Steelers announce Pat McAfee Show is headed to training camp: here's what fans should know
On Friday, the Steelers announced that The Pat McAfee Show is headed to training camp on July 30 — a spectacle fans won't want to miss, with the gates opening at 11 a.m. EST.
A little over a month ago, Aaron Rodgers invited and implored McAfee to host his show at training camp — and after some discussion with the crew, he agreed.
McAfee, a born and raised Yinzer, turned the Steel City upside down with his successful Big Night AHT show back in April — captivating Pittsburgh sports fans with surprise appearances from legends like Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger, Penguins' Sidney Crosby, and even Pirates' phenom Paul Skenes.
Fans should expect a heavy dose of hilarious Steelers interviews from the training camp edition of The Pat McAfee Show — and arguably the most entertaining appearances would be Rodgers, Mike Tomlin, Cameron Heyward, or the new highest-paid non-quarterback, T.J. Watt.

Report: Notre Dame to unofficially host 5-star Penn State commit in hopes of a flip
The recruiting battles between Notre Dame and Penn State continue, and this time it's the Irish attempting to flip a 2027 Nittany Lions commit. Kemon Spell made his verbal to PSU in August of 2024, but according to a report by 247Sports Tom Loy, the 5-foot, 9-inch and 205-pound star running back will make an unofficial trip to South Bend when they host Texas A&M on Sept. 13th. That's not the only visit the country's No. 9 overall prospect according the 247Sports Composite will visit, as trips to see Penn State, Florida State and Alabama will happen during the season as well. The report also states that Spell will try and make it out to a game against Ohio State, all of which means that he most likely could be heading towards flipping to another school. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, but the Irish would love to have another 5-star prospect entering its program. At the current moment, Notre Dame has three commits in the 2027 class, highlighted by quarterback Teddy Jarrard. We are sure that he'd love to see Spell in the backfield with him in South Bend. Iowa football QB Mark Gronowski named to 2025 Maxwell Award watch list

The Maxwell Award is presented annually to the most outstanding player in college football. At 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, the native of Naperville, Illinois, will be in his first and final season with the Hawkeyes after transferring from South Dakota State, where he led the Jackrabbits to a pair of FCS national championships in 2022 and 2023. Gronowski was the 2023 FCS statistical leader in passing efficiency (179.67) and compiled a 49-6 career record as the Jackrabbits' starting quarterback, with the 49 wins tying for the most wins in history by an FCS quarterback. Gronowski has already won the FCS equivalent of the Maxwell Award, when he secured the 2023 Walter Payton Award with South Dakota State. The Maxwell Award has been awarded to College Football's Player of the Year since 1937 and is named in honor of Robert Maxwell for his contributions to the game as a player, sportswriter, and official. Only two Hawkeyes have ever won the high distinction in the award's history: halfback Nile Kinnick in 1939 and quarterback Chuck Long in 1985. Semifinalists for the award will be announced on Nov. 11, while finalists for the distinction will be revealed on Nov. 25. The winner will be announced on Dec. 11. While the list is quite expansive at the moment, Gronowski will have an excellent opportunity to prove he is worthy of the award with a potentially historic Iowa season on the horizon. Will Mike Vrabel consider a career in media after coaching? Here's what he had to say
FOXBORO — Mike Vrabel will take any opportunity to poke fun at the media, and Monday was no different. The New England Patriots head coach had a funny exchange with reporters, specifically when asked what he would do if he were in the media's shoes. Before the reporter could even finish his question, Vrabel immediately cut in. "You mean if I was a part of the media? I don't think there's ever a scenario where that would happen," he said. But the reporter wasn't willing to let this go. "Oh, that's absolutely a matter of time. You already did stuff with [Michael] Felger 15 years ago," they responded. However, Vrabel didn't back down and made his plans for his post-coaching career very clear. "As soon as I'm done with this, I'm going to be in the witness protection program," he joked. "You will never find me." Vrabel has been in the public eye since he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 1997 NFL draft. He then joined the Patriots in 2001, where he cemented himself as a key piece of the dynasty, going on to win three Super Bowls. Finally, he finished his playing career with the Kansas City Chiefs. But he wasn't ready to completely give up football yet, leading to the beginning of his coaching career at Ohio State, where he also played college football. He made the move to the NFL in 2014, joining the Houston Texans staff as the linebackers coach before becoming defensive coordinator for the 2017 season. Vrabel got his first head coaching opportunity in 2018 with the Tennessee Titans, but was dismissed in 2023. Afterwards, he served as a coaching and personnel consultant for the Cleveland Browns for a year, but New England needed a coach, and they had their eyes set on Vrabel from the beginning.
