BTS Members Jet Off To The US After Announcing Album, World Tour
BTS has finally confirmed their comeback plans, and the excitement among their fans is at an all-time high. Just a few days back, all seven members, RM, Jin, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook, appeared together on a Weverse live for the first time since 2022. During the session, the K-pop supergroup revealed their plans for a new group album and their highly anticipated world tour. Both are scheduled for 2026.
To embark on their album-making journey once again, BTS is reportedly heading to the US for a special songwriting camp. On Sunday, July 6, the group's leader, RM, aka Kim Namjoon, flew to Los Angeles to begin preparations. The next day, Suga, Jimin and Jungkook joined him. V, aka Kim Taehyung, is still in Paris, wrapping up his schedule for Celine at the Paris Fashion Week. He will directly join the team afterwards.
Meanwhile, J-Hope and Jin will complete their remaining solo schedules before joining the rest of the team in the US. According to the Korean media outlet Dispatch, the seven members are unlikely to return to South Korea anytime soon. They plan to stay in the US for at least two months while working with international producers on their new music. BTS would be releasing a new full-length album, whose theme, music, and direction are all personally planned by the septet.
It is scheduled for release in Spring 2026, between March and May. The creative process is reportedly set to begin in the US, and the group may move around to draw inspiration from artists worldwide.
If all goes as planned, this would be their first full album in six years, since Map of the Soul: 7 in 2020, which was a follow-up to their 2019 extended play Map of the Soul: Persona. The latter became a turning point in BTS' career as its lead single, Boy with Luv, featuring American singer Halsey, hit No. 4 on Billboard Hot 100 upon its release. The 2019 song helped the K-pop group reach unprecedented heights. It became their fourth consecutive album to debut on the Billboard 200 chart at the number one position.
As for now, J-Hope is set to headline Lollapalooza Berlin on July 13, while Jin is on his first-ever solo tour, RunSeokjin EP Tour. He is scheduled to perform in Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom before concluding his tour in the Netherlands with shows scheduled on August 9 and 10. After the completion of his tour, he will join the rest of the members in the US for BTS's new album.
