Storm-Chasing Couple Gets Engaged in Front of Oklahoma Tornado in ‘Epic Proposal'
The pair's photos and videos in front of the tornado went viral
Patel called the event an 'epic proposal' and said she was the 'luckiest girl in the world'A storm-chasing couple had a whirlwind of an engagement!
Matt Michell and Becky Patel had been chasing down a tornado in Arnett, Oklahoma on May 18 when the unexpected happened — Michell got down on one knee and proposed.
Patel documented the experience in a Facebook post writing that she had 'the most unforgettable 'yes!'' alongside photos and video of the engagement taken by a friend.
In the video, the winds could be heard blowing widely as Michell could be heard telling Patel, 'I love you, baby' as she excitedly screamed and hugged him. She jumped up and down a couple of times as they hugged again, all while the tornado continued to turn behind them.

The large tornado could be seen looming far behind the couple as Michell could be seen down on one knee in front of their SUV, in one of the photos shared. Another snapshot showed the happy couple smiling widely after the engagement, and Michell pointed at Patel's new diamond engagement ring on her finger.
The engagement ring appeared to be an oval-cut diamond set on a pavé set with diamonds circling the circumference of the ring. Patel couldn't be happier with the ring, as she could be seen beaming while showing it off to the camera in the photos.
'On May 18th in Arnett, Oklahoma, in front of the most amazing tornado, Matt Michell got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I think my squealing and jumping tells you what my answer was!,' Patel wrote.

'I couldn't have asked for a more epic proposal! Matt, you make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world, and I love you with all my heart,' she added.
Patel, who is from Canada, told KLAW that her new fiancé, from Illinois, had 'been chasing' tornadoes 'for about six years working as a guide for Tempest Tours.' She shared that she 'joined the tour' last year, and that's how the two met.
"I was only supposed to chase for two weeks but Matt asked me to stick around with him and chase with him for an extra week, so I did!" she told the outlet.
Since then, the two have gone on several adventures, chasing down some of the fiercest storms, including a "great tornado in Wyoming last year.'
Patel noted, however, that this tornado in Oklahoma has now become the most memorable one in both of their lives, due to its new significance in their relationship. Several people agreed that it was one to remember, including KOCO meteorologist Damon Lane, who called it "a perfectly timed engagement!"

Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry breakup: Couple to focus on co-parenting daughter Daisy
Hollywood power couple Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who'd been sparking speculation about their yearslong romance in recent weeks, has broken up. Representatives for Perry and Bloom, who have been engaged for six years, confirmed their separation in a statement to USA TODAY on July 3. "Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting," the statement read. "They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect," the statement from their representatives continued. Us Weekly was first to report. The announcement comes after previous reports and media speculation that Perry, 40, and Bloom, 48, who share 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove, had ended their nine-year relationship. People and Us Weekly reported in June that the couple had allegedly ended their engagement. Perry and Bloom began dating in 2016, briefly split in 2017 and got engaged in February 2019. They welcomed daughter Daisy in 2020. Bloom raised eyebrows in late June when he attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding in Italy alone. The "Lord of the Rings" alum, donning a crisp white button-down and khaki slacks, flashed a peace sign to onlookers as he left the Gritti Palace Hotel in Venice via boat. Perry had a slate of four Lifetimes Tour concerts in Adelaide, Australia, during Bezos and Sánchez's wedding weekend. After the celebrity nuptials wrapped, Bloom posted some inspirational quotes on his Instagram Story on June 30. In the first slide, Bloom re-posted a translated quote from the Buddha that read, "Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most." In a follow-up post, Bloom typed up a "daily encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda," a prominent Japanese religious figure and Buddhist: "The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next." Contributing: KiMi Robinson, USA TODAY

Orlando Bloom Is Unapologetically Flirting With Girls in Miami
It's only been a minute since Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry broke up, but apparently they've been split for months and Orly has been acting verrrrry single. We already know that the actor was spotted with Sydney Sweeney in Venice, but Page Six is out here reporting that he was "unapologetic" with his flirting during a trip to Miami a few months back (he was there on April 9 for a cruise ship launch, and also stopped by in early May for the Miami Grand Prix). Per a source, "Orlando was definitely with girls in Miami. He's been not subtly out and about." Katy and Orlando only confirmed their split last night (July 3), issuing a statement care of their rep that said "Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect." The statement came shortly after a source told People that "Katy and Orlando have been suffering through the same problems that have plagued them for years. [They had] too much going on in their lives, which makes it hard to find time for each other and iron out disagreements. When they don't communicate properly, their relationship dips to a low level." They noted that the pair had "been living on an island of stress" and that "sometimes love isn't enough to keep two people with different styles and outlooks on how things are done [together]. It can overshadow the love."
