Kharge to address grassroot Cong cadre, leaders today
Touted to be unique and the first of its kind in the country, this gathering was named as 'Samajika Nyaya Samara Bheri'. It is expected to be attended by some 15,000 participants, mostly partymen from party heads at village level to ministers and top state leadership.
Kharge, who is the chief guest of this key event, arrived in the city on Thursday evening. He was welcomed by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud and AICC State in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan upon his arrival at Shamshabad Airport.
The AICC president will also take part in the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting of the party on Friday morning, where he is expected to set clear direction to the state Congress, particularly over improved coordination between the party's organisation and the government. The meeting is also expected to deliberate on the implementation of various schemes in the State and Telangana's political situation particularly in view of the upcoming local body polls. Party's internal issues will also be addressed at the meeting.
Disclosing the details of the Samara Bheri meeting at Gandhi Bhavan, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the meeting is expected to witness the participation of thousands of Congress leaders and workers, from village level to mandal and district presidents and ministers.
Besides, MLAs, MPs, and chairpersons of various corporations will also take part. Kharge during his address will give key directions to the village-level Congress presidents to strengthen the party at the grassroots.

MLA Iqbal Hussain, even after being served notice by the party not to issue statements on leadership, stated that Dy CM D. K. Shivakumar should become the CM. "Union Minister and our senior leader Pralhad Joshi is working on resolving some internal issues in certain districts of our party. I personally requested him to look into these minor matters. New Delhi: Congress party's unique women-centric initiative and public outreach via sanitary pads has sparked controversy in the poll-bound Bihar, with political parties reacting sharply to what they called 'weird' attempt to woo voters. The ruling Janata Dal (United) launched a tirade at the grand old party for politicizing issues sensitive to women and called it an example of its ideological bankruptcy. The criticism was triggered by a photograph of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi featuring prominently on sanitary pad packets, being distributed under the party's Priyadarshini Udaan Yojana, aimed at raising menstrual hygiene awareness among women in Bihar. The Congress launched the initiative as part of a larger campaign for women voters in the state. The party claimed that over 5 lakh sanitary pad boxes will be distributed, with an aim to address menstrual health, break social taboos, and also spread awareness across rural and urban areas alike. However, JD-U spokesperson Neeraj Kumar strongly criticised the Congress over the move. "What has happened to the Congress Party?" he asked, calling the strategy a shallow electoral gimmick. Not understanding the situation, or, naturally, the outcomes of being with a party like RJD, which is known for its political misdeeds, the effect of that co-operation was seen.' The sanitary pad distribution is part of the party's Priyadarshini Udaan Yojana, under which the Congress claims to be advocating for menstrual hygiene and awareness. In addition, the party has unveiled the Mai Bahin Maan Yojana, a flagship welfare scheme for the economic empowerment for women. Under the Mai Bahin Maan Yojana, the Congress promises to provide Rs 2,500 per month directly into the bank accounts of economically disadvantaged women, if the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) forms the government in Bihar.
