale, a runner-up finish in 2021, and five top-10s in his 11 starts. Baker Mayfield Cements Legend Status with Beer Shotgun at ACC

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. This week, Lake Tahoe played host to the largest celebrity golf tournament of the year, the American Century Championship. Stars from all walks of life, and in particular athletes from sports outside of golf, take part each year. While NHL legend Joe Pavelski stole the trophy, edging out Stephen Curry, John Smoltz, and Baker Mayfield with a walk-off eagle, one of the weekend's viral moments belonged to Mayfield himself. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB didn't just swing clubs, but hilariously cemented his legend status shotgunning a beer in full swagger. (Photo by) More Getty Images Mayfield, paired with Jason and Travis Kelce at the American Century, was part of the most chaotic trio on the course. The Kelce brothers had a side bet that every three-putt meant shotgunning a beer. Mayfield joined in with team, spitting up foam mid-shotgun and laughing it off. The quarterback then took it up a notch, challenging fans to a shotgun duel near the 17th tee. Mayfield won, of course, earning the unofficial title of ML (Most Legendary) in any QB beer contest. I'm taking Baker Mayfield ML in any QB shotgunning competition 😂 (via pcmase/TT) — br_betting (@br_betting) July 13, 2025 This isn't new territory for Mayfield. His off-field antics have long been part of his brand. Back in 2019, he went viral for chugging a beer at a Cleveland Guardians game. Let alone some of the stuff from college. Baker Mayfield's game at the American Century Championship didn't crack the top 10, but his presence was felt. He finished outside the top 20, while Travis Kelce landed at 68th. Jason Kelce, on the other hand, closed 83rd. More Golf: Scottish Open 2025: $9M Purse Breakdown as Chris Gotterup Changes His Life

IndyCar Series 2025 drivers championship, Rookie of the Year, Leaders Circle standings after Iowa

The 2025 IndyCar Series season is busy and Alex Palou has won seven races, most notably the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Kyle Kirkwood has won three, and Scott Dixon and Pato O'Ward one each. Here's where the drivers and teams stand in the season-long points, Rookie of the Year and Leaders Circle races. Complete results: IndyCar Farm to Finish 275 at Iowa Speedway (Through 12 of 17 races) Foster rattled off a pair of 14th-place finishes this weekend at Iowa Speedway, while Shwartzman registered a career-best ninth place finish Sunday to go with 20th on Saturday. After crashing out in last place (27th) Saturday, Abel recovered for his best IndyCar finish to date Sunday in 11th. IndyCar's Leaders Circle program pays eligible teams just over $1 million the following season in guarantees. To qualify for one of the 22 spots, the entry must be associated with one of IndyCar's 25 charters — teams are allowed to have a maximum of three. Only Prema Racing's two cars remain unchartered. The 25 chartered cars are then ranked by entrant points and, at the end of this season, the top 22 eligible entries will be paid $1.2 million or more by Penske Entertainment throughout the 2026 season. Here are the cars around the bubble after IndyCar's Iowa doubleheader weekend: 19. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing No. 15, 169 points 20. Andretti Global No. 28, 164 points 21. Arrow McLaren No. 6, 156 points 22. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing No. 45, 150 points ------------------------------------------------------------- 23. Juncos Hollinger Racing No. 77, 120 points 24.
