BOOM! Ohio State football lands 4-star quarterback for 2026 recruiting class

Yahoo11 hours ago
Finally, mercifully, the Ohio State football program has found its long-sought-after quarterback for the 2026 recruiting cycle. The Buckeyes' struggles in gaining a commitment in the cycle could be because they are so solid in the room for the next few years with five-star prospect Julian Sayin, returning combatant Lincoln Kienholz, and another five-star freshman Tavien St.-Clair all in the fold.
Still, as we have seen in the past, especially in the age of Name, Image and Likeness, loose transfer rules, and now direct revenue payments, you can never have too many quarterbacks. The news may not be the splash of quarterback commitments in the past, but Ohio State has been very good at identifying and developing talent at the position, so there must be something there to work with.

Out of Mission Viejo, California, Fahey is ranked as the No. 25 quarterback and 357th overall recruit in the class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He's only 6-foot, 180 pounds, so he'll likely need to get into the weight room and be an option a couple of seasons down the road.
Fahey was a late effort by the Buckeyes after all of their other higher-profile targets committed elsewhere, with Fahey choosing Ohio State over Stanford and Indiana. He makes the 20th commitment in the OSU recruiting class.

Another major commit coming? Alabama among finalists for elite 2026 in-state edge rusher

A program with an extensive amount of momentum on the recruiting trail at the moment, could yet another major commitment be coming for the Alabama Crimson Tide? Yes, on Thursday afternoon, Alabama was named among the finalists for another one of the nation's elite recruits, this time coming from in-state in highly-touted edge rusher Anthony "Tank" Jones. Per a report from Rivals' Hayes Fawcett, Jones has narrowed down his list of finalists to three, listing the Crimson Tide alongside both Oregon and Texas A&M. According to the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings, Jones is currently considered as the nation's No. 16 overall prospect in the 2026 class, as well as the No. 3 edge rusher nationally. A five-star prospect, Jones is also ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the state of Alabama where he attends St. Paul's Episcopal School. Alabama's 2026 class currently ranks No. 6 nationally, according to the 247Sports Team Rankings, with 17 total commitments, three of which are five-star prospects. The most recent of those came this past Wednesday when wide receiver Cederian Morgan committed to the Crimson Tide. 2026 5-star Edge places Texas A&M in his final 3 program list

Where's home?🦆🐘👍🏿? Texas A&M's 2026 edge class could end up reaching historic levels by the end of the year, with two key commitments approaching, starting with four-star KJ Ford out of Duncanville (TX), and five-star Anthony "Tank" Jones, who both placed the Aggies in their final three program lists. While Ford is down to Ohio State, Florida, and A&M, Jones has revealed final contenders. Jones has not revealed his commitment date, but is now down to Oregon, Alabama, and Texas A&M, as the Mobile (AL) native took an official visit to all three programs this summer, including College Station on June 13. Jones left Texas A&M with nothing but positive takeaways, knowing that defensive line coaches Sean Spencer and Tony Jerod-Eddie already have a development plan in place for the elite pass rusher to reach his full potential. Texas A&M's history of producing NFL defensive linemen is vast and unique, led by Myles Garrett, Von Miller, and Nnamdi Madubuike, all of whom are considered top players at their position. Garrett and Miller are first-ballot Hall of Famers. This summer, Jones received several predictions to land at Texas A&M early last month, but things have tightened up after his official visits to Oregon and Alabama. Still, the Aggies should be considered the favorites going forward. Standing at 6'4", 240 pounds, Jones is a versatile defensive lineman who could see snaps inside at the next level; however, his strength is off the edge, where he wreaks havoc with a two or three-point stance, and is extremely powerful once he makes contact. During his 2024 junior season, Jones was dominant, producing 84 tackles, 16 sacks, and 18 tackles for loss. According to Rivals, Jones is currently positioned as the 23rd-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 2nd-ranked edge and the 2nd-ranked prospect in Alabama. Penn State Ranks Inside Top Five in EA Sports College Football 26, QB Drew Allar Makes Rating Jump

Penn State Ranks Inside Top Five in EA Sports College Football 26, QB Drew Allar Makes Rating Jump originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After making a deep run in the college football playoffs last year, and garnering another top tier roster going into the 2025 season, Penn State has gained the respect of the rating makers on EA Sports College Football 26. Advertisement Last year before the highly anticipated game was released, the Nittany Lions ranked as the 9th best team in the game. They now sit in the four spot, although they have the same rating as they did last season, 88 overall. Nevertheless they saw a rise in their ranking, and are ranked as the second ranked team in the BIG 10, behind Ohio State who is number three on the list. Starting quarterback for Penn State Drew Allar did see a rise in his individual rating. He decided to forgo the NFL draft and come back for his senior season at Penn State. With back to back seasons of great numbers the rating makers seem to think Allar is due for a leap. His first full season as a starter in his sophomore season Allar threw for 2,631 yards. He also had 25 touchdown passes flanked by just two interceptions. Last year he threw for 3,327 yards, 24 TDs, and eight INTs. Advertisement Allar is ranked as the third highest overall quarterback prior to the game's release at a 92 overall. Last year before the game was released Allar was rated an 88 overall. Allar again this year is surrounded by some of college football's weapons. It would not be shocking by the end of the season that people look up and he is the highest rated QB on the game. He is walking into his last season of college ball with things you can not teach. He has top-level arm strength, top-level talent around him, and most importantly experience. He has played at the some of the biggest stages you can in his career, and has faced some of college football's best teams. In 2025 there is not a lot of things that will catch Allar off guard.
