Jim Irsay to be inducted into Colts Ring of Honor
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Jim Irsay, the late owner and CEO of the Indianapolis Colts, will be inducted into the Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor at Lucas Oil Stadium during the September 7 home opener vs. the Miami Dolphins.
Irsay passed away on May 21 and was laid to rest on June 2. The Colts made the announcement June 13 on what would have been Irsay's 66th birthday.

'There was no bigger advocate for the Colts, the NFL, the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana than our dad, Jim Irsay,' said Colts Owner and CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon. 'It's only fitting that he now joins the other amazing Colts legends in our Ring of Honor who contributed so much to our franchise and our community over the past four decades.'
Jim was born and raised in the Chicago area, but some of his memories came from his youth working Colts training camps in Baltimore, Maryland, after his father, a Chicago businessman, acquired the Baltimore Colts in 1972. There, Jim started his 54-year affiliation with the Colts and began 'cultivating a lifetime of relationships' with players, coaches and staff.

After graduating in 1982 from Southern Methodist University, where he played football and earned a degree in broadcast journalism, Jim joined the franchise and worked in virtually every department before being named the youngest general manager in NFL history when the Colts arrived in Indianapolis in 1984. In 1987, he helped lead the team to its first division title and playoff appearance during the Indianapolis era. After he assumed sole ownership of the club in 1997, Jim oversaw a 'historic, record-breaking' period of success on the field.
The Colts say, overall, Jim, as owner, led them to 10 division titles, two AFC Championships and the club's fourth world championship. From 2007 to 2012, the Colts played in two Super Bowls (XLI, XLIV) and hosted a Super Bowl in a span of just six years.
Officials say a pillar of his lasting legacy is the powerful influence Kicking The Stigma has had, is having and will have on improving mental health awareness, research and treatment in Indiana and across the United States.

Recently, the NFL Live crew found itself engaged in a conversation about the NFC East's quarterbacks. The names are familiar: Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescott, Jayden Daniels, and Russell Wilson. Former Cowboys star Marcus Spears shared an unexpected expectation about one of them. He expects Daniels to be the best offensive signal-caller in the division soon. Well, at least he didn't cast his vote for Dak Prescott, but something else is afoot here. Where does this refusal to give Jalen Hurts the proper respect come from? He wasn't mentioned at all in Spears' theory, but if we're talking about making plays 'off-script', few do so better than Hurts. Here's another nugget, or several. While every starting quarterback in the NFC East is interesting, albeit for different reasons, two have appeared in two Super Bowls. One of those two has been so unimpressive and inconsistent for so long that few can recall when he was still effective. You all can argue among yourselves about which guy we're discussing, but here's a hint. It's Russell Wilson. Spears and everyone else who loves Daniels aren't wrong about his potential. It's just seemingly off-base to promote him to the first chair in a division where one of the game's best reigns supreme. Daniels was phenomenal in his first year, but now he has to repeat that success. Let's see how he does in year two at the helm, and once we rule out the possibility of a sophomore jinx, then we can reassess.

Robert Kraft makes promise to Patriots fans after three losing seasons
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft made a promise to fans ahead of the 2025 NFL season. That promise comes on the heels of the team hiring Mike Vrabel as its new head coach and upgrading at various roster positions after back-to-back 4-13 regular season finishes. When appearing on The Adam Schefter Podcast, Kraft pointed to the team's active free agency and 2025 NFL draft as reasons for fans to be optimistic this year. 'We have a new coach in Mike Vrabel who is really connected with the players, who's doing great work," said Kraft. "We have a young quarterback and a lot of great veterans—free agent veterans who came in. A great draft class. We're gonna have fun this year, I promise.' There haven't been many reasons to be optimistic about the Patriots in recent years. They have not made the playoffs since the 2021 season, and they have endured losing records in three consecutive years. To take things a step further, they haven't even won a playoff game since their Super Bowl LIII victory over the Los Angeles Rams. There is a sense of change with the arrival of Vrabel and a more experienced coaching staff. Quarterback Drake Maye looks like he could be a future standout, and the team has done a much better job of surrounding him with the necessary talent to be successful. Sauce Gardner opens up on how LeBron James played role in him meeting Ice Spice
LeBron James, even if unintentionally, helped play the role of matchmaker for Sauce Gardner's rumored relationship with rapper Ice Spice, the Jets cornerback told TMZ. Gardner appeared on an April 2024 episode of 'The Shop' — a podcast featuring James — alongside rapper Travis Scott, former NFL wideout Chad Ochocinco and star Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez, and Gardner told the outlet he believes that's when the couple met in person for the first time. They seemingly became Instagram official just over one year later in a post shared by Ice Spice with her and Gardner posing in front of a bathroom mirror.
