Britain's Got Talent judge quits panel as huge star 'in talks' to take over iconic gig

Daily Mirror15 hours ago
A Britain's Got Talent judge has reportedly sensationally quit the iconic ITV talent show. Bruno Tonioli has reportedly decided to step away from the show after just two series on the judging panel.
It has been reported that newcomer KSI is the star who is in talks to become Bruno's permanent replacement.
Rumours had circulated that the Italian TV personality may find it impossible to film the next series of the show with his commitment to filming Dancing with the Stars in America - with both reportedly taking place this autumn.
However, Bruno has now officially quit the ITV show, according to insiders. Bruno, 69, joined the judging panel in 2023 following David Walliams ' departure. He quickly became a fan favourite as he joined Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon on the iconic panel.
Despite Simon's efforts to keep him on the show, Bruno's ongoing commitments to Dancing With The Stars has reportedly now made it impossible for him to continue on the show.
A show insider confirmed the news to The Sun, as they stated: 'Bruno has officially quit Britain's Got Talent and they are hoping that KSI will replace him.
"He absolutely loved being on the panel with Simon, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden but Bruno just can't juggle his schedule with filming. There is no bad blood and Bruno is leaving with a smile on his face.'
Earlier this week, rumours had circulated about Bruno quitting the show as a source said: "The filming schedule in 2024 meant that Bruno could get away with not being present for filming one week of auditions.
"But it would be virtually impossible for him to miss two weeks, because in the final edit, that equates to half the episodes in the new three-month run of BGT, which will air from February of 2026."
They added that there is "absolutely no ill feeling about the situation" and that it is purely down to difficult schedules.
The Mirror understands that conversations around this year's BGT line-up are still underway.
Rapper and internet personality KSI is currently tipped to replace Bruno if he leaves, with the rapper having filled in for the ex Strictly star on a number of occasions in the last series.
He proved to be a massive hit with viewers when he joined the panel for BGT's Blackpool auditions and went on to appear at the live semi-finals.
Meanwhile, comedian Alan Carr is also reportedly in the running, having previously revealed that he was originally in talks to take over from David Walliams.
Back in 2023, the long-standing friend of Amanda Holden revealed that the show had told him that he would be joining BGT before later confirming that Bruno had landed the role.
"I don't really know what went on. It was that awful thing of people saying I was devastated. I was on the set of my sitcom, which I wrote and I'm producing, so I was not devastated about not being on BGT," he said.
He added that he later saw Simon Cowell at a party held by Amanda Holden and joked about missing out on the judging role, to which Simon replied: "That's showbizness."
The Mirror has approached a Britain's Got Talent spokesperson for comment on this story.

Jack P Shepherd hits the town with Corrie co-stars before wedding despite stag do snub

Jack P Shepherd was seen hitting the streets of Manchester with his Coronation Street co-stars last night less than 24 hours before he's due to tie the knot with Hanni Treweek Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd was spotted out with his ITV co-stars last night, less than 24 hours before his big day. ‌ The David Platt actor, 37, is gearing up to wed his wife-to-be Hanni, 36, in Manchester this afternoon, just over one year after the Celebrity Big Brother winner popped the question while on safari in Tanzania, Africa. ‌ The duo are set to have a 'no expenses spared wedding,' but there was one tradition he was adamant to ditch; the stag do. It seemed like his co-stars Colson Smith and Nick Tilsley actor Ben Price managed to change his mind as the trio were snapped out on the town last night. ‌ In the pictures, Jack can be seen beaming walking down the streets of Manchester with his co-stars Ben Price and Colson Smith. The trio looked in high spirits as the hit the streets of Manchester before the big day, with Jack looking smart in a white shirt and black trousers. Colson opted for a more casual look as he wore a hoody and trainers, while Ben wore a chunky blue cardigan over a shirt. ‌ The three appeared to share a joke during their journey through Manchester, as they could be seen chuckling to one another - perhaps about the fact Jack was adamant he didn't want a stag do... In January this year, Jack revealed he doesn't want a stag do. He previously admitted: "No, I don't like the idea of going on a stag do where someone just takes the p*** out of you all weekend and you're the butt of every joke and you have to dress up like a f***ing baby." ‌ However, axed Coronation Street co-star Colson Smith, who played Craig Tinker on the soap, later had an awkward admission for the star on their On the Sofa podcast. ‌ "There is something that I need to broach with you on this subject and I don't quite know when the right time to do this is," Colson began. "Now is the right time, but you're very very against it. But I just need to tell you that it's happening, that there is a small group of us, which is only four people and then including yourself, that's five, but we have to tell you now that you are having a stag do." Colson then went on to reassure Jack it would be a low-key affair after Jack reluctantly suggested that they could "go for a bit of food and then go out".

Saturday Kitchen star addresses absence as they make BBC return

On the latest instalment of BBC's Saturday Kitchen, host Matt Tebbutt was quick to welcome back his co-star. Saturday Kitchen host Matt Tebbutt was thrilled to welcome back a much-loved figure on the BBC show. ‌ During the most recent instalment, the presenter wasted no time in addressing the absence of wine expert Olly Smith. ‌ As Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty handed over to Matt during BBC Breakfast to discover what was happening in his show, the 51-year-old turned his attention to his colleague. ‌ Matt commented: "He's back! Olly Smith, where have you been all my life?!" Olly replied: "Oh well, all your life! Well, over the last few weeks, I've had a triple threat of writing, going to weddings, and festivals." ‌ The Saturday Kitchen host questioned whether or not the nuptials were fun to attend. He added: "They were actually to be fair, I was going to be mean, but no, they were really lovely. I mean, who doesn't love to celebrate love?" Usually, BBC viewers are used to seeing Olly alternate on Saturday Kitchen with fellow wine expert Helen McGinn. ‌ Over the past few weeks, Helen has been holding down the fort, with Olly's last appearance on the show before taking a brief break being June 14. Currently, there's speculation that Saturday Kitchen's Matt Tebbutt could be the new face of MasterChef, following the axing of John Torode and Gregg Wallace. ‌ A source told The Sun: "Matt is seen as a really safe pair of hands by the BBC. He has been in the frame for some time and is now being lined up for MasterChef. The BBC are keen to bring Andi Oliver on board too. She has been so popular as host of the Great British Menu." They further added: "They're not sure if she can commit at this stage because of her schedule with that show, but everyone is hoping they can get her on board. Everyone loves Andi, and she would be perfect for the role in many ways. "She is very talented on her own merit, but she would also help bring a more diverse look to the show, which is much needed. The last thing the show wants is to be slapped with being 'pale, and stale' by a new generation of food lovers." The presenting change comes as former hosts John and Gregg were both axed by the BBC after an investigation upheld allegations about them both in regards to "inappropriate behaviour".

The star admitted that she used to continuously take tests, but it was still a shock when she saw that positive line.
