Maresca relishing selection dilemma
Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca is confident he will find the right answers to the selection problems he is facing for their Club World Cup semi-final.
The Blues take on Brazilian side Fluminense in New York on Tuesday for a place in Sunday's final.
Striker Liam Delap and defender Levi Colwill are both suspended after receiving their second bookings of the tournament in the quarter-final win against Palmeiras.
Midfielder Romeo Lavia has not recovered from a muscular problem and the fitness of captain Reece James continues to be monitored after a knock.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference at the MetLife Stadium, Maresca said: 'I think in the last game we had Romeo out, Moi (Caicedo) out, Reece out and we found a solution with Andrey (Santos) playing in midfield. Now with Levi and Liam out, we will find different solutions.'
Spain close in on quarter-finals
World champions Spain closed in on the quarter-finals of Euro 2025 with a convincing 6-2 win over Belgium in Thun.
Alexia Putellas had put Spain in front in the 22nd minute, only for Justine Vanhaevermaet to swiftly equalise when she nodded in from a corner.
Defender Irene Paredes powered in a header of her own to restore Spain's lead just before half-time, but Hannah Eurlings had Belgium level again shortly after the restart.
Esther Gonzalez's angled drive then quickly restored Spain's lead in the 52nd minute and Arsenal midfielder Mariona Caldentey added a fourth on the hour from close range after a corner.
Claudia Pina curled in a fine 20-yard strike and Putellas then clipped home her second with four minutes left.
Musiala undergoes 'successful' surgery
Jamal Musiala has undergone successful surgery on the serious injury he sustained during Bayern Munich's Club World Cup quarter-final defeat to Paris St Germain.
The 22-year-old fractured his fibula and broke and dislocated his ankle after a collision with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma during the 2-0 win for the French side in New Jersey.
Despite fears Musiala could miss the majority of next season, Bayern issued a statement intimating they were optimistic for a speedier return.
Bayern's statement read: 'He (Musiala) will begin his first rehabilitation sessions tomorrow, Tuesday and will be unavailable to the German record champions for the next few months.'

Liverpool manager Arne Slot, his wife Mirjam and Reds defender Andy Robertson paid their respects to Diogo Jota at Anfield following his tragic death last week. As the men's first team squad returned to pre-season training on Tuesday, the Slots and Robertson added their tribute to the sea of eulogies paid to club's No 20, laying flowers and penning heartwarming messages. FSG CEO of football Michael Edwards was also pictured at Anfield paying his respects, having joined Slot, Robertson and several members of the Reds squad at the funeral for Jota and his younger brother Andre, who was also killed when their car crashed in the early hours of Thursday morning in northern Spain. The accident came just 11 days after Jota had married childhood sweetheart Rute Cardoso, also 28, who is the mother of his two sons Dinis, four, and Duarte, two as well as his baby daughter Mafalda, who is just eight months old. The devastating news has left the footballing world in shock and several stars were present at Jota and his brother's funeral on Saturday. At Anfield on Tuesday, Slot was joined by his wife as he laid flowers for the player who scored the first goal of his reign at the club. 'Diogo, we had the same dream and we fulfilled it together,' began the poignant message from the Dutch boss on behalf of his family. 'Andre and yourself will forever be in our hearts. Arne, Mirjam, Isa and Joep.' In the hours following Jota's devastatingly sad death, one of the most heartbreaking tributes came from his friend Robertson, who revealed the affectionate nickname 'MacJota' he had for the Portuguese striker. The Scotland captain began his message with the loving moniker, writing: 'Our hearts are broken but feeling very grateful for the memories you gave us all! I will miss you. Love you brother, Robbo.' Trump to attend Club World Cup final, FIFA opens office in Trump Tower
WASHINGTON/EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., July 8 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump will attend Sunday's Club World Cup final in East Rutherford, New Jersey, he said at a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, as world soccer's ruling body FIFA announced it had opened an office in New York's Trump Tower. The expanded tournament featuring many of the world's best club teams has been widely seen as a dry run for the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico with a record 48 national teams taking part. Sunday's Club World Cup final at MetLife Stadium will be a preview of next year's championship match, with the home of the NFL's New York Jets and Giants also hosting the 2026 finale. "I'll be going to the game," Trump told reporters. The news came a day after FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced the opening of a representative office at Trump Tower, where the Club World Cup trophy will be on display until the final. "We have received such a big support from the government and from the President with the White House Task Force for the FIFA Club World Cup (now) and for the FIFA World Cup next year," Infantino said. Trump has not shied away from sport's super-sized spotlight during his second term, becoming the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl in February, and in May announcing D.C. as the host for the 2027 NFL Draft from the Oval Office. His immigration crackdown and travel ban on 12 countries have prompted concerns ahead of the 2026 World Cup, however, even as Infantino offered assurances that the world will be welcomed in the U.S. for the quadrennial global showpiece event.
