Glen Powell Is Desperate to Win a Killer Competition Show in ‘The Running Man' Trailer
The film takes place in the near-future, in which contestants must spend 30 days surviving being hunted by deadly assassins for a chance at an ever-growing cash prize, all while the proceedings are broadcast on TV. Powell stars as a father attempting to help his daughter.

'I have never worked harder on a movie in my life,' said Powell at CinemaCon in April, where he debuted the first footage from the film, which has has a Nov. 7 release date from Paramount.
Wright wrote the script with Michael Bacall, basing the work off of King's 1982 novel that has been praised for predicting the rise of reality TV culture, albeit taking it to the extreme.
The cast also includes William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, Jayme Lawson with Colman Domingo and Josh Brolin. Simon Kinberg, Nira Park and Wright produce the film.
King's book was previously adapted into the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie of the same name, with Powell saying he's received Schwarzenegger's blessing for the new film, connecting with the action star through his son, Patrick Schwarzenegger. 'Arnold gave us his full blessing and we get to give Arnold a very specific, fun gift from the movie,' Powell previously said.

Joey Chestnut reclaims title in Nathan's Famous hot dog eating contest
NEW YORK — Famed competitive eater Joey 'Jaws' Chestnut reclaimed his title Friday at the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July hot-dog eating contest after after skipping last year's gastronomic battle in New York for the coveted Mustard Belt. Chestnut, 41, consumed 70 1/2 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, falling short of his record of 76 wieners and buns set on July 4, 2021. It marked the 17th win in 20 appearances for the Westfield, Indiana, eater at the internationally televised competition, which he missed in 2024 over a contract dispute. Defending champion in the women's division, Miki Sudo of Tampa, Florida, won her 11th title, downing 33 dogs, besting a dozen competitors. Last year, she ate a record 51 links. A large crowd, many wearing foam hot dog hats, braved high temperatures to witness the annual eat-a-thon, held outside the original Nathan's Famous restaurant in Coney Island, Brooklyn, since 1972. Many show up to see Chestnut's much-awaited return to an event he has called 'a cherished tradition, a celebration of American culture, and a huge part of my life.' Chestnut bested 14 fellow competitors from across the U.S. and internationally, including Australia, the Czech Republic, Ontario, England and Brazil. Last year, Major League Eating event organizer George Shea said Chestnut would not be participating in the contest due to a contract dispute. Chestnut had struck a deal with a competing brand, the plant-based meat company Impossible Foods. Chestnut told The Associated Press last month that he had never appeared in any commercials for the company's vegan hot dogs and that Nathan's is the only hot dog company he has worked with. But Chestnut acknowledged he 'should have made that more clear with Nathan's.' Last year, Chestnut ate 57 dogs — in only five minutes — in an exhibition with soldiers, at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. He said that event was 'amazing' and he was pleased to still have a chance to eat hot dogs — a lot of them — on July Fourth. 'I'm happy I did that, but I'm really happy to be back at Coney Island,' he said. Last year in New York, Patrick Bertoletti of Chicago gobbled up a 58 to earn the men's title. Welcome to Screen Time! I'm Nora, and if there's one thing you need to know about me, it's that I love watching TV and movies. I also absolutely love being absorbed in fandoms. This week, it's a little more movie-focused, as I dive into what movies you should watch this weekend, including a documentary from Mariska Hargitay that made me weep. I also share what's all over my FYP — like the Superman cast being my favorite new cast — and what we've got going on over on BuzzFeed Celeb's YouTube channel, plus more. Thanks for joining me! It's a long weekend here in the US, so here's a super-sized weekend rec list: 28 Years Later — watch for: Jodie Comer being, well, Jodie freakin' Comer In theaters now It only took me one (1) of these before I mentioned Jodie Comer. My friends will honestly be shocked that it took me this long. The third installment in this series, Danny Boyle's 28 Years Later follows Spike (Alfie Williams), who has grown up on an island off the coast of northern England, away from the mainland that has been ravaged by the Rage Virus. With his mom, Isla (Jodie Comer), getting sicker, Spike decides to leave his dad (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) behind and take Isla to the mainland in hopes of finding a mysterious doctor (Ralph Fiennes). If you couldn't