Arsenal to seal three signings THIS WEEK as Mikel Arteta's summer spending spree nears £200million
MIKEL ARTETA is on the verge of spending nearly £200million this summer as Arsenal prepare to seal three new signings in the coming days. Title hopeful Arteta has already splashed £70.8m on midfielders Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard, as well as goalie Kepa Arrizabalaga. 6 6 6 But after sealing a second-place finish for the third straight season, the Spaniard is in full business mode. And with the help of new sporting director Andrea Berta, Arteta expects to see three more faces join Arsenal this week – taking his summer spend to nearly £200m. According to the Times, the Gunners have now agreed an initial £54.5m deal to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres. The Swede scored 54 goals in 52 outings last season and is sure to calm the nerves of fans concerned about Arsenal's lack of composure in front of goal. Arteta is also close to landing Chelsea winger Noni Madueke in a deal worth £48m, with an additional £4m in add-ons. The England star is back in Blighty after missing Chelsea's Club World Cup final win over PSG. And he has already completed the first part of his medical, with an announcement due shortly. Finally, Arsenal's latest hat-trick of signings will be completed by the arrival of Cristhian Mosquera. The Valencia centre-back will cost just £13m and is seen as an ideal back-up option for William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes. Arsenal's next three signings will take their summer spending to £186m. Man Utd vs Arsenal fan battle: 'Odegaard's streets ahead of bottle job Fernandes' | Stoppage Time 6 6 6 But it may not stop there, with Arteta still looking at signing a left winger. Newcastle's Anthony Gordon and Real Madrid's Rodrygo are both high on his list. While Arsenal retain interest in versatile Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze. However, the Gunners will also look to sell some current players after stars like Jorginho, Kieran Tierney, Thomas Partey and Takehiro Tomiyasu departed on free transfers. Jakub Kiwior, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Reiss Nelson, Leandro Trossard, Fabio Vieira, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Karl Hein are all available for exits. And should they all be sold, it would free up a pretty penny for Arsenal's stretched transfer kitty.

Temerario GT3: Lamborghini's First In-House Race Car Debuts At Goodwood
Lamborghini pulled the wraps off the Temerario GT3 at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, showing it alongside the road-going Temerario it's based on. But this isn't just another track version of a road car. It's Lamborghini's first competition car to be fully designed, developed, and built in-house. Finished in a striking Tricolore paint job, the GT3 embraces its Italian racecar heritage. But it's not just about looks. The hybrid system is gone, the body is all business, and this is the car that will lead Lamborghini's GT3 racing efforts starting in 2026. Same Heart Minus Three Electric Motors Powering the GT3 is the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 found in the road car. But to meet GT3 regulations, Lamborghini removed the electric motors and fitted smaller turbochargers. That drops power produced by the gas-fed engine from 800 hp to around 550 hp, but it also slashes weight. The redline still sits at an ear-piercing 10,000 rpm, and a custom Capristo exhaust makes sure it sounds the part. The dual-clutch transmission is gone too. In its place is a six-speed transverse gearbox, designed to take the abuse of endurance racing. Designed To Be Fast And Easy To Fix Lamborghini's Centro Stile and Squadra Corse teams worked together to sculpt the GT3's bodywork. It's made from carbon composite materials and shaped to find the perfect balance between downforce and drag. But it also had to be practical. The front and rear body sections are single-piece units for quick removal in the pits, and even the headlights are fitted with quick-release connectors. Cooling has also been improved to keep everything stable during long runs, especially the two turbochargers. Underneath it all is a modified aluminum spaceframe, fitted with a fully removable rear subframe and an integrated roll cage that meets FIA GT3 safety standards. A Bare-Boned Cockpit and Serious Hardware In traditional race car fashion, the Temerario GT3's interior has been completely gutted, and only the necessities make an appearance. There's a custom race steering wheel, simplified switchgear, and a new data logging system to help teams monitor performance. The suspension is all-new, too. The GT3 rides on six-way adjustable KW dampers and features a longer wheelbase and wider track than the outgoing Huracán GT3. In theory, that should give it more grip and better balance, especially through high-speed corners. It has some big shoes to fill, though. The Huracán GT3 won 96 titles in a racing career that spanned nearly a decade. About the Author Marnus Moolman View Profile

Newcastle United make £70m bid for Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike
Newcastle United have made a bid of more than £70million for the Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike. The German club are expected to reject that offer, wanting closer to Ekitike's release clause of £86million, but talks are continuing. Sources at Newcastle insist that if the 23-year-old is signed it would not mean that Alexander Isak would definitely leave this summer, but the Frenchman's arrival will clearly have significant financial implications for a club who only narrowly avoided a Profitability and Sustainability Rules points penalty last season. Newcastle are believed to be offering Ekitike a substantial salary, while the club have already bought Anthony Elanga for £55million this summer, and are confident of signing the goalkeeper James Trafford from Burnley for a fee that could be as much as £30million. Liverpool are known to be admirers of Isak. Newcastle want to increase their attacking options to cope with the four competitions, including the Champions League, that they will be playing in next season. William Osula, a 21-year-old Denmark Under-21 international, is at present the only alternative to Isak after Callum Wilson's departure as a free agent. The deal is being brokered by Ali Barat, an agent involved in the transfers of Moises Caicedo to Chelsea and Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid. Frankfurt's sporting director, Markus Krösche, who was responsible for the sale of Omar Marmoush to Manchester City for £63million in January, has a reputation as a tough negotiator. Ekitike scored 22 goals and claimed 12 assists in all competitions last season, helping the German club to qualify for the Champions League. He has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea in recent months. Newcastle tried to sign Ekitike in both transfer windows in 2022. Instead he left Reims for Paris Saint-Germain, initially on loan. He struggled and joined Eintracht, initially on loan, in February 2024 before a permanent move for £14million last summer. The Newcastle head coach, Eddie Howe, missed out on signing João Pedro, the forward who joined Chelsea this summer, but signed Elanga, the winger, who will compete with Jacob Murphy on the right wing while Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes play on the left flank.
