The event, organised by the Information Department (JaPen), will feature a mix of patriotic activities, community engagement, and government services.
Free shuttle bus services will be provided from the Bentayan Terminal and around Muar to facilitate visitor movement.
'Four buses will operate with intervals of 10 to 15 minutes,' said JaPen director-general Julina Johan during a media briefing in Putrajaya.
The main launch ceremony on July 27 will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
A highlight of the event is the Jalur Gemilang Convoy, which for the first time includes a maritime contingent with 59 fishing boats, two Marine Department vessels, and enforcement agency boats.
Pre-launch activities starting July 25 include patriotic film screenings, community engagement sessions, and the Kita MADANI Carnival, offering government services such as police summons discounts, health screenings, and business advisory for youths.
'We are engaging directly with the people, especially in Bandar Maharani Muar,' Julina added.
On July 26, the Bakti Komuniti MADANI Programme will feature gotong-royong, free haircuts, and engine oil changes at Taman Tun Sulaiman Ninam Shah.
Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching will officiate the event.
The same day will also see the 2025 MADANI Community Retreat in Melaka, gathering over 2,300 members, followed by the Suara MADANI singing competition with cash prizes for winners.
The celebrations culminate on July 27 with a 6.8km Merdeka Fun Run & Walk, where the first 1,000 participants receive T-shirts and medals.
The National Day celebration will be held on August 31 in Putrajaya, while Malaysia Day takes place on September 16 in Penang.

Sabah Museum embraces AR/VR tech, cultural ambassadors

Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew stated that through this immersive technology, visitors can not only view but also experience the atmosphere of traditional houses from various Sabah ethnic groups in an interactive three-dimensional format. 'Through this technology, traditional houses are not merely displayed but revived. Visitors can 'enter' these houses anytime, anywhere. This digital transformation conveys the message that heritage is not just to be remembered but also to be experienced in a modern way by today's generation,' she said in a speech text read by Assistant Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai during the Sabah Museum Diamond Jubilee Launch on Saturday. The event was held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Sabah Museum's establishment as an institution preserving the state's history and cultural heritage. According to Liew, the appointment of Unduk Ngadau (Beauty Queen) 2025 Atitih Yati Robert as Sabah Museum Ambassador aims to extend the reach of heritage messaging to youth, artists, cultural figures and social media influencers. 'This ambassador will serve as a cultural spokesperson, conducting awareness programs and promoting historical values to the community through physical and digital channels,' she explained. The introduction of AR/VR technology and the involvement of a young ambassador is seen as a dual-pronged approach to bridge the gap between traditional heritage and modern reality. This transforms the museum beyond an exhibition venue into an interactive center for learning, recreation, and cultural connection. She added that the Sabah Museum Diamond Jubilee exhibition features visual documentation, archival materials, and a chronological display of the department's development since 1965, honoring Sabah's longstanding custodians of collective memory. 'I extend my highest appreciation to the entire Sabah Museum Department staff who, for six decades, have strived to document, preserve, and build the identity of this state. As long as this spirit continues, Sabah Museum will remain a beacon of knowledge, heritage and identity for the people, not only at the state level but also nationally and internationally,' she said. Sabah Museum now has 23 branches and in-situ sites across the state, including the Tun Mustapha Museum Kudat, Agnes Keith House Sandakan, Keningau Heritage Museum, and the Bukit Tengkorak Archaeological Site in Semporna. Plans are also underway to open another new museum in Ranau. Traditional houses showcased at Sabah Museum include those from the Bongi, Rungus, Murut, Bisaya, Lotud, Brunei Malay, Hakka Chinese planter, Suluk, Iranun, Makiang, Kalabuan, Gana, Lundayeh, Tombonuo, Begahak, Tatana, Sonsogon, and Kedayan ethnic groups. Groundbreaking for new landmark bridge among Sarawak Day events in Miri

MIRI (July 16): Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will perform the groundbreaking ceremony for a new iconic bridge project here on Sarawak Day (July 22). The cable-stayed bridge will connect Kampung Pulau Melayu to Marina Bay and Commercial Centre, completing the coastal road link to the Brunei border at Sungai Tujuh. 'The Premier will officiate at the earth-breaking ceremony of this iconic Miri bridge at the parking space in front of Pullman Hotel at Miri Waterfront Commercial Centre on July 22 at 10.20am,' Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, who is Sarawak Day 2025 celebrations organising committee chairman, told a press conference. The bridge is expected to become a tourist attraction like the iconic Darul Hana Bridge in Kuching. The three-day celebration will begin on July 20 with a Zumba session at 7am at Miri Indoor Stadium, where organisers are offering 5,000 free T-shirts and 1,200 towels, with a treadmill as the grand prize. There will also be a three-day search for the next TVS host with prizes including RM5,000 for the champion along with a six-month probationary contract with the state-owned station and the possibility of permanent employment. Second- and third-placed winners will receive RM3,000 and RM2,000 respectively. 'Those with talent for hosting or singing are encouraged to join,' Lee said. That evening, a Multi-Faith Thanksgiving Ceremony will take place at 8pm at Meritz Hotel, led by the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor). On July 21, a thanksgiving ceremony will be held at 6pm at the At-Taqwa Mosque, organised by the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department.