tell, you need to see this movie for Jodie. She never misses, in my opinion. Her performance as Isla made me uncontrollably sob more than I'd like to admit, and I just think she brings such raw, human emotion to a character in an extraordinary setting. Also, this is Alfie's very first movie, and he's outstanding. If you're a zombie movie fan, I think this is worth watching, and if you're a Jodie fan, it's a must-watch. Also, it's currently my second favorite 2025 movie behind Sinners. Jurassic World Rebirth — watch for: Jonathan Bailey in his slutty little glasses In theaters now Directed by Gareth Edwards, Jurassic World Rebirth reboots the Jurassic Park series once again, this time with Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, and more. The film follows Zora Bennett (Johansson), who is recruited to collaborate with paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis (Bailey) and Duncan Kincaid (Ali) to infiltrate a forbidden island that was once used as a dinosaur research facility. It's a Jurassic Park movie after all, so expect a lot of tense dinosaur moments. However, this movie was kind of lacking for me, and I think Kong: Skull Island did the same plot much better. So, I'm curious what you all think! But, if there's one thing I'm always going to love, it's Jonathan Bailey, so I did enjoy him and his 'slutty little glasses.' And, I just love how much Scarlett loves Jurassic Park, like she used to sleep in a Jurassic Park tent in her bedroom growing up. LIKE, IT'S SO CUTE! So, I want her to be able to make another one of these movies because her love for it is so wholesome. Ironheart — watch for: Dominique Thorne and a WandaVision theory finally coming true Streaming on Disney+ It's no secret that a lot of people are feeling some Marvel fatigue, but I am here to tell you that Ironheart is worth binge-watching. Executive produced by Ryan Coogler, the show follows Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), who has returned to Chicago with her iron suit and ends up getting involved with Parker Robbins/Hood (Anthony Ramos) and his crew. Dominique is such a breath of fresh air as Riri, and I love seeing her really own this space in the MCU and create such a flawed hero you want to root for. The show really dives into grief and the lengths we go to after losing someone close, and I think it's just a great message on top of some amazing superhero moments. Also, the show FINALLY makes a longstanding WandaVision theory a reality, and as someone who has been screaming about [spoiler] since 2021 with my WandaVision Easter eggs posts, I feel vindicated. I feel alive. I WILL need an Ironheart Season 2. My Mom Jayne — watch for: Mariska Hargitay continuing to be the best of us Streaming on HBO Max I wouldn't consider myself a huge documentary person, but I love old Hollywood, so My Mom Jayne was an immediate watch for me. Directed by Mariska Hargitay, the film explores Jayne Mansfield's rapid rise to fame in the 1950s, her relationships, and her sudden death at just 34 years old. A lot of people might not realize that Mariska is Jayne's daughter, so it's a documentary that allows Mariska to really come to terms with who her mom was outside of Hollywood's 'smartest dumb blonde.' It's just a moving portrait of family and grief, and it even includes Mariska finally revealing that Mickey Hargitay wasn't actually her biological father, a secret she's held onto for 30 years despite it being a much-discussed Hollywood rumor. I sobbed through this movie, especially when Mariska's husband, Peter Hermann, surprises her with Jayne's piano. These are some of my favorite things from my FYP, feed, and more: Project Hail Mary released its first trailer this week, and it's easily one of my most anticipated movies of 2026. I just finished the book a few weeks ago, and I highly encourage reading it before the movie. I am so hyped, as is the rest of my timeline: Based on the book by Andy Weir, Project Hail Mary follows Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling), a teacher who is suddenly recruited to become an astronaut in order to help save Earth's dying sun. The story unfolds with us seeing how Ryland ended up in space, as he wakes up with amnesia, unsure of what happened to him and how he got to space. You can watch the trailer below: This week, over on BuzzFeed Celeb, we had the adorable cast of Squid Game Season 3 — Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Park Sung-hoon, Kang Ae-sim, Jo Yu-ri, and Yim Si-wan — play with puppies while answering all of our questions about themselves and the final season of the hit Netflix series. They were so wholesome, the puppies were absolutely chaotic, and it made me love this cast even more. We talked about which scenes they couldn't get through without laughing, what it was like working with T.O.P., the celebs they've been surprised to find out are fans of Squid Game, and so much more.
